and thesare real flowers. boy, you could take someone's wedding bouquet and put their name and their date of their wedding on here and what a wonderful gift that would be. wouldn't that be awesome? i love that idea! you've got to show us how we can do this ourselves. you bet. you know, i brought plenty of vinyl and some tin. let's go to work. okay, now we're ready to make our wonderful, "inspire" plaque. the first thing we want to do is pull my tacky cover off of my cutting mat. and you want this to be tacky because it will hold your vinyl in place. so we're going to go ahead and place our vinyl right onto our cutting mat. and we'll place it into our machine. the next thing we want to do is grab our plant and school book . and inside every cartridge, you get this wonderful handbook to every image that's offered on your cartridges. and then you have your soft key overlay. look at all of the images that come on our cartridge. and we're just going to place it right onto the key pad. and then you have your little cartridge and we just slip it right into the machine. and i'm simply going to turn my machine on. now we simply select our image. so we're going to type in

"inspire." i-n-s-p-i-r-e. we're going to select our size and press "cut." and you know what i'm so impressed with this is that you can cut such a wide range of sizes. we have all the sizes represented here. from one quarter inch clear to, and this isn't all of it okay, because we have all of these, and we'll take it down, and we have still all of these sizes. and, if we remove this, we still have all of these sizes. and guess what? we have four more sizes that i couldn't fit on here. so you get all of that in every cartridge. now all we need to do is press "unload paper." we're going to peel this off. i'm going to release some of my word from the rest of the vinyl because if you're frugal like me, you like to save every scrap. okay, so i'm going to set my other letters aside. you guys are going to love this; this is so neat. i like to rock my vinyl as i

remove it because it allows me to take it away from the letters as you can see, really easy. and you have beautiful letters cut in just minutes. now, we're going to take the rest of the letters for our phrase, and i release the others. i'm going to go ahead and run one piece of transfer tape across the whole section. this transfer tape is so important. and you can reuse it, which is great. oh yeah. and see with that much effort it's done. okay, so now we want to release our back from our "inspire." so we just take it and gently rock it. and it's going to reveal those nice tacky vinyl letters. nothing difficult about this, is there? no; so easy to release that. and look here we have "inspire" ready to go. and you can see if you wanted to put that up on the wall, how easy that would be to just line it up anywhere. now we want our metal plaque or whatever it is you are working with. and i'm just going to place it right on my plaque. now this is the magic right here. as we rock it and reveal it, look at how beautiful the letters are.

they look like we've painted them on. yeah, it's just so professional; i could see it in the store. yes; look at that. isn't that beautiful? perfect. so now, we simply repeat the process we showed you earlier with our intricate butterflies and also with our beautiful rose. now, we can add our borders around the corner and our project is complete. i have to tell you that this is the first product that i have whole heartedly endorsed on what you make at television. because i feel like it's a product that beginners and experts can both use and feel like they are not overwhelmed with how difficult it is to use, nor are they underwhelmed with the results. i'm here with ginger adams. she's owned her own craft store; she's created her own line of best-selling crafting products that are currently sold worldwide. thanks pat, but you know with the cricut expression, anyone can be creative. today i wanted to show you just how fun and creative you can be.

card making is all the trend right now and with the cricut expression, it's easy and it's fast. today were going to show you step-by-step how fun and easy it is to create this darling thank-you card. so first we're going to use a thicker cardstock with some texture on it. you're simply going to just add your mat and push your "load paper" button. next we're going to be doing the frame, so i just find the image on my keypad and press that. and you'll see that come up in your lad screen. and then i'm going to do a 5 inch frame. and there it is. now all we have to simply do is press "cut." to save some time, i've precut some pattern paper. i'm just going to use some adhesive dots, to add my pattern paper where i want it to be placed. all i need to do now is push my "unload paper" key. watch how easy this is. all i need to do is grab a corner of my cardstock and gently pull up. and there's your frame. perfect.

look how dainty that is; i love that. and so now we're going to do the next step, which is cutting our word, "thank you." i just found a small scrap of pink glitter paper, and i'm going to just adhere it onto my mat. now we're simply going to hit "load paper." now i'm going to find my "thank you" and i'm going to set my size, which is 2 inches. our last step is to push "cut." so while it's doing that, i'm going to use some adhesive dots just to secure this down. and there you go. i've already cut some flowers and i wanted to add a little bouquet of flowers. and there you go. it looks like the word "thank you" has finished cutting, so i'm simply going to press "unload paper." and again, all you need to do is just easily lift it off. you're simply again going to just use a few little adhesive dots. the great thing about these are they're see-through. i'm just going to simply peel off the small "you."

and there we go. we're all finished. this really shows how easy it is for anyone to be creative with the expression. in fact, nicky dewey from tyngsborough, massachusetts, sent this original, hand-made birthday card. just think of what you can do with your cricut expression. it's so easy to use. i made some home décor pieces, wall hangings, cards, shower invitations. i even made a baby mobile. this cricut is really a lot of fun. my name is ann whitaker. i am the owner of kids village. we have just over 400 students. my overall opinion of cricut is nothing short of genius. the thing i like most about cricut is the ease of use and how beautiful it makes things look. i'm here with heather lancaster. heather is one of the artists who designs the artwork for the cricut cartridges. she's been featured in national scrapbooking magazines and is the author of four books on scrapbooking.

she's going to show you how to create wonderful scrapbook pages with the expression. i'm going to show you step-by-step how to make this scrapbook page. we are using the potpourri basket cartridge that you receive free with your purchase. so i'm going to go ahead and put the overlay in place, and then the cartridge, which just snaps right into the bottom here. then we have to put our paper onto our mat. press it down firmly into place and then load it into your machine. "load paper," and choose my images. the images that i'm going to cut first are these scrolls. i'm going to set my size and push "cut." while that's cutting, we're going to go ahead and get the rest of our page started. this is just the standard background paper. and then because the paper is kind of busy, i've gone ahead and i've made this other plain sheet of paper. and this is just going to kind-of give us a restful place for the pictures to sit on top of. i've already matted our pictures in white, and i've put the one of alix here, and the one with her date right over here. and then, we are going to go

ahead and put our scrolls on. i think they are ready. okay, i'm going to unload our scrolls. there we go. looks good. and i can use the spatula tool. now, the nice thing about this tool is it just helps lift all those tiny, detailed cuts safely off your mat. i think the scrolls are some of my favorite images on this because they're just so pretty and dainty. they add so much to it. all right, there's our second one. and i can use this paper and finish cutting the rest of my project on it later. doesn't that look great? and so without having to have changed my size or anything, i was able to cut another brown piece that layers perfectly on top of the same scroll. and the next step is to cut our lettering. and i've actually precut the words "alix & aaron" at 2 inches and i cut the words "the graduates" and "2008" at one inch. of course, we would finish by gluing everything into place. and you've done your scrapbook page and it looks amazing. anyone can be creative with the cricut expression.

welcome back. we've been looking at the endless creative possibilities of the cricut expression, your ultimate cutting tool. well now, cathy is going to demonstrate fabric projects. with the cricut expression, we literally cut out all of these icons and images to place on our quilt, and we did it just in minutes. now we're ready to show you how to create your own accent pillow to go with this particular quilt. we're going to start by cutting out the apple. now i've gone ahead and precut our red block, and then i have a heated bonding that's very important. i'm going to go ahead and place the bonding right underneath my fabric block and apply the heat to the fabric. okay, we're ready to cut our apple. would you mind cutting it, pat? sure. now you're going to put this down on your cutting mat, smooth out any air bubbles, and then load it into your expression,

and you hit "load paper." and now you want to select your image which is the apple. now i think that the apple on here is about, what, 7 inches? yes, 7 inches. so we'll just move right over here. you can see it right on the little screen. and we're at 7 inches, and we just hit "cut." and the expression does it for us. low maintenance; fast and easy. and we simply hit "unload paper." out comes your cut design. and we have got ourselves a beautiful, perfectly-shaped, big apple. that is awesome! okay, so then we place it on our quilt block. because our bonding is already on our apple, we can go ahead and iron that right on. it's a perfect uniform shape, so if you want to repeat the process for more pillows, they're all going to look the same. and you know, we can choose to make this an applique, or we can choose to quilt. and look at this nice, beautiful apple. anyone can do it. and look at how it coordinates with the quilt.

just imagine what that would look like in your living room or bedroom. people are going to say, "i cannot believe that you made that." i do everything with the cricut. it's faster, it saves time, and it saves money. i cut multiple sizes, multiple thicknesses of paper, different kinds of embellishments. it does all of it with the one machine. i'm making boxes right now. they're for gifts or for candy. this is what it looks like before it's folded. the cricut does this i just cut it out, and you put your saying, i mean cute huh? whatever you can image you can create with the help of this otherwise i just wouldn't do it. these are some of the projects that i have been working on. treat boxes, the explosion box. when you take the lid off, it explodes open, and then you can pictures on both sides. this is the most exciting part. we're going show you how to create glass etching. the first thing i want to do, is create the silver wedding image from the glass etching plate. we're going to go ahead and apply the vinyl to our cutting mats.

it's actually the best material i've ever found for doing glass etching yourself. okay, so we're going to load it in the loading bay, and press "load paper." i'm going to select my image which is "silver wedding." s-i-l-v-e-r. and you can see them coming right up here on the little screen so that you'll know if you hit the wrong key or spell it wrong, it will show you right there. we select our size, and then simply press "cut." it's that easy. okay, now, i like to multi-task. so i've already prepared my image to go on the back of my plate. and now i'm going to simply release the back of my vinyl. and then we rock it because that's the best way to remove that backing. there you go. okay, we have our image. and now we want to apply it to our glass. and we put it down just like we would on any other material, working out all of our little ripples. okay, and now that we have that done, we can remove our transfer tape. you want to be really gentle as you remove it from your glass

plate. and we'll put that right back here; we'll release our other one. okay, now we're ready to apply the glass solvent. simply place your brush into your solvent, and dab it in. you want to make sure you put on a nice, heavy coating; be generous. apply it all over. give it a nice, smooth, even coat. see how easy that is? okay, i have a nice, healthy coat on all of my open spaces. now, what you want to do is set it aside for about ten minutes. and in the interest of time, what i've done is while this is sitting, we've gone ahead and allowed one to sit for ten minutes. so i've washed it with clean, cold water, and then you're ready to peel. and you don't have to worry about tearing the vinyl because you're taking it all off anyway. right, it doesn't have to come off perfectly. oh, look at this. that's amazing. isn't that something? now because this is chemically etched, it's there permanently. it's there forever. yes, you don't have to worry about washing this and it coming

off. anybody can do this; it's quick and it's easy. okay, this is so great. look, we have our elegant plate. now all we have to do to complete the process is we remove the letters that we've cut, do the same process again, only on the top of the plate to give us our dimension, and we have our finished product. it's fast; it's fun; and it's easy. one of my passions is pastries. i became really excited when i found the expression because it allowed me to come up with so many more creative designs and make templates for my pastries. in my kitchen, the expression is one of our appliances. we use it all the time. it's a great machine. everything you see, i've used my cricut expression to cut out, and i have just loved every second of it. even the little squares. it takes all the work out of it. i'll tell you what the cricut expression really does. it eliminates the need for every other tool i have ever purchased. i love that! i am not a really creative person.

[laughter] >> [mouthing words] >> rebecca: this is a face that has some lines and wrinkles in it and i'm gonna blend this foundation the way i normally would on one of my clients, and i want you to see what happens with a liquid foundation sometimes. look-- right there you can see that there's wrinkles and a lot of times with liquid foundations, it tends to set within the lines and the wrinkles of the face and it gives that look. now let's do another demonstration here. we have another face that has the same type of wrinkling on it, and i'm gonna take a basic mineral loose powder. i want to do a little application of it in the same area right here and i want you to see what happens, again, with a loose powder. look at that-- you can see the wrinkles. loose powder tends to sit within the lines of the face

and give that effect. so now, let's talk about luminess air. i want to show you airbrushing. we're using the same face with the same amount of wrinkles as before. take a look at this. i'm applying the airbrush makeup right in the same area that i had applied the mineral makeup and the liquid foundation on the other faces, and look at how smooth and beautiful that is. you don't see any wrinkling whatsoever. and if i need to add a little bit more coverage, all you do is spray right over the same area and you can put as much coverage as you like. you have a nice, smooth, satiny finish to your face. >> right now i don't have any makeup on. you can see my sun damage... i have it here, on the other cheekbone, um, on my forehead i have a little, um, irregularity from a surgery. so here we have one, two, three, four, five, six, seven. i use seven drops, and watch how easy this is. i just barely...

tap there and i'm just gonna go in circular motions, hitting on my problem areas first. i've got a little blemish here, and i'm getting a full coverage without getting anything on my hair or my clothes. my... imperfections are well-hidden. look at me! this was in minutes, in minutes! and i have this just flawless look. i had lots of sun damage here on my cheeks, over here as well, uh, a little blemish that was around in this area, uh, my surgery mark and, and look, this is just circular layers of this wonderful luminess air product that has... made them go away,
