charged with debt and child abuse. the mother is start with a child abuse and assault. and an 11-year-old girl had funeral services today in salisbury, and about 1000 attended. a few days before christmas, she was found dead on a wooded area near the delaware line. he is a registered sex offender in maryland and delaware. the attorney has said that his client denies allegations he harmed her. father coughlin died on christmas day. he donated his body to science so there will be no funeral. the memorial service is set for wednesday at the baltimore

>> a teenager is dead after a police chase ended in gunfire. officers in albemarle county said it started when they tried to pull over the teenager far on authorized use of the vehicle. they circled by crown, stealing a sheriff's deputy car. the police were apparently called by their own radio. >> [inaudible]

>> promising news tonight involving kids would sleep problems. currently, the only test is impossible for kids to get through. researchers are experimenting with a new tool but could make it easier to identify that condition. we have more in tonight's medical alert. isaiah lombardo has to put on his mask every day. he suffers from sleep apnea, a condition affecting 2% to 3% of all children. >> airways transfer the air.

the collapse during sleep. >> this is fleet experts as the only way to diagnose sleep apnea is with a sleep test. isiah went through it and did not like it. >> imagine if he had to do it. >> detecting sleep apnea could become easier. researchers found a way to identify the disorder looking a protein found in urine, and hopes it could one day lead to another urine test. it is agreed that the testing needs fine-tuning, but if it worked it could be a useful screening tool. >> i think it is a great opportunity to screen many patients at a fraction of the cost. >> another study is planned for this year and it will be larger, including close to 300 kids.

getting more intense. this flow of air from the northwest is what is striking in the cold air. no big storms in the offering, but it will continue to strengthen in new england, and the air flow is coming out of canada. this is where our air is coming from. curricle, scattered clouds, windy, bitter. the air temperatures will be in the 16th to 20 range, but it will feel like zero or below that by the time we deal with these it northwest winds, and we have a wind advisory over most of our area, extending into the early morning hours.

partly cloudy tomorrow, still windy. again, it will feel more like the low teens at times. the thunderstorm watch is in effect for western maryland. fluffy, dry snow. northwest winds gusting to 40 miles an hour, and the futuretest shows a few scattered clouds here. by monday, something may float across the area with a brief snow flurry or shower. nothing to significant. the seven-day forecast has a better chance for snow showers on friday. >> if history repeats itself to more, ravens should make easy work of it.
