weather is just right. not only easy to take temperatures, but the low humidity, and that combination for this time of the year, it's really quite delightful. out on long island, temperatures in the low 70s right now. massapequa at 64. we have 72 already in great neck, and then we look down the shore to 73 in belmar and toms river. up in poughkeepsie, 75 for newark. across the board, range of mid- to upper 60s, and low 70s showing up. it should not take any time at all to get us into the 80s, midday, and highs low to mid- 80s through the afternoon, and by tomorrow, we will be repeating the temperatures, and it looks like we are getting a double play out of this. at least two in a row of the beautiful days. here's the planning forecast, a few clouds by late in the afternoon, and by sunset, our temperatures could be oner 70s, very comfort after the high of 85 in a few minutes, alaska due

weather forecast. rob? >> all right, iowany, -- accuweather forecast. rob? >> all right, amy, thank you. police are questioning the mother of an infant who was thrown out of a window. we are live in richmond hill, and marcus has what we know at this hour. hi, marcus. >> reporter: good morning, rob. no charges filed yet, but sources say the mother in this case will in deed face charges after the horrible incident that occurred early yesterday, and it was just after sunrise that police responded to 115th street in richmond hill, and residents made a horrific discovery a3-week-old infant lying in a pool of blood, and the boy was thrown from a bathroom window apartment on the 4th floor. the body was found in the courtyard, just after sunrise, and the boy's parents, from bangladesh, share the apartment with relatives who have two children of their own. police are interviewing everyone to try to determine

what happened to the baby. obviously he was too young to crawl out or fall out on his own, and for neighbors the discovery was especially tough. >> honestly, i didn't think it was a baby. i thought someone threw something out. i used to throw out books in high school, and i was like maybe someone threw out a book, and i saw that, and i was just like, no! >> reporter: because there's other children living in the apartment, acs is involved in the investigation. as of now, no charges have been file, but that's expected to change this morning. marcus solis, channel 7 eyewitness news. >> marcus, thank you. a case of legionnaires' disease has been diagnosed in rockland county, and as a result, the factory where the person works is shut down. the company chromemalloy evacuated the company yesterday and they are disinfecting the cooling towers. it's not known where the worker contracted the disease.

workers will start today in the bronx where the outbreak is centered to test every single cooling tower. it's not clear if the rockland county case is linked to the current outbreak or if it's an isolated case. >> we must get out there and root out the problem or cut it off at the source and prevent further spread. >> 101 people have gotten the disease, and 10 have died. we will, of course, continue to follow the response to the outbreak as the city works to bring it under control. update on eyewitness news, facebook, on and on your twitter feeds. >> reporter: new this morning, two parents are facing charges after police say they left their young daughters in a car while they went to a casino in queens. 32-year-old maria lohan and sangundo happe were arrested after police found their daughters in a car at worlds resort casino. the girls were okay, and the

girls helped the police find their parents inside the casino. they are now charged with child. families of a newark woman found murdered in her home are now pleading with the man who they say killed her. olga dejesus was strangled by the man planning to marry. stevenson was spotted at the murder. she was found dead in her home along with the family dog after her daughter didn't hear from her for several hours. >> everything i do reminds me of her, and there is points where i couldn't look in the would see her. >> family members never saw their relationship. reconnected at their high school reunion, and then they

got endangered. they believe stevenson may be in virginia or south carolina. we have video of a violent police takedown in the bronx. the video you will see only on cbs 2, shows the suspects in the home invasion. during the tamedown, one officer suffered injuries to his head, but none of the officers injuries were serious, one suspect is in custody, and the other is on the loose. now we turn to a hot story, literally, that many of you have viewed on our website, ab c7ny. it's called the pepper project. a group learning what it takes to grow the fruits and vegetables. >> it's a collaboration with a business and the community, and the result is the bronx hot sauce. check it out. >> we are going to take a look at the pepper.

a typhoon is packing as much strength as hurricane taiwan. it brought with it fierce winds and torrential rain, and it also has become a deadly storm. cameras were rolling as one girl was rescued after being swept away in choppy water. six people at this point are dead, and four are missing, and dozens are injured. amy and i were talking earlier this storm is still in its early stages. we are not through the worst of if yet. >> reporter: this is the biggest on the planet. it's not only making land fall, but also, the storm's leftovers are moving into china and just a huge population there that has to contend with a lot of water and wind in a short period of time it will be a big

story over the next few days. we took the accutrack computers and centered it over the typhoon. you can see how enormous the storm is. you can also get an idea of the water contained in the storm. you can see the eye is just now probably trying to make land fall here, and it's a huge storm. the first half, of course, and then the eye wall will make its way in. 85-mile an hour winds, and it's moving at a decent clip. west winds at 14 miles an hour. the land fall will weaken, and it's a low pressure system. we were talking about it earlier, but that doesn't mean the storm is over. sometimes the worst impact for a hurricane or typhoon are actually when the storm makes land fall and you're dealing with torrential downpours and the winds where there's a lot of high buildings, and looking around the park here, we don't have a weather worry. looking at the fascinating

storms seems like a world away from one. humidity, 49%, and east, northeast wind at 7 miles an hour. the headlines for us, the beautiful weekend, rain staying away until monday night into tuesday, and then we have no extreme heat in the immediate forecast, and it won't be until late next week we will see our temperatures come up into the upper 80s. enjoy it. 60s for poughkeepsie and monticello. climbing 10 degrees or better for where they were for the temperatures last night. i think we can add 10 degrees to the temperatures on the map. turns out to be a comfortable day with the temperatures and the low humidity. this time of the year, we will expect to see the humidity from the south. that's not the case. we are actually between two storms, wasn't coastal low out here, well offshore, and then tomorrow, we have an encore of the beautiful weather, and the next front is monday into tuesday. the futurecast is showing us

this really well. we are watching the runs of the computer model to tell us the timing of when the rain moves in, and it doesn't look like it will happen until late monday night. monday starts dry, and for these showers, over parts of pennsylvania, they will push in late monday night, and even by 9:00 though, some of the energy offshore will continue to stall out the front, and it will take time to get in here. the weekend getaway, still time to do it. fantastic weather waiting for you, and whether you're going up into the mountains or headed to the beaches, or in your own backyard, it's nice weather for the entire weekend. water temperature, 77. very inviting, but the rip current risk is moderate today, and we are expecting rough surf. be aware of that the 85 is the forecasted high, and tomorrow, going for 83 degrees, a degree or two shy because of the cloud cover.

and yes, the baby is just 20 days old and the baby's mother, 20 years old, and she has been questioned here at the precinct, 102nd precinct, since the incident was unfolded yesterday. it was in richmond hill where neighbors made a terrible discovery. they heard the thud and found the baby in a pool of blood. the baby was thrown from the fourth floor window, and the boy's parents were taken in for questioning as were the relatives they share the apartment. with they have two children of their own. all indications are this was no accident. >> it was definitely an adult who pulled the window down in the bathroom with no bars and launched the baby, threw him, and he fell down into the courtyard. oh, god! >> reporter: now sources telling eyewitness news that the mother will in deed be charged in relation to this,

and besides the police investigation, because there's other children involved acs is investigating the case as well. marcus solis, channel 7 eyewitness news. very much. a tragic story. also new on this saturday morning a nassau county father is aused of driving drunk with two children in the car, 31- year-old gio jossey was arrested just after 10:30 last night after police pulled him over on old glencove road. his 1-year-old and 3-year-old were in the backseat at the time. they were released to their mother, and she was also in the car, and josie is charged under leander's law.

the administrator of the estate late bobbi kristina has filed additional charges against nick gordon for her death. the of kevin ward jr. accused tony stewart of gross negligence after stewart's car skidded into ward after they crashed into last year. ward got out of his car. a grand jury did not indict him calling the death an accident. it's hard to believe, but tomorrow will mark one year since the death of michael brown in ferguson, missouri, an event that sparked intense protests around the country. yesterday community leaders gathered to reflect on the last future. in the meantime, tomorrow, memorial the will be held to mark brown's death.

he was the one armed teenager killed by police in a suburb of ferguson. many say the community is healing after the tension from the death, but they admit there's plenty of work to do. >> i do see healing and just listening to the voices here today and the smiles and the hugs and we have made gains, and we still have a long way to go but we have made a lot of gain, and i'm inspired by that. >> right now the task force is working to make recommendations to the governor's office in the wake of the ferguson tension, and that report is due in less than a month, however, the federal report several months ago revealed a history of discriminatory practice in the ferguson p.d., and it has already led to changes in the police force. donald trump is making a fresh round of headlines this morning. he was invited to a conservative convention, but the invitation was pulled because of his remarks about a fox news anchor.

and new video from instagram. according to the faa the crew declared an emergency shortly after taking off for seattle and turned around to land just after 9:00 last night, and american airlines says the scare was caused by the airplane burning off unburned fuel as it took off. all 133 passengers and crew members were put on another flight. >> you know the thing about that? as long as the pilot comes on and his voice is calm, i'm cool. >> you don't want a jittery pilot. >> as long as i'm like okay, he knows what he is doing, she knows what she's doing, okay. here we go. >> burning unburned fuel doesn't sound good. i don't know what ma means. >> but you panic with the pilot panicking, but as long as he says we are okay, i will say we are going what he or she needs to do.

the car while they went into the casino in queens. the parents were arrested last night after police found their daughters inside of a camp in the parking lot at resorts world casino. police say the 6-year-old and 8- year-old girls were okay, and they even helped the police find their parents inside of the casino. they are charged with endangering the welfare of a child. state inspectors will be out in the bronx today inspecting the cooling towers link to the legionnaires' disease that has left ten dead and 100 ill. a rockland county factor is now closed after a worker there was diagnosed with the disease. the complex was evacuated yesterday, and they are disinfecting the cooling towers. it's unclear if the case in rockland county is linked to the case in the south bronx. we are working to figure that out, but now the issue is apparently just beyond the south bronx. keep an eye on that and the weather. >> final check of the weather
