a nice start for the most part. there's a closure in the city at light street and pratt street because of police activity. take baltimore street and take howard as your alternate to light street. more on that in a moment. word of an accident at 152 at route 1. use caution. 56 miles per hour on southbound 95 just past the beltway northeast. so far so good at the harbor tunnel. a nice start for the glen burnie area, 51 miles per hour near 100. this is liberty road. out of the traffic is starting to build. we'll see some delays -- out of the traffic -- outer loop. denies it and harford road. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. -- running nicely at harford

road. >> swat teams moved in on the occupy baltimore protesters. >> officers dressed in riot gear forced demonstrators out. kim dacey has been live at the scene all night. it was a peaceful? >> for the most part it was peaceful, according to the protesters. we were not allowed to get close. we had to stay a couple of blocks away appeared there were not many injuries cost to people. pratt street is opened behind me. we're at the corner of pratt street and south street. that is back open again. that is good news. 315 this morning police officers made their move. -- 3:15. at one of them surrounded the occupy camp and began escorting people out. -- a line of them surrounded the

occupied campus. those at the camp said the removal was peaceful. >> there was a couple problems that was happening, but where, it does not happen. you know, it happens everywhere. but, you know, we were very peaceful. >> we have been warned of many things in the past and it is what it is. we're all kind of waiting to see what the mayor would do about this and how the police would actually act and react. >> the mayor released a statement this morning -- >>"the city of baltimore is committed to protecting individuals' rights to protest. however, our public parks and green spaces should not be treated as permanent campgrounds, and camping is prohibited. individuals are free to peaceably assemble and demonstrate within the currently established guidelines. my administration is also committed to providing outreach and assistance to individuals experiencing homelessness." police have not given us any official word on if there were

any arrests or injuries to folks are protesters. they do remain in mckeldin square. it appears the protesters are out. they continue their cleanup efforts. we will keep you updated as we get more information. kim dacey, wbal-tv 11 news. >> in seattle, it was it much more chaotic scene as police oned flash grenades to bl protesters who were blocking entrance to a port. protesters also hit terminals in portland, oregon. this was the scene in oakland. about 1000 protesters were at the port. union leaders said demonstrators are costing employers their

wages. >> a bank on the campus of towson university was robbed. this happened around 10:30 on monday morning. >> we have a good system about telling us what is going on around the area. on york road or somewhere in baltimore and they will update you on that. to be in the university is crazy. >> my teacher went to the door and locked the door. we were getting nervous and paranoid about it. i was of the liberal arts building. he got caught. >> the suspect was arrested.

police say this group of suspects attacked a driver during a delivery run. one of the suspects is charged as a juvenile. >> no word a low-cost a house to be reduced to kindling --no word on how i house was reduced to kindling. fire crews had to transport water in tankers from a nearby mcdonald's. the house was a total loss. >> an accident involving oversized construction equipment snarled traffic. police say a man was driving a flatbed tractor trailer. a highway sign was struck. inspectors were called in to assess the damage to the bridge

before traffic was allowed to resume. ditch of rocks fell on to more than a dozen vehicles traveling the inner loop of the beltway. started around 7:00 p.m. on monday night. the damage done to cars ranges from a dents cracked windshields. police cleared the road and clear debris. >> house republicans are expected to approve a bill that would continue a payroll tax cut. as kate amara tells us, the legislation has drawn rejections. >> republicans say this bill would help create jobs. democrats say it is too stingy. >> when it comes to jobs, the american people cannot wait. so we're going to take action. >> house republicans putting the finishing touches on a bill to extend the payroll tax holiday and long-term

the beautifully light show they have running to the holiday season. it runs through new year's eve. i have one of the engineers who helped develop this beautiful light show. your company is based here in baltimore and you don't like shows across the area. this is spectacular. >> we have a bunch of different technologies. we have video mapping the entire building and we have a laser display over the audience and a bunch of lighting effects all choreographed to the holiday theme. >> we are seeing the building look as if it is coming out of the building. >> our engineers and our creative people snapped this building in three-d -- mapped this building in 3-d. it looks like the building is coming alive.

over the next couple of days. high pressure is in control on the east coast. there is a storm system off to the west that may produce some rain forests on wednesday night into thursday. the showers are moving into southern indiana. in looks like it will move quickly in towards us and it will run into the area of high pressure. we should have a couple of days of dry conditions. right now these guys are basically clear. it will be a beautiful sunrise. it is cold and there is some frost out there. 25 at the airport. 22 in taneytown. much warmer downtown. 37 at the maryland science center. mostly sunny and warmer than yesterday. today we'll be in the upper 40's and low 50's. tonight, chilly but not quite as

mostly sunny going into the afternoon. 51. not too bad for this time of year. we'll come back and check the forecast going into the weekend. >> thank you. the swat team is sent in to clear up the occupy baltimore protesters. >> officers moved in this morning. kim dacey was on the scene all night. did everybody leave peacefully? >> for the most part, it was a peaceful protest. i got off the phone with the mayor's office. they confirmed there were no arrests and no injuries during this whole operation. they estimate about 30 people were removed from mckeldin square. 18 people except in services from a homeless shelter to go there. as for why it was today, it was time to enforce that anti camping policy.

baltimore police made their move. they blocked off roads around mckeldin square where protesters had camped out for several months. >> it is not about private property. this is home to us as citizens of the world. >> a line of police officers surrounded the camp. they escorted the protesters across the street. >> we were fighting for our rights. >> it is not what i expect from a democracy or from america, which was built on the right to assemble slick and to voice dissenting opinions. >> some other protesters say they knew there would be forced to leave mckeldin square at some point. >> we have been warned and we were waiting to see what the mayor would do about this and what the end -- and how the police would act and react.

charged with robbing area stores remains in jail this morning. bail was denied for richard pettaway. is charged with the robbery of two goodwill stores. he was on parole for armed robberies when the goodwill robberies took place. police are hoping someone recognizes a person in the sketch. he is wanted in connection with a robbing and stabbing in charles village. he is one of two men involved last weekend. if you know who this is, you should call police. >> officials are warning residents to stay out of the carroll creek and not as a river after a raw sewage spill. it is not clear how much sewage leaked into the waterway. city's drinking water has not been affected.

little more than kindling. 75 firefighters were plotted to battle the blaze. fire crews had to transport water in tankers from a nearby mcdonald's. the house was a total loss but nobody was hurt. police are trying to determine what determine rocks to fall from a railroad overpass on the inner loop of the beltway in halethorpe. rockslide began around 7:00 p.m. on monday night. the damage done to car ranged from dents cracked windshields. please close the road to clear the debris. the seattle school board banned junk food in school a vending machines. money went to things like athletic your books. profits are down to only $17,000

the inner harbor. we're outside the power plant where you have the chance to see a beautiful light show. it is being run by image engineering. with meghan from the cordish company. how many chances to people have to see the show? >> there runs nightly through new year's eve. there are shows at 6:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 8:00 p.m. >> so many chances and a special show for new year's eve. >> every hour on the hour between 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., and all the shows will have a fireworks display. a must see event. >> this is all in conjunction with "it's a waterfront life." >> waterfront businesses and organizations are encouraged to participate in the campaign.

there. i recommend you go down to see that. we have high pressure over the east coast and that means quiet conditions. it is cold again this morning. temperatures in the 20's. there is a system that make u.s. a chance for some rain starting late wednesday night and into thursday. the showers are still a good distance away from us. that will initially run into the big area of high pressure and dissipate. these guys are basically clear. we will see sunshine and maybe if you high, thin clouds. we will see a beautiful sunrise this morning. 25 at the airport. 19 in frederick. a bit warmer near the warmer. at 37 degrees at the maryland science center. mostly sunny skies today. warmer than yesterday. we'll be in the upper 40's and low 50's. tonight, partly cloudy skies.
