nbc 10 news starts now. it looks like it was a shooting gallery. >> right now on nbc 10 news today, four men shot, two of them are dead after an altercation outside of an after-hours club in philadelphia. the details are straight ahead in a live report. set to strike, hundreds of nurses are planning to walk off the job this morning in delaware county. what the hospital says it's doing to make sure patience are taken care of. if you thought yesterday was nice, get ready for even better weather today. here's a live look at the center city skyline, cloudy, foggy out there this morning. temperatures climb gnat 80s today. good morning and welcome to nbc 10 news today, i'm rosemary connors. it's 5:30 on this sunday.

meteorologist brittney shipp is tracking the warmup on this last week of summer. britteny? >> it will be warmer than yesterday, which stayed at 79. it will also be more humid as we head into your sunday. nice conditions on tap. there's a live look at lincoln financial field where the eagles are taking on the redskins for today. we are going to see nice conditions, especially if you head out early for tailgating. a mild start to the morning in philadelphia at 67 degrees, humidity at 09%, wind speeds out of the east/southeast at 7 miles per hour. we are checking out foggy conditions, visibility down to a fourth of a mile in lancaster. down to three miles in reading. half a mile in allentown. be careful. if you're closer to the shore, atlantic city down to two miles and just over a mile for toms river. today will range between 79 and 82 degrees. mostly cloudy and warmer than what we saw yesterday. plus some tracking a chance of

late showers as we head into your sunday night. i'll go over all the details in my first alert seven-day forecast. >> new from overnight, two people are dead and two others are hurt in a shooting in the fern rock section of philadelphia. nbc 10's jesse gary is live. tell us what's happening right now. >> reporter: investigators continue processing this scene, it is a vast scene, encompasses this entire intersection straight ahead to olney and off to the right side of your screen to north broad. let's take a look at our video. investigators say they got a call of gunfire just after midnight outside a children's learning academy which also doubles as an after-hours club. 39-year-old man and 26-year-old man both shot and killed outside, two others injured. one being hit in the arm, the other in the leg. both those men critical condition at area hospitals. investigators say an argument preceded the shooting.

>> they said there was a lot of motorcycle people in the area, it looked like there was an argument. i don't know if it was between two different groups or not or if they were all in the same group. >> reporter: numerous vehicles were also hit. detectives are searching for the trigger person or persons as they continue to process the scene. we'll be here all morning and provide you with updates everyú 30 minutes. i'll see you again in 30 minutes. live in fern rock, jesse gary, nbc 10 news. >> thanks, jesse. we'll look for that update. pennsylvania state police are recommending people use extreme caution at their homes in monroe county after a shelter in place order was lifted. this as authorities continue their manhunt for eric frein. frein is accused of shooting two pennsylvania state troopers in blooming grove, pike county, more than a week ago and killing one of them. police have been look for this self-proclaimed survivalist in the wooded areas of price and barrett townships in mond s is

county. yesterday, police were searching for the alleged killer. >> i understand what's going on, the importance of them catching this guy. but for us, it's just frustrating. >> state police told us in an e-mail while they still do not have eric frein in custody, they are determined to find him. it was one of their own, corporal bryon dickson who was shot and killed in the ambush outside of the barracks in pike county on september 12th. stay with nbc 10 and nbc10.com for your complete coverage on this police manhunt. count on us to bring you new developments in the case. also in northeastern pennsylvania, police are investigating a deadly accident that killed five people including three children. four vehicles were involved in the crash yesterday along route 115 in effort, monroe county. that's 30 miles north of allentown. authorities say a mini van carrying the five victims was speeding. nobody else was hurt. in philadelphia, three people, including two children

are recovering in the hospital this morning from a pitbull attack. police tell nbc 10 that two boys ages 9 and 11 years old were attacked by the dock yesterdg yn beverly lane. a bystander who tried to help was also bitten. police were able to capture the dog. a pennsylvania lobbyist is being held on sexual assault charges. a woman told police the alleged assault followed an event at the union league last month. m marsico stated that his client is innocent. a block party was held yesterday on franklin street in north philadelphia to honor the memory of jamir haynesworth. he was murdered in june, struck by a stray bullet while a rowdy party was break up near his

house. his alleged killer is currently behind bars being held without bail. today nurses at a delaware county hospital are set to go on strike. some 500 nurses from crozer-chester hospital were preparing at a union headquarters meeting last night. the walkout is set to start later this morning and will run until tuesday. the nurses have been working without a contract since june 8th. the major sticking point in negotiations is staffing. we spoke to the families of some patients at crozer-chester. some have mixed feelings. others aring baing the nurses. >> it's not going to be good with no nurses. these, i'm being honest, they are excellent. they've given my son excellent care. >> i think it's not right. if people have insurance, they should have the proper medical care for them. like i said, i was a worker, too. i can understand what they're doing through with the money situation. >> crozer-chester hospital released a statement saying in

part, we have aç contingency staffing plan in place. we are disappointed that the union has taken this action. now to some news from harrisburg. a bill to provide crucial funding for the cash-strapped philadelphia school district is expected to come to a vote as early as tomorrow. full-house action was put off last week after a house committee voted unanimously in favor of the $2 per pack cigarette tax. if it passes the house, the state senate still has to approve it. supporters hope it will generate $50 million a year for philadelphia schools. big honors for nbc 10 last night. pete cain was honored for his four decades of service to the philadelphia community. pete received the silver circle award from the national academy of television arts and signs last night. nbc 10's jillian mele and a team of our colleagues took home an

nice day to take a walk on the beach. if you're in the city, great day to head to the eagles football game. we're following a developing stories overseas. the wife of a british aid worker being held captive by isis makes a plea for his life. she hopes isis will see it in their hearts to release them. in a video made public, isis threatened to kill allen henning. the threat came after the beheading of david haines. they landed at ankara airport after three months in captivity. they were working at the consulate in mosul, iraq. turkey said no ransom was paid and no conditions were accepted for their safe return. this weekend, back here in the u.s., more than 1,500 volunteers fanned out across charlottesville, virginia, to search for any sign of missing

university of virginia student hannah grant. they combed through bushes and backyards yesterday one week after the sophomore disappeared. surveillance videos show graham leaving a pub and running in the early morning hours of september 13th, although no one appears to be chasing her. some families turned out to help in yesterday's search out of sympathy for the young woman's relatives. >> i have a daughter that's a second year in college. and this could very well be my daughter. and i want everyone in the world to come and help me to find my daughter. >> police say they did talk to a person of interest, a 32-year-old man whom they believe was with graham in a bar on the night she disappear. authorities searched his house and his car but they say they did not have enough information or evidence to arrest him. now to some news in northern california. crews are checking to see how many homes were damage or destroyed by a wildfire. gusty winds are making it very difficult for the nearly 5,000 firefighters battling this so-called king fire. it's already burned more than

125 square miles and it's only 10% contained. thousands of homes have been evacuated. a 37-year-old man is accused of setting this fire. he's pleaded not guilty to arson charges. he's being held on $10 million bail. in washington, the secret service is reviewing security after a second scare at the white house in less than 24 hours. a south jersey man was arrested for trying to enter the white house yesterday. nbc news confirms that 19-year-old kevin carr of shamong, burlington county has been charged with unlawful entry. authorities say he approached one of the white house gates on foot and then left. he then showed up at another gate in a car. when he refused to leave, he was arrested. friday night a man from texas managed to scale the white house fence and made it inside the front doors before agents caught up with him. you can see the suspect running in this video. officials say he appeared unarmed at the time but it urn its out that he had a small folding knife on him. the first family was not at the

white house during either incident this weekend. the list of car recalls keeps growing. gm and chrysler announced several models that need to have serious problems fixed. it's a foggy start to your morning but i'm tracking warmer temperatures on this final day plus, what to expect as we head into your first week of fall. that's all coming up in my first alert seven-day forecast.

brittney shipp. >> good morning. as we head into the rest of today, we are going to continue to see foggy conditions. it will be a foggy start to your morning and then as we push into the rest of today, we'll see the fog lifting. and as we approach the afternoon, our temperatures are going to warm into the 80s. so it is going to be a warm end to our summer season. a look at our headlines right now. we are going to see a warmer sunday, tracking showers heading into the rest of your evening. but the eagles game is fine as you head out to tailgate, you won't find any rainfall. we will see a fall cooldown. though it feels like summer, as soon as fall starts it will feel like fall. a few seasons for us here. philadelphia, 67 degrees, a minimum of clouds right now, humidity at 90%, wind speeds out of the east at 7 miles per hour. visibility is down to seven miles. as we head into the rest of this morning, be careful as you're &háhp &hc& we are seeing foggy conditions throughout the area.

57 in allentown. 63 in quakertown, 60 degrees in pottstown. 636 in swedesboro. 65 in washington township. 60s for mt. holly and avalon, 68 degrees. 71 in lewis and 61 in black bird. a mild start to your sunday morning. our temperature change shows we're up 12 degrees in northeast philly. up 14 degrees in mt. holly, 13 in atlantic city. we are seeing warmer air coming up from the south. that's where we're finding most of our warmer temperatures here. that will be the trend as we head into the rest of today. we'll continue to see above average, temperatures are average for this time of year, only in the 70s. our visibility is a concern, especially in the poconos. it's down to half a mile this morning. under two miles in allentown. just a quarter of a mile in lancaster. down to two miles in mt. holly. then our average for this time of year is 77 degrees, as we head into today, above that

average. we drop right back below average as we head into monday. fall officially starts monday at 10:29. our radar shot shows a coastal low works its way up to the northeast. it is bringing isolated showers to parts of atlantic city. so here's what that looks like. it's very light, possibly moderate rainfall in parts of atlantic city and beach haven. it's very confined to just right along the shore. we'll continue to see our air coming up from the south, so warm and humid conditions expected for us as we head into this sunday. but if you take a look at the weather disturbance that's off to the midwest, we are going to see cooler air transitioning closer to us. we have a cold front associated with this weather disturbance. what that means, our temperatures will drop as we head into monday. a 10 degree drop as we head into today and tomorrow. cloudy skies through most of today. as we push closer to your evening hours, 6:00, we have a chance of a few isolated

thunderstorms and light showers for reading and allentown. at this time, it doesn't look like it's going to reach the i-95 corridor, or even parts of the shore clearing up into monday. it will be a nice sun on tap for you, warm, humid, summer-like. we'll see the temperatures dropping down as we head into your monday, your eagles forecast by the way, if you plan on heading out to the game, we'll warm into the mid-80s for today. we have a couple of recalls we want to let you know about this morning. first, general motors is recalling nearly 250,000 cadillac stx and impala late model sedans. defective brake pads could be a fire risk. the automaker will notify owners and repair the vehicles for free. a fuel pump problem is the focus of a chrysler recall. they're targeting more than 230,000 cheap grand cherokees and dodge durangos.
