stories. >> donald trump has not come up with a magical solution to stop lakisha james from taking his assets to guarantee the payment for his civil fraud trial against donald trump. >> the merger announced to today from a higher company called the digital world acquisition company can do nothing to change his financial capacities on monday when donald trump hits the deadline for satisfying the judgment against him. if hehe had 46 $4 million, he could just post it with the court. as a guarantee that he could cover the judgment, if he loses his appeal over the case. donald trump does not have that much money, despite claiming to
1:02 pm
have much more than that, for many years now. donald trump has not been able to get anyone to lend him that money so that he could post a bond with the court for the judgment, which would then protect his assets. the court gave him donald trump 30 days to figure this out and he has not been able to. now, as financial reality closes in on him, donald trump goes to bed lying and wakes up lying. he posted one of his familiar lies on social media, saying that the judgment against him was unconstitutional and unfair and it was designed by the judge, to not allow me to use any of the large amount of cash i've built up over the years, through hard work, insight, instinct, and diligence, on my political campaign for president. the lie there is that donald
1:03 pm
trump does not have hundreds of millions of dollars, he does not have it. and the lie is that he was going to spend that money on his political campaign. that is a complete and total lie. donald trump has never spent one penny of his own money on any of his political campaigns, in his first campaign for president, after promising that he would finance his entire ou campaign himself and would never ask anyone to donate to his campaign, donald trump loaned a total of $10.8 million to his campaign to get it started, and then he quickly began begging for money every day of his life online to his supporters. when his supporters sent them enough money, donald trump paid himself back the $10 million that he loaned to his campaign. no, donald trump is not hoarding large amounts of cash
1:04 pm
so that he can spend that money on his political campaign. as he said, just before 2:00 a.m. last night and then he when he woke up this morning, if he slept at all, at 7:14 a.m. he repeated that lie saying i currently have almost $500 million my campaign for president. no he has not. he never intended to use one penny of his own money in his campaign. saying that he now has over $500 million in cash would mean that his lawyers were lying when they told the judge that it was an impossibility. for donald trump to come up with $500 million in cash. his lawyers call that a practical impossibility.
1:05 pm
they explained to the court just how thoroughly donald trump failed with coming up with the money. the lawyer said, these diligent efforts have included approaching 30 companies through different brokers and a bond requirement of this magnitude requiring cash reserves approaching $1 billion is unprecedented for a private company. in the manhattan courtroom on monday, the lie of his image building as a politician will be exposed. >> i don't need anybody's money, it's nice, i'm using my own money, i'm not using the lobbyist, donors, i don't care. i'm really rich. >> that was an enormous part of his initial appeal, when he began as a candidate, he mounted other appeals to expand
1:06 pm
his base of support. many trump supporters in iowa believed them and said them in interviews. the wells that they believed he had was a virtue. they believe that he would be incorruptible because he had too much money already to be corrupted. donald trump was lying about that. his voters were wrong to believe it. they have forgiven and overlooked every lie that has been exposed. at the end of the day on monday, most of them might still be willing to believe that donald trump is as rich as he has always pretended to be. donald trump knows better. donald trump has proved how rich he is not. to anyone who can think. famous billionaires have no trouble coming up with $500 million. jeff bay most has that in his pocket.
1:07 pm
he has given away more money then donald trump has ever had in his life. bill gates has given away ll billions of dollars. the former mayor of new york, mike bloomberg, never brags about his wealth. he could easily cover a sudden bill of $500 million at any time from his current holdings of 10 $6 billion. mike bloomberg started with nothing. he grew up in suburban boston and moved to new york city, had to work to make every single penny that he has earned. and to do it on his own. donald trump hates billionaires like mike bloomberg who came to the big city where donald trump was born rich and left donald trump far behind in the building of important businesses and the accumulation of wealth that staggers donald
1:08 pm
trump's poisoned imagination. donald trump has never dared to even pretend that he is as rich as mike bloomberg. reminding younger men like bill gates and jeff bezos who have the stratospheric level of wealth, donald trump sees with jealousy every day of his life. the drama that he is living through tonight and the drama ro that we are all watching, was foretold when the presidential election was called for joe biden and donald trump officially entered the history books as a loser. on that day, peter marx, the critic of the washington post wrote, i imagine it as a chilling final turn of the plot. his world is coming to an end.
1:09 pm
he will never have another good day. loser label will haunt him. the law will pursue him. mental illness will hobble him. his properties will bankrupt him. the author of trump nation, host of the bloomberg podcast. and also former fbi general counsel and chief of the criminal division in the eastern district of new york, the co-author of the new york times best selling book, the trump indictments. andrew wiseman, as we close in on monday, what will you be looking for? >> the trial date. looking at the papers, leaving aside one caveat which is not
1:10 pm
one of donald trump's lawyers is really a superb ethical lawyer, you never want to count her out. i will be interested to see what that dispense lawyer has to say. having read the papers on both sides, it looks like a minor kerfuffle. the judge will be focused on if there is anything there that will take more than the 30 days that he is granted. and if the judge will stick with this trial starting on ironically giving your opening the april 15th. i expect that the people get a trial date that is if not that date, shortly thereafter. >> tim o'brien, in the civil case now which enters this $450 million collection period, we
1:11 pm
get the feeling that you have dealt with donald trump up close, he sued you for telling the truth about how rich he was not. you get the feeling that he does not actually feel and cannot anticipate turn -- danger properly. the danger to anticipate risk is what saves businesses for disaster. that is what saves all areas of life from disaster. he seems surprised that it has come to this. >> business is risk management. he and i were walking around mar-a-lago once talking about when he almost went bankrupt in the 1990s. my father always said to me, never personally guarantee any loans. i personally guaranteed too

much money in the 1990s and i did not think it would catch up with me. i learned my lesson. i later found out that he was lying to me in that very moment. i did not know it, he had personally guaranteed some of the loans on a new building he was developing in chicago that only came out a few years later. he goes through these searing moments where he almost loses everything he has and he has learned these lessons and then lo and behold, he is doing the same old thing. now here we are in 2024. he is about to be exposed and it will be a slow grind. there will not be a lot of drama on monday, the process of opening the kimono and learning that he does not have the financial clothing that he has said that he has, it begins. a demonstration that he does not learn his lessons and does

not anticipate problems properly because he is a delinquent. he lacks the maturity and insight of an adult. >> barbara jones role in this includes the following. it says that she should monitor in advance, any efforts to secure bonds. if anything was going on this weekend, you have to go through her first. it says that she also has the authority to examine any representations made by the trump organization in connection with securing such bonds. it seems to indicate that whatever goes on here cannot be done secretly. even a magical multibillionaire
1:14 pm
angel that wants to drop the money in donald trump's pocket, barbara jones will have to know about that. >> that is absolutely right. barbara jones is a federal prosecutor that served as an article three judge in new york and has been engaged in oversight of the trump organization. and the civil fraud case. it has expanded her role to as exactly you said, making sure that there are no financial shenanigans going on. the judge has found that there is a history of fraud and shenanigans and is trying to make sure that does not repeat itself. he will be overseeing if there is a reported sale of an asset that did not really add market value. making sure that there is no fraud going on at the last minute to manufacture this sum
1:15 pm
of money that donald trump needs. i would point out the stupidity of donald trump saying today, that he actually has the money. pending before the court he has an application to the court where it is to please lower the bond amount because i cannot pay. at the same time, he has said that i can pay it. put yourself in the shoes of the judges that have that application before them. will they grant that? based on the defendant saying, i can actually pay it. one way or another, someone is lying about that. >> i've never seen a stupider litigant in court on a consistent basis. let me take you back to the criminal prosecution you are talking about in manhattan. it is clear that it is going to
1:16 pm
happen, if not in april, certainly by may. with the latest pleadings we have seen in this case, the concern of the recently developed evidence that the district attorney is saying, look, there is not much there, it does not require a lot of time to modify the defense in a way that includes that new evidence. we are going to know. do you expect that we will have a trial date set soon? will the discussion be continued for a bit? >> it is possible. this is a serious judge. he clearly was not happy about this predicament. i would be surprised if we don't hear something from monday or tuesday about the trial date. the papers that were submitted were so thorough.
1:17 pm
they gave so many affidavits for what happened, it narrows the issues for the judge on monday. i would be surprised he does not hear from the defense and say, this is the trial date and give everybody advanced warning. >> two donald trump who his mind works like a junkie. when we get past the whole issue of what is happening with the collection of half $1 billion, for any other person, the criminal trial that is right behind him, would be top of mind right now. his brain will not start to worry about that until it is a couple of days before going to trial. >> he might have to testify.
1:18 pm
he is a lawyer's worst nightmare on the stand. he lies and he does not stay on script and he is not listening to any advise he is getting from them right now. it is a legal equivalent of what he does in business to not anticipate the freight trains that are rolling towards him in an existential way and he does not know what to do. >> tim o'brien will stay with us. andrew wiseman thank you for starting off the discussion tonight. as his first criminal trial approaches, you can now listen to the key experts of that indictment read by glenn close. >> on the hush money payments, the defendant, donald j trump repeatedly falsified new york business records to conceal
1:19 pm
criminal conduct and voting information from the public during the 2016 election. one component of this scheme was at the defendant's request, a lawyer that worked for the trump organization covertly paid $130,000 to an adult film actress shortly before the election to prevent her from publicizing a sexual encounter with the defendant. >> the special two-part trump indictment addition covering all four indictments is available now wherever you get your podcasts. coming up, what is going to happen on monday? where is lakisha james going to send the sheriff? literally, send the sheriff, to begin collecting from donald trump. that is next.

is this what the status is that women have to be lectured about their health. who is giving this speech? >> just to clarify, it's not a video that i have to watch, it is my medical provider that is required to say a number of things regardless of the circumstances that the individual is in. what we should have is a stakeholder process when creating laws about reproductive health care which will include medical organizations and doctors who are working in their field. they are being legislated against. it is extremist politicians with no background in healthcare that are writing these scripts for the doctors and they are not interested in patients having good outcomes. or getting high quality care. they want to manipulate and frighten patients and they are using laws to course doctors into changing their patients mind is no regard to changing

the patients mind. i was told that i could consider parenting or adoption, which is an unkind and cruel thing to someone who is experiencing a pregnancy loss. i was told that if i told them to continue the trinity that the father would have to financially support me. which in my case, is my husband, and that is a ridiculous thing to say. they have no regard for individual circumstances, they are being told what to say. >> you are someone who has been pregnant before. people are assuming that people who are in this situation are people who do not want to be a parent. you are a parent. no? >> i am a parent. i have two little boys who i love and am so lucky to have. we have actively tried to get pregnant for a long time.
1:55 pm
this time we were not actively trying to get pregnant and we were not actively trying to not get pregnant. we were letting things happen. we will see when we cross that bridge and when we found out we were pregnant, we were very excited about it. there is this narrative that people who are against abortion are pushing back about who the abortion patient is. i felt it was important to me that i had to show that the abortion patient can come from anywhere and can be in any different circumstance. what is happening to me is really common. pregnancy failure and loss is incredibly common. we are patients too and all of our rights deserve the same regard. >> arizona is one of the states with arkansas, california, that are going to enshrine the new woman's right to abortion.
1:56 pm
i have had three children and the idea of forcing someone to do this, if the child is nonviable or in the case of rape or incest, will that be a voting issue this year? >> this is a critical time when it comes to restoring abortion. this would enshrine abortion access into arizona's constitution. because we are a background with the state to have the opportunity to flip the house and senate in november. >> absolutely. i am wishing you well in your house and what you are trying to do for women. thank you so much. this has been prime time weekend, i am joy reed, please
