suspect accused of murdering a pennsylvania state trooper. details in a live report. a cool start to our weekend. but the temperature will rise. here is hoo live look at the center city skyline after the recent fall-like weather that we've been having. get ready for a late summer warm-up. good morning and welcome back. i'm rosemary connors. meteorologist brittneyship is tracking the weather and the mild temperatures. brittney? >> that's right. even the mornings are starting off warmer than what we've been seeing. temperatures in the 60s. here's a live look. we are going to see mostly clear skies. as we push into the rest of your saturday morning, temperatures warming above average. 52 degrees in the poconos. 59 in allentown. 54 in bloomville. 60 in philadelphia. 59 in wilmington. 63 in delaware city. 52 degrees in wrightstown. for today we are going to see temperatures heading into the

mid 70s. so it is going to be a nice day for us. we take a closer look at your daybreak down. this is what you can expect to see heading into the rest of today. we're already going to push into the 70s by the time you head out for lunch. and then by 6:00 p.m., 76 degrees and mild. rosemary? >> thank you, brittney. right now investigators are surrounding a home in the poconos mountains where 31-year-old eric frein lived with his parents. frein is accuse of ambushing two pennsylvania state troopers and killing one of them. police say he's been on the run since this time last week. nbc 10's matt is live in the digital operations center. we understand overnight there were gunshots heard in that area. any update? >> right now, rosemary, eric frein is reportedly hiding out in a home or cabin near his if parents owe home canadensis, monroe county. many homes have been evacuated. other residents in price and

barracks townships were told to shelter in their residences, lock their doors and stay away from windows. this as about 200 officers at a time are going out to find eric frein. he is accused of ambushing two troopers one week ago yesterday. one of the troopers, corporal brian dickson, was killed. another alex douglas, was critically injured. because frein is considered armed and dangerous. they're asking travelers to across price and barracks townships as the manhunt unfolds. roadblocks have been set up. they have been for days. at this point the focus of the search has been narrowed down to that town of canadensis. people who live in the area are anxious for this manhunt to end. >> we just can't believe everything that is going on. it makes us feel really unsafe, you know, thinking that he's so close to us in the woods. i keep looking out my back window and we're scared. >> this is the wanted poster

circulating for eric frein. he was placed on the fbi's ten most wanted list earlier this week. going with that, a $100,000 reward. that is on top of an existing $75,000 reward. so the total right now is $175,000 for the capture of this suspect. now, police in northeastern pennsylvania say they have been and continue to receive tips on frein's whereabouts but as of right now, no arrests. we're staying on top of this. now live in the digital operations center, nbc10 news. as you heard matt say, we are following the new developments this this police manhunt as this story continues to unfold. you can count on nbc10 and nbc10.com for updates. we will check back in with matt in the next half hour. new from overnight in our area. philadelphia police are looking into a double shooting on west oak lane. nbc10 was on the scene of the 7100 block of north 19th street

where police tell us two people were shot during a robbery. one victim is in critical condition. the other is stable. so far there are no arrests in this case. also new from over night, the coast guard is trying to figure out exactly what caused a boating accident on the delaware river. authorities say two people were headed north up the river when their boat hit something around midnight. the victims were rushed to the hospital. there's no word yet on their conditions. today bulldozers will start clearing debris from the site of yesterday's massive warehouse fire in philadelphia. last night nbc10 was on american and cumberland streets in west kensington where fire crews were putting out hot spots. officials warned neighbors to stay inside their homes because the wind was kicking up a lot of smoke. the crews will continue to check for embers here until about 8:00 this morning. that's when the heavy equipment will start removing debris. flames spread quickly destroying both a vacant building and adjacent paper company. the fire forced neighbors to evacuate and nearby schools to

close. three people were hurt, including two firefighters. investigators are nowing looking into the cause of this fire. this morning we are learning more about a family massacre in florida and the ties to our area. donald spirit killed six of his grandchildren, his daughter, and then himself in belle, florida, on thursday. spirit and his seven siblings grew up in camden county. he moved to florida about 25 years ago but several relatives are still in new jersey. his sister-in-law tells nbc10 that she spoke to him a few weeks ago and saw no signs that he planned to carry out the mass murder. >> grandchildren, he loved them. this is something i cannot even explain. i don't have no explanation for this. >> spirit served time for the accidental shooting death of his 8-year-old son in 2001. he's had other issues and other problems related to guns. in 1987 he served 20 day on a gun charge in atlantic city. the same year he was sentenced

to probation after his after vi conviction in camden county. underling of drug kingpin savage will serve life in prison for a deadly bombing. last year a jury found him guilty of conspiracy to participate in drug trafficking and the 2004 arson. this is video from that incident that killed members of a federal witness' family. there were six victims including four children. right now sav value is on death row for killing at least a dozen people while he ran a violent cocaine empire. a mistrial in the case against the former son-in-law of pennsylvania governor tom corbett. gerald gibson is a former philadelphia police officer working narcotics when he was caught up in a drug sting. gibson is accused of taking some of the marked bills put into a car he was ordered to take control of. a jury could not reach a verdict in his case. a new trial date has been set for january.

now news from delaware bureau. school officials need to be more open when looking into claims of sexual assault and harassment. a rally for change was held yesterday. last spring a student filed a complaint against a soeshology professor, claimed that professor offered her an "a" grade in exchange for sexual favors. the student and another professor who helped file the complaint say the university never told them how the issue was resolved. >> this is about recognizing that we need to make better policies so that victims and survivors feel safe going forward, so there's dialogue about what happens, so we can actually do some prevention, too, and not just look at things after they've happened. >> nbc10 also reached out to the university. the university would only confirm that professor is no longer teaching classes there.

from our south jersey bureau. new billboard campaign hopes to help a mother facing weapons charges or something she calls an innocent mistake. this is one of four new signs that a gun rights advocacy group put up in support of shaneen allen. police stopped allen for a routine traffic violation. she told the officer she had a gun i side of her car but her concealed carry permit for pennsylvania was not valid in new jersey. she now faces up to ten years in prison if convicted. a judge and the atlantic county prosecutor initially refused to let her into a pretrial program that would keep her out of jail and expunk her record. that decision came under fire when nfl player ray rice was allowed into that same program after he knocked his fiance unconscious. allen's trial has been postponed while a decision about her case is made. in atlantic city, the trump taj mahal's internet gambling partner is leaving the new jersey market.

ultimate gaming is claiming multiple breaches of contract with the taj mahal. trump entertainment resorts already told employees it may close the casino on november 13th. ultimate gaming has not said when it will end its operations in new jersey. now to the philadelphia school budget crisis. the district will be getting a chunk of money from the sale of vacant buildings but it's only a fraction of the total worth. 11 vacant school buildings worth $18 million has been approved for sale but the school district will only see $2 million of that money. closing costs, repairs and upgrades to the closed schools. the buildings include bok technical high which will be developed into apartments and offices. today teenagers who performed at philadelphia's kimmel center is going to sleep there tonight in a no-tech-athon. while raising money for the

tyler clemente foundation. the rutgers student committed suicide four years ago after his roommate used a webcam to secretly tape him kissing another man. hundreds of college students take a stand after they say other students hung a confederate flag on a local school's campus. we'll give you the details after the break. plus, a warning if you own a toyota. why thousands of newer model cars are being recalled.

ipp will be here. they want to make eight crime to put gps tracking advice on the cars without the owner's approval. assembly minority leader didn't know it was illegal until he got a a call from a candidate. this week he introduced a bill to change it. he says there would be exceptions. parents would be allowed to their children and the bill wul not apply to police. we have a recall this morning. this pertains to people who drive toyotas. the automaker is recalling 20,000 of the vehicles for a possible fuel leak. on the list, certain lexus and toyota camry models as well as highlander, avalon and sienna. the problem is with the fuel delivery pipe. it may leak because it was not welded correctly. drivers should contact the toyota dealer for the repair. now let's check in with cnbc's tyler matheson. >> history was made on wall

street this week. the dow and s&p 500 reached all time closing highs on inflation and jobs and assurances from the federal reserve that record low interest rates aren't moving up any time soon. and history of another kind. chinese e-commerce giant alibaba became the biggest initial public stock offering ever raising $22 billion from investors. we now know just how bad that home depot credit card breach was. retailer admitted the data belonging to 56 million customers is now at risk. far more than the 40 million cards hacked at target stores last year. a lot of buzz about the new apple iphone 6 and the, i phone 6 plus. it hit stores this past week after racking up a record 4 million preorders. but demand was so great that some customers won't get their phones until october, maybe even later. there's a big beer battle brewing. world's number two brewer miller

wind speeds out of the northeast at three miles per hour. visibility is at nine miles per hour. we are dealing with a little bit of patchy fog throughout our region. across the rest of the area. poconos, low 50s. 59 degrees in allentown. a mild start if you're in wilmington, 61. even more mild there. andover at 64 degrees. cooler at millville at 52. closer look at our visibility. you can see the visibility is down in the poconos, down to two miles. mt. holly, four. and then down to nine for philadelphia. so patchy fog if you're heading out, just be careful on the roads. 24-hour temperature change map shows we're up seven degrees in the poconos from this time yesterday. up nine degrees in allentown. up eight degrees in dover and seven in wilmington. we're going to see above average temperatures today. yesterday we stayed below average in the low 70s. 77 is the average. as we head into the rest of today, 79 will be the high.

look at sunday, 84 degrees. so that's a nice warm-up for us as we head into the second half of your weekend. satellite radar shot shows quiet conditions for us. we have a weather disturbance off to the midwest. it's going to transition a bit closer to us. we're going to be under the influence of a southerly wind. we're going to see more moisture coming up from the south and our temperatures are going to warm up today and tomorrow. by 3:00 a.m. we have the chance of a few passing showers and your early morning hours on sunday. then cloudy skies for us. and then another chance of light rainfall closer to 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 at night tomorrow night. you can see how spotty it is on our future cast here. we're not expecting a whole lot of rain. but a stray shower. we don't want you to be caught off guard as we head into your sunday. summer is officially ending as we head into monday. fall starts on monday at 10:29. the sun will be directly over the equator. we will see fall like temperatures next week which is appropriate. your eagles forecast if you're
