eagles! >> philadelphia getting ready for what could be a historic celebration. and a 75-year-old grandmother getting inked for the birds tonight. superbowl buzz doesn't get anymore intense than this. i'm erin coleman live in the nbc 10 studios in philadelphia. tonight jim rosenfield and jacqueline london are live in minneapolis. hey, guys. >> reporter: hello, erin. we are two days out from what could be the biggest night in philadelphia sports history. >> reporter: going to take a live look at u.s. bank stadium here in minneapolis, home of superbowl lii and, of course, we all hope this is the site of the eagles' very first superbowl win. >> reporter: today eagles' quarterback nick foles and his teammates held their final full practice before their throwdown with the patriots. they focused on the red zone and scoring tuesday tuesdays. we have a show for you tonight from philadelphia to minneapolis. let's begin our team coverage with nbc 10 steven fisher live

at the mall of america. the feelings are turning the city green tonight. look at that. >> reporter: jacquelin, when we got here to minneapolis earlier this week there was still a lot of purple around here, but that purple is fading and that eagles' green is taking over. >> go birds. >> reporter: eagles' nation is well-represented for superbowl lii here in minneapolis. >> we're getting close. i think the excitement is starting to build. you can see it around here now. >> throughout the day i've seen more and more eagles' fans show up. >> reporter: to eagles' fans like father joseph campalone were here yelling at the lombardi trophy, telling it -- >> you are coming back with the eagles. >> i experienced looking at a trophy coming back to philadelphia this sunday. >> reporter: even the birds' good luck charm, challenger the bald eagle who flies across the link on sunday is in the twin cities for the superbowl. >> everybody loves the eagles, no matter if they're a patriots

lit, lit for the eagles that is. our live cameras are showing you what we're talking, boathouses, the wells fargo center, the ben franklin bridge and university city, all shining in green right now. >> reporter: let's continue our team coverage with nbc 10 brandon hudson. brandon, the city is ready for sunday to get here already. >> reporter: yeah, jim and jacqueline, the focus over the next 48 hours is the crowds. we have seen barriers like this and parking signs up and down broad street and other parts of the city where crowds are expected to celebrate. along south broad street there's traffic, wind and a calm. but a storm is brewing, not just the one expected in sunday's weather forecast. crowds of thousands will storm broad sheet if the eagles win superbowl lii. just like they did after the nfc championship game. michael hughes can't wait. >> reporter: if they win are you going to join the crowd? >> definitely.

i will be ready to celebrate. >> reporter: philly police will be ready, too. they issued warning letters to drivers parked in the immediatean on south broad saying it is off limits sunday. they will have help from the streets department. >> we are about business but also about the business of allowing people to celebrate as long as it is peaceful. >> reporter: police expects crowds along main street, temple university and in mayfair. police said more than 10,000 fans party at frankfurt and cotman to weeks ago. barriers are in place on broad at the intersection. some crowds are forming at the grocery store where last minute party shopping was completed. >> what did you like in the grocery store right now? >> man, looks like everybody is getting ready for a big win, that's what it looks like. >> reporter: temple university students received an alert

saying there will be a bigger police presence on campus sunday "the tonig night. they were advised not to park along north bround aad and to a the side streets connected to broad. let's go back to minnesota with jim and jacqueline. >> i'm sure everyone will adhere to the rules, brandon. last week we told you about a life-long eagles' fan who got the surprise of a lifetime, two free tickets to the big game. >> nbc 10's britney shipp and eagles legend brian westbrook surprised john with those tickets at his house. he's been a season ticket holder for the last 25 years. today britney met up with john here in minnesota. he said he has been waiting for this moment all week. >> every once in a while i would start to get all excited and say, calm down, you still got a week. now it is just i can't wait, just can't wait for this. >> john is taking his best friend to the big game.

they've been going to eagles' games together for the last 25 years. how great is that? >> it is a good partnership. by now the eagles have finalized most of their game plan for the patriots. >> john clark from nbc sports philadelphia takes us inside their last practice, plus he talks to coach pedersen about what might happen if they win on sunday. >> reporter: hey, the eagles wrapped up their final practice of the week on friday and they only have one walk-through to go on saturday at u.s. bank stadium where they're going to play the superbowl. they want to get used to it. take a look at the final practice. good news, tim jernigan was back after missing the last two days with an illness. everybody is healthy. everybody is ready to go. doug pedersen sat down with nbc's tony dungee and he described what it would be like for the birds to bring the superbowl strove back to philly. >> oh, man. oh. i think we saw a glimpse of it after the conference

championship game, but if we -- if we can somehow pull off the miracle and win this, this final game of this season, the city might put up statues of everybody. >> reporter: that would be amazing. and after the final practice of the week, doug pedersen had a private moment with his players and he told them to remember this journey they've been on, play for each other and have fun. these opportunities don't come along every day. in minneapolis, minnesota, i'm john clark, nbc sports philadelphia. >> boy, that's an understatement, right, about the opportunities. >> savor that moment. >> reporter: we all know that eagles fans love to do that eagles' chant. we have heard it just about everywhere we go. seems not everyone loves hearing it. >> in fact, security at the mall of america has been clamping down on fans who can't seem to stop spelling out their team name. we found a lot of fans showing

♪ back here live in minneapolis. we are running into countless die-hard eagles' fans. >> but back home in bucks county a grandma is rocking a new eagles' tattoo. can you believe this? she delivered on a superbowl bet this afternoon. >> nbc 10's erin baskerville went along with her to the tattoo shot. >> i'll die before -- >> it is a teaching moment coming from this chair at the black sparrow tattoo shop in bristol. it is a lesson 75-year-old grandmother ann little is eager to finish. >> compare it to giving birth. it is about the same. >> reporter: she is now being inked with an eagles' tattoo after losing a bet with her ten

grand kids. if the team made it to the big game, she would deliver on the wager. >> remember, any time you think about not keeping your word, think of this. >> reporter: her daughter and granddaughter were on hand to witness this moment in family history. they remember a time when the woman in the chair was furious when they got tattoos of their own. >> you know, heather, when your mom got a tattoo, i nearly killed her. >> reporter: now the roles are reversed, and with each stroke they laughed and took photos of the granny with nowhere to go. >> now you are a gang member. >> yeah. >> bird gang. >> reporter: so after 45 minutes, little was able to finally see the tattoo. it is an eagle with a bible verse that talks about soaring above. >> it was sore but it was nothing you can't put up with for a few minutes. i would definitely do it again. >> wow, already talking about another one, huh? >> oh, i don't know. that's just a saying people say.

it was early in the day. 21 in philadelphia, 6 in pocono, dover 21 degrees. when you factor in the wind, this is the windchill. it feels like 12 below zero in pocono, blue bell 13, philadelphia feels like 9 degrees, ma lena 9 and remember h rehoboth beegt 14. we're having to deal with the nasty windchill. park side down to 19. society hill 22. chestnut hill 19. summerton 18. we'll drop a few more degrees before you wake up tomorrow morning meaning we have baiter cold saturday. we will have a superbowl soaker and we will have super slippery roads on sunday if you are headed around to parties or to visit people during the superbowl. all of the snow from this morning is gone. it was a quick burst of snow. a little clipper making its

waugh through the midwest, but the one we're watching for sunday is diving through montana. it is going to arrive here it looks like perhaps about midday on sunday. right now we have west winds, it will be fiercely cold in single digits. clouds increase late tomorrow. by noon on sunday we are into the 40s across much of the area. snow and mix across the lehigh valley and into the poconos. suburbs, delaware and the jersey shore we are looking at rain. some could be period also of heavy rain as well before it moves out right after the game, of course. and then we start to cool down. any water standing outside could freeze, so it could be treacherous driving after the game. monday is just going to be chilly but clear day out there. here is your neighborhood weather. 17 in philadelphia, 15 in south jersey, 17 for all of you in della war. we will see mainly clear skies

for tomorrow. we will see bright sunshine. it will be bitterly cold to start, 34 in philadelphia, jersey shore at 32. clouds moving in in the afternoon. your ten-day on 10. it doesn't get too, too warm but at least we get above average on sunday. we get up to 43. again, we fall off at night, get down to in the low 30s, and things start to freeze. up to 36 on monday. we're looking at 40 on tuesday. more rain comes in wednesday. this is going to start as rain, near 50 degrees but temperatures will fall throughout the day and we could see it transition to snow early on thursday. we are hoping maybe a victory parade somewhere in here, so we will keep a close eye on the middle part of the week. friday 37. by the time we get into next weekend we go right back in to a wintery mix. >> philadelphia funny man kevin hart is supporting his eagles in minneapolis tonight. up next, we catch up with him as he makes a bold prediction about

quote that says, "one man can make a difference, but a team can make a miracle." i was like, that's it. that's it. you know, the next day i brought that in and i put it up in front of the team. i says, guys, one man can make a difference, but a team can make this thing very, very special and can make a miracle. >> reporter: and doug's message has worked. since carson went down, the eagles in games where the starters played the entire way, they're 4-0 and nick foles has had one of the more unbelievable postseason performances by a quarterback. in minnesota covering the superbowl, john clark, nbc sports philadelphia. sixers and heat in south philly today. expected the play in back-to-back games for the first time. sixers were up 28 in the fourth quarter, but, man, the lead went down to five when finds simmons inside. it was the 100th win for greg brown. we'll be right back.
