Ven. Tenzin ChogkyiRadical Compassion (March 22, 2008)

All levels. This workshop/retreat will specifically focus on the 7-Point Mind training by Geshe Chekawa. Its practical application is enormous, and it is radical in that it has the power to completely transform our lives into a tool for awakening our minds and learning to benefit others. This is the perfect workshop for people who are trying to figure out how to integrate the Buddhist teachings into crazy urban life in the 21st century. This course includes instructions in tonglen, a simple breathing meditation technique thats purpose is to alleviate the physical and emotional suffering of ourselves and others.

Subject: Radical Compassion w. Ven. Tenzin Chogkyi
I have started listening to Ven. Chogkyi for a while now and without hesitation her inspiring method of teaching is very appealing to me. She discusses the texts without the use of fluffy terms, sparkly ideas with twinkles and magical thinking. Buddhism is not magical thinking, it is rather scientific and science is proving this through the study of adept meditation practitioners and it is actually seen on scientific equipment that, more of the brain is used during meditation and we can retain concentration infinitely. Not for a few seconds or minutes as was thought before. HHDL is doing many tests and working with scientists for years now and in Ven. Chogkyi's teachings we see clearly her main intensity is making citations using classic texts written by those gone by and those still here. Masters of their minds and the universe. Mind is quite large and you'll get that from this teaching. Thank you deeply Ven. Chogkyi.

peace,
Victoria Rain
