and presidents around the world and global citizen is the only festival in the world that actual sdli that. that empowers people to take, make the change that they actually want to see. and i think that is the most incredible part about global citizen that it's just not talk. it's all about action. and i'm not alone. we have over 6 million actions that have already happened around the world, and there are so many people that continue to be a part of our family. i'm very, very excited. i am a global citizen. >> global citizen is lucky to have you. for you, why is this day so important? >> we're all part of the planet, we are all global citizen. when i realized that billions of dollars have been donated and proceeds given over the last five years and over 650 million lives affected, when you take action, it really is something that i feel like we're all a part of it and we have to take action ourselves, and central park is filled with a bunch of people who have taken action. >> yeah. >> all here, because they've actually earned their tickets. how incredible is that?

goals, to ensure a sustainable future for generations to come. >> the 17 united nations sustainable development goals are a road map to the better world we all need, and we need to hold leaders accountable, and as a member of the secretary-general sustainable goals advocacy group, forest whitaker has been an advocate for these goals and keeping them on track. come on, crowd, let's welcome the great forest whitaker! >> thank you, tamron and andy. tracking the global goals along the way is essential to their suction. one year in we already see some countries are performing exceptionally well in achieving their targets and their indicators. and others that need just a little encouragement to make good on their word. take a look. >> year one of the sustainable development goals is in the books.

which countries are doing the most to make them happen? let's take a look. first up, senegal. this west african made has made a ton of progress when it comes to good health. infant mortality rates down, immunization up and the government is investing more than ever to stop hiv, tb and malaria. not all african once are at on track exhibit a, primary school in that country won't be universally accessible until the year 2100. georgia is going its part. thanks to uptick in tour original, the eurasian nation set its poverty rate 10%. half a million more people now are out of poverty. bravo. and brazil. all about good governance but brazil's scandal plagued government has a long way to go. at 2015, germany set the standard for generosity. in addition to helping over a

million asylum seeker, announced its largest increase in aid switzerland cut its budget despite the refugee crisis. big or small every country who nart sustaining the development goals. it's up to global citizen everywhere to show up for a better world.
