on campus this morning, there was a part-rally, part-vigil, students, alumni, and parents showed up to speak out. students and parents had to make some decisions as to what to do next year. >> i don't want to go anywhere else. i want to go here. now i can't. this place has been my home for the past three years. >> you know? i cannot believe that they waited like this. this is six weeks before school is supposed to have started to do this to the kids and parents and to the staff. it is so sad. >> that sums up the feelings here. students were here most of the morning. most have left. parents and students are saying

they will fight to save this high-school. speak cameras are one step closer to reality in baltimore. the measure has passed the first round of city council voting. the cameras could start snapping photos and finding speeders' by october. those caught would get a $40 ticket in the mail. the city finance department expects to take in more than $7 million from speed camera by letters bearing fiscal year 2010. there were several highly publicized animal cruelty cases. that has sheila dixon launching an anti-animal abuse tax force. -- task force. >> they want to protect the well-being of animals in the city which will improve public safety for everyone, according to the matter. this new animal cruelty task

force will lead the way for the next year, they will look at how the strength in laws can toughen up the prosecution of animal abuse suspects. this is a direct result as to what happened to that pit bull at the end of may. the dog was found severely burned and had to be euthanize a few days later. >> this tragic story shocked the conscience of baltimore and the nation as a whole. recognizing the broad implications of these types of crimes, mayor dixon convened a task force that joined together the major stakeholders on this issue. >> it is important to improve the animal welfare in our community and improve public safety. violence, drugs, weapons, and the gang culture are says it with animal abuse in the city of baltimore.

>> members of the task force include the police chief, national members of the spca, local animal rescue groups, as well as baltimore city residents. they will begin their work on july 16. we have learned that the baltimore county teen who drowned suffered a seizure while in the water. we were at the scene 3:15 monday afternoon. but teens spent about 50 minutes under water being -- the teen spent about 15 minutes under water before being rescued. the two teens found on the train tracks were hit by a train. after viewing tapes from the cameras on the train, officials said they could see the 710- year-old were hit from behind. -- the 17-year olds were hit
