on 97 at generals highway looking very good so far this morning. we will keep you posted and let you know if any problems come up. >> our big story, it was an emotional night in nashville as family, friends and fans gathered to remember steve mcnair. >> keith mills is live in the studio with more on the memorial service. a lot of folks showed up. >> they did. steve mcnair's widow and four boys obviously an emotional time for them. two of the boys on hand for the memorial service. so was derrick mason. pete gilbert has more as more than 4,500 family, friends and teammates honored him. >> fans arrived early willing to bake under a tennessee sun for their chance to say good-bye. former teammates poured in remembering what made steve mcnair a gridiron legend and their friend. eddie george inspired by his

is accused of trying to have sex with a 14-year-old girl. kerry after sncavanaugh is livee story. >> he was known as mr. chuck to the players but police say the 32-year-old volunteer soccer coach was a sexual predator. charles friedel is charged with sexual solicitation of a minor and distribution and possession of obscene material all linked to overtures which police say he made to a 14-year-old girl by cell phone. charging documents say the girl told her parents we friedel sent naked pictures of himself and asked her to send the same. this happened while he was a coach volunteer for the greater baltimore soccer club. investigators say an undercover officer posing as the girl lured him to a royal farms store on the pretense of sex where he was arrested. >> this is a person who betrayed that trust of the parents and

actually tried to exploit a girl he was not even coaching but was the sister of one of the girls he was coaching. >> friedel is free on $250,000 bond and police want to hear from any parents who believe their parents may have been approached inappropriately by him. >> 200 students attending summer school at a baltimore elementary school had to be evacuated after a drug suspect used it to hide from police. just after 10:00 a.m. keyon earl was picked up outside william paca school. before they could take him in custody he ran inside the school. after a six-hour search police found him inside a classroom cabinet. it is unclear how he got into the school since school doors are supposed to be locked on the outside. >> two more men tied to the murder of a rosedale witness have received their sentences. marcus peer sop will serve 35

years while ronald williams received 25 years. both played key rolls in the murder of carl lackl who was gunned down days before he was to testify against patrick byers. prosecutors say pearson helped plan the murder and find the triggerman. they say williams drove the shooter to lackl's home. a 19-year-old has pleaded guilt to murdering a 14-year-old girl he had been dating. charles jakes will serve 25 years after pleading guilty to killing shaup shawn. griffin's mother said she ignored demand she stop dating him. when she snuck out of the house in april of 2008 she was shot to death in jakes' basement. skrshgs prosecutors have withdrawn three subpoenas against mayor dixon. attorneys for the mayor argued the state prosecutors officer was abusing the grand jury process by shook the summonses seeking records and testimony

because all of the dew point temperatures for most of this period have been in the 50's. when it is that low it is a very dry atmosphere. average high is 87 this time of year. we will be be closer to this tomorrow. annapolis 65, stevens vilville . middle river 63. aberdeen 61. westminster 61. frederick is 63 right now. big area of high pressure over us. dry atmosphere. this kind of gray smudge is the cloudiness to the southwest and again that would last all that long. the stormy weather is to the west. this kind of upset situation will all kind of come together as one cold toronto later today add start moving east. as we lose the high pressure we allow the cold front to come in tomorrow. but today we continue this trend of nice weather with partly cloudy skies. low humidity. 78 to 83 the high. east-southeast winds five to 10

>> looking at some of the top stories, the man accused of killing a guard at the d.c. holocaust museum will face a up. a preliminary hearing is listed for the map arrested in last month's museum shooting. he is charged with first degree murder of steven johns who held the door hope for von brunn before he allegedly pulled out a rifle and opened fire. roland burris says he will not seek a new term after being tapped to fill president barack obama's senate seat. he was under the microscope from the start and ever i understand rod blog tapped him amidst a federal pay for play investigation. since the appointment even more questions surfaced over what burris offered the governor for the appointment. prosecutors in illinois charged the manager of an historic black cemetery and three grave digers with felony charges in a keep it resell burial plots. the suspects dug up hundreds of

bodies at burr oak cemetery, dumped them and resold the plots to unsuspecting mourners. investigators say it could be months before they fully understand what took place there. it is the final resting miss for several notable black americans including emmitt till and blues legend dinah washington. >> banks are offering courtesies to customers but some watchdogs say they appear not to be so gracious. if you overdraw the account most banks offer courtesy overdrafts which covers the account but they have started to look at it as a major revenue stream to the tune of a projected $38.5 billion this year. the federal reserve is looking at some overdraft practices but there are concerns any action by the fed won't be enough to rein

>> a leaner, greener and brand-new g.m. is about to get a complete overhaul. barring any unexpected issues, we are likely to see a new general motors make its debut later today. on thursday opponents of the plan lost an attempt to delay the sale and fast track appeals of a judge's approval of the plan. under that plan g.m. will sell most of et cetera assets through bruins creating a new company more than 60% owned by the u.s. government. in the process, general motors will shed thousands of jobs, close around 2,000 dealers and go from eight u.s. brands to four. chevy, buick, cadillac and g.m.c. the new company will reportedly be more environmentally friendly and we could even see a new logo. and end to the iconic symbol of the world's second largest auto maker as g.m. enters its new

spring league. as far as we know he was not scheduled to coach this fall. friedel is free on $250,000 bond and police sigh they would like to hear from any other parents who believe children were inappropriately contacted by friedel. >> the maryland transit administration is adopting a zero tolerance policy when it comes to operators using cell phones or sending text messages on the job. officials say any bus or train operator found to have been using a phone or texting will be fired even for a first offense. the m.t.a. says it took the action after the washington metro system made a similar change yesterday. a spokesperson says the agency will inform operators union of the change but will not bargain over it. anne arundel county police are looking for a suspect in the shooting of a pass deadena man. it was near whitaker and huff roads with gunshot wounds much he was taken to shock trauma. no word as to who might be

responsible for a murder in west baltimore. police say an 18-year-old whose name has not been released was shot in the chest just after 11:00 p.m. wednesday night near division and lawrence streets. he was taken to shock trauma but didn't survive. the auction of the ambassador theatre failed to pfrj anyone's ticket. it failed to get above $$120,000 and the building has served as a church and cosmetology school. it is a big day for president obama. they will meet with the pope following the end of the fwfshgs 8 summit. nikole killion has been following his travels and has the latest from the washington bureau. >> the president and pope have spoken before but this will be their first meeting and the white house says it expects frank talks. as the group of eight summit ends president obama's final

officers picked up keyon earl outside of william paca elementary school on suspicion of selling drugs but before they could take him into custody he ran in the school forcing the evacuation. after a six-hour search he was found inside a classroom cabinet. with california's budget awash in red ink one advocacy group is proposing a unique solution to the crisis. legalizing marijuana. the group argues that the potential tax revenue from making pot legal could pay the salaries of 20,000 school teachers of one assemblyman is taking the proposal seriously introducing it to the state assembly but governor schwarzenegger calls the idea a distraction and step in the wrong direction. that brings us to your answers to our water cooler question of the day. we asked what do you think of legalizing marijuana to fill in a state's budget gap. terry writes this is interesting and worthy of serious discussion as a public policy issue not only would would it discriminate

lure a 14-year-old girl into having sex with him. kerry cavanaugh has the story. >> he was known as mr. chuck to the players but police are calling the 32-year-old volunteer soccer coach a sexual predator. charles triedle is charged with sexual solicitation of a minor and distribution and possession of obscene matter all linked to overtures which police say he made to a 14-year-old girl that you cell phone text messages. charging documents say the girl told her parents friedel sent naked pictures of himself and asked her to send her own. investigators say an undercover officer lured him to a royal farms store on the pretense of sex where he was arrested. the greater baltimore soccer club where friedel volunteered issued this statement about the former volunteer saying chuck coached during this year are's spring league. he is currently free on bail. police want to hear from any parents who believe their children may have been contacted inappropriately by friedel.

sentenced to wear and a 5-year-old girl of the latest victim. announcing an arrest the police chief lamented the lack of parental discipline in the lives of teens that have recently rained veents on our city. baltimore state's attorney has commented the state has an archaic system that operates under the impression that everyone under 18 can be rehabilitated for repeatedly committing crimes. it calls for rehandle station but accountability and punishment. we agree with both the police chief and state attorney sentiments. we must demand more of judges in the juvenile south system. the system needs review and updating to address repeat offenders no matter their age. parents, grandparents and extended family need to make a commitment to improving the lives of the city youth. community centers are not enough. they need discipline and goals from the home. habitual offenders need to be held more accountable. both the system and family need to do more and ensure that our
