>> live, local, late-breaking. >> to people are dead and 11 others injured after being overcome with carbon monoxide in a baltimore county home. crews responded to home and around 8:40 a.m.

carbon monoxide levels were high, and unfortunately, not everyone made it out in time. sheldon is live outside shock trauma were the victims are recovering tonight. >> of the 11 people got sick this morning, 10 of them were brought to the hyperbaric unit here at shock trauma. we are waiting for officials to give us an update on their condition. they were exposed to dangerously high levels of carbon monoxide this morning. police got a call about two bodies in the four hundred block of colby road. when police arrived at the home, they were overcome by the poisonous carbon monoxide gas. two men were found dead and 11 others got very sick and were rushed to the hospital. officials a carbon monoxide levels were four hundred parts per million, 40 times higher than the level you should be exposed to. the cause of the league is still under investigation. officials think it may be linked

to the furnace. officials say they see a lot of carbon monoxide poisoning on the rise this time of year as people start to heat their homes. >> should you develop lightheadedness, dizziness, unconsciousness, get out of the house as quickly as possible and contact us via 911. >> no word yet if any of these victims are related. we are still waiting to find out if there is any possible relation among the victims. officials on the scene said they did not find any working carbon monoxide detectors in the home. it is a rental unit, which goes against county ordinances. >> it is still unclear what caused a three alarm fire at a storage facility in southwest baltimore. a live look at the damage. chris responded to the 1400 block of russell street shortly before 6:00 this morning. they found heavy smoke and flames.

>> somebody called in the morning to tell me the bad news. i was scared, because i have equipment there, and i went to see what happened to >> no one was injured in the fire. it is unclear how many storage units were damaged. >> fire investigators in anne arundel county are trying to determine what caused a two- alarm fire in glen burnie on mclarin drive. it took crews about an hour to bring the fire under control. to people were taken to baltimore washington medical center with injuries not related to the fire. police are investigating a deadly shooting in southwest baltimore. officers responded around 5:00 this morning. an unidentified woman was found shot multiple times. she later died at shock trauma. there is no word on a suspect or

possible motive. baltimore city police have released the names of four people arrested at a home where they found a possible dogfighting arena. they are all charged with possession of narcotics and the intent to distribute. police said they found thousands of dollars in cash on the suspects at the time of arrest. however, they are not facing any charges related to the six dogs rescued from the home at the 2300 block of edgemont avenue. police said the investigation is ongoing. the search continues for the person or persons who stabbed three people in glen burnie. anne arundel county said it appears the people were at a party when a fight broke out shortly after bedight. the three victims were taken to area hospitals with non life- threatening injuries -- shortly after midnight. >> it certainly has been a dismal day to day, on-again, off-again rains. we have had about three-quarters of an inch of rainfall, cold

rain. no serious wind or snow. we want to take a look at the radar right now and see what is going on. temperatures are still holding in the 40's, but that will not last long. here we see the distribution of rain for the west, where it is cold, you see this note. all sure we have some thunder and lightning off the coast. around hagerstown, we are beginning to see a little mix of precipitation as the brain trust to changeover to snow. the real snow is out in the ohio river valley -- as the rain tries to change over to snow. the forecast is coming up. >> you baltimore county executive kevin calvinists is the optimistic he will bring change. -- kevin kamenetz. he faced some criticism friday

from residents who were displeased with snow and ice on their streets after the first fall of the season. >> any good politician knows that your number one priority is to make sure you keep the st. cloud and the trash picked up. i am no different. >> kamenetz also mentioned his cost-cutting plan to save taxpayers $8 million, and the recently announced improvements. in washington, members of congress want to wrap up and head home from holidays, but if they do not find a compromise on tax cuts, everyone at -- every american will see a tax increase in the new year. >> on the eve of a key vote, top senate democrats tried to save obama's tax-cut compromise with republicans. >> i can say we have a good cross-section from left to right. we are prepared to accept this picric there is a much higher

hurdle in the house. democrats are demanding a better deal, refusing to vote until they get one. >> i believe we still fight for things we care about. >> the endorsement by former president clinton still has washington buzzing. >> i hope that my fellow democrats will support the bill. i don't believe we can get a better deal. >> it is not clear whether he changed any votes. >> the tax extension will be passed, but not with my vote. >> the president's top advisers insist there is not much choice. >> if you let the tax cut to expire, which they will in 20 days if we do nothing, i think that would be a serious blow to the economy. >> the nature of compromise is that you have to accept things you don't like in order to get things that are very important. >> the white house is asking critics to look at what the president got, not what he gave up.

the maryland national guard hosted an event to try to make the transition easier, bringing together troops set to deploy and their families. the national guard has an event with resources for families, coping with preparations for extended separation and information on a lot more. the been to place this morning at the marriott hunt valley and had a positive reaction from the departing troops. >> they give us a lot of resources and a lot of information i did not already know. i knew a lot about some of the things, but it makes a difference. >> would than 400 troops and their families attended this event. still ahead, a fierce winter storm packed a punch in the midwest, leaving 20 inches of snow in some areas and bringing down the roof of a stadium. we will take a look at the conditions. >> we are not looking for 20 inches of snow, but the rain is

indicated by the orange and red. as you go west, the rain begins to thin out a bit. in hagerstown we are beginning to see indications of a little snow mixed in with the rain. that is right rather cold front is as the colder air begins to push in from the west. let's look at what happened today. 54 was the high this morning at the airport and the inner harbor. the lows earlier this morning or 37 and 39. by midnight tonight, it may be even colder than that. about two-thirds of an inch of rain has been measured at both of those locations. here you see were the heaviest rain has fallen in those green areas. we are still raining, so we will see what the final numbers are a little later on. all around the bay, temperatures are still generally in the 40's, close to 50 down in southern maryland. hagerstown is at 36, frostburg is freezing, 28 at oakland.

you see the change in temperatures as you move to the west. here is a satellite radar, nation. all the heavy rains from the bay eastward, and this is all streaming to the northeast. little bits of precipitation, the measure will snowfall was back in the ohio river valley right now, but that will be sliding east toward as we get deeper into the nighttime hours. here is that cold front that will be coming in during the evening hours this evening, and then temperatures begin to drop off rapidly. the concern is if the payment -- pavement does not try, we could have -- if the pavement does not dry. a lot of cold air coming in from the north and there will be subfreezing temperatures at times for quite a while after the storm passes through. here is the futurecast showing the chance by 4:00 a.m. for some social activity. this computer model pushes it to

the south. an indication of colder air moving in. the rain will be ending, but some snowmaking again in some areas before it ends. we may have some snow showers in some areas. it will not be widespread. 30-37, 7-12 mall brouwer winds. there are winter storm warnings out in four western maryland. the futurecast shows at noon tomorrow, the chance for some social or activity that will continue into the afternoon hours. it looks like it will generally -- generally be light snow shower activity. it may extended to tuesday as well. a strong late effect snow will hit the mountains, especially in pennsylvania and new york state. here is the forecast, variably cloudy skies and when they would shoot -- win it with snow
