chop have been discharged and they are now recovering. >> they have a very typical picture of respiratory viral infection, so fever, cough, wheezing, and for some, some of those require hospitalization a bit of difficulty catching their breath. >> reporter: symptoms of entero virus d68 are similar to a bad cold or flu and can be more complicated for children with respiratory problems like asthma. there have been no reports of any deaths link to this virus, the cdc says virus has been confirmed in 130 children in 12 states since mid-august but many more are likely. doctors say it is spreading now that children are back in school and that prevention is key now, and hand washing is especially important now, for children. >> a lot of concern out there among parents, got to take precaution for sure. >> stephanie, thanks very much. a car found submerged in

the pond has helped police identified a suspect in the ambush of two pennsylvania state troopers. investigators say 31 year-old eric matthew opened fire on the blooming grove barracks in northeastern pa on friday night. corporal brian dickson was kill, trooper alex douglass was critically wounded. investigators say evidence found in the car led them to freen hoist still on the run tonight. >> we found evidence in there, of specifically shell casings and other things that matched shell casings that we found at the blooming grove station. also found in that vehicle the defendant's social security card. >> reporter: freen is now charged with first degree murder, spent shell casings were also found touring a search of his home, cord to go investigators. freen is said to be a survivallist who expressed a desire to kill law enforcement officers and commit mass

murder. police issued an arrest warrant in the double murder of a young woman and her unborn baby. investigators are looking for this man tonight, 27 year-old devon. megan toto was shot sunday morning in frankford although investigators don't believe she was the the intended target. doto was eight months pregnant at the time, her baby delivered later by c-section, also died. philadelphia police need your help identifying this group, they are wanted for attacking a same sex couple in center city thursday night. the victim's say that the suspects made disparaging remarks about their sexuality and then walk along the 1600 block of chancellor street and started to beat them. one victim had to have his jaw wired shut. in addition to the hate crime police say someone in the group of 15 stole a victim's bag. well, city emergency team find themselves in need of help when their unit catches fire. this tonight is all that remains have of he had i can 50. aramingo avenue and east coupler with land street in kensington as officials surveyed the damage. the the cause of that fire is not yet known. good news is no one there was hurt. charges have been filed tonight a against a former school band teacher in doylestown. she's accused of having a sexual relationship with a student. live at 6:00 "eyewitness news" reporter syma chowdhry eighths district court in new britain with more on this case, syma? >> reporter: well, a band teacher could lose her job after she was arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with the 14 year-old male student. now this teacher is a wife and mother and she's pregnant with her second child but she was led into court in handcuffs and new she faces serious charges. do you have anything to say. bridget isn't saying much but criminal complaint against her says she's a child predator. pregnant band teacher from central bucks is accused of having a sexual relationship with the 14 year old male student in 2012.

at the time she was teaching at lenape middle school. now she works at central bucks high school south but has been suspended. according to the criminal complaint the relationship started off with the victim and band teachers sexting each other and that led to three sexual encounters, two of them at lenape middle school. the prosecutors say an anonymous tip led to the investigation. >> somebody who is mandated by law to report this got a report of this and reported it, and then it came directly to us. >> reporter: she lives in philadelphia and is married with a four year-old. defense attorneys say that the 31 year-old is pregnant with her second child. now she's facing serious charges. >> this ace a young kid and a person in a certain position. this is just any adult but this is a teacher. >> reporter: people living in the area were shocked to hear about the teachers arrest. >> she has a baby like why would you want to take that risk because now she will have a baby in jail, her whole family is lost, their name slandered now. >> i just can't believe

something like that could happen in this area. >> tonight, she is now out on bail, she has been suspended, with pay from the central bucks school district. this friday. now that she's been arrested she will be suspended with no pay starting tomorrow. we are live in new britain syma chowdhry for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". amtrak services long the northeast corridor has resume between philadelphia, and washington d.c. that services was suspended earlier today on the acela express and the northeast regional lines after a freight train hit a pole and brought down some wires. engineering crews worked to open one track and they hepp to have services fully restored by the morning. >> a lot of people that were pretty significantly inconvenienced obviously. good news now that trains are operating we are running a limited schedule. >> here is a picture that amtrak sent to "eyewitness news" showing wires that were brought down when that norfolk southern freight train hit a pole. you can always check amtrak

>> a few minutes before 11:00 p.m. sunday a erie flash of light crossed the sky as a meteor fell to earth and exploded. now another view this one from central pennsylvania. we paused the video to show you just how bright the sky became for a split second. american 250 reports flooded in. >> when somebody sees it, it is so stunning that they are sure that hundreds of other people have seen it, thousands, everybody must have seen it but if you are not looking in the right place at the right time, you will not see it because it is only two seconds. >> reporter: not unusual for people to see an event like this over a wide region. meteor was seen as far south as southern virginia and as far north as upstate new york all the way over to new hampshire and as far west as ohio. likely that the meteorology did explode over the mid-atlantic. >> something about this size, say the size about four or five footballs is really quite heavy this weighs over

400-pound and a object this size could really cause a lot of damage in a neighborhood. >> reporter: but sunday night's meteor was nothing compared to the nearly 60-foot meteor that exploded over russia in 2013. the meteor exploded in the sky above the euro mountains creating a sonic boom injuring more than 1500 people, and damaging hundreds of building, it glowed 30 times brighter than the sun and was strongest meteor to explode over earth in a century, most near earth objects disintegrate before reaching earth's surface but nasa is still concerned about the potential danger. it has launched a near earth objects program which will hunt and catalogue all comets, asteroids and space objects that pass within 28 million miles from earth. i'm meteorologist justin drabick for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". that is amazing. >> so cool. >> yes. >> very cool. >> there is a lot of those types of things going on around the country and around the world and a lot of weather

phenomenon as well. it is quiet across the delaware valley and whole east coast, we have a few showers this morning but nothing like what is going on in the west from the remnants now tropical storm odial. flood watches in effect for arizona as rain from tropical storm odial moves through desert southwest and this can cause water to sweep through normally dry streambeds like we are seeing right here, flows into the towns and cities. they are expecting three to 6-inch's long the mountainous terrain, possibility of local amounts up to 10 inches, flash flooding and major river flooding, so a huge, problem, out through arizona and also new mexico. here's very latest on tropical storm odial. 50 miles an hour wind makes it a a very strong tropical storm moving north at 7 miles an hour, this will take it across the gulf of california, that little waterway you see right there between baha and also mexico and the remnants into

phoenix and tucson. it is not there just yet but already creating major problems in the southwest. here's the rain, from odial and you can see it, spreading to the north just beginning, this wayne will continue for the next two to three days. on the east coast we will go our live neighborhood network shows you the temperatures a very cool day in the wake of the cold front, rain, minimal, this morning but we have talk about the poor timing during the morning rush, and here we go, we saw it, point of an inch in trenton, villas cape may quarter inch, same in limerick as pottstown limerick airport and deptford township high school nearly a quarter inch of rain in deptford. now we are looking ahead to some cooler days in the wake of the front, yesterday's high 72. today 74. seventy's for the rest of this week, really dipping down friday, and average high is 78 for this time of the year, for this last week of summer, sad to see it go. right now in philadelphia 72. seventy-two in wildwood. sixty-nine in allentown.

only 60 in the poconos. sixty's are wild through the keystone state to the west, and even as you head in the midwest. so staying on the cool side. high pressure builds in, pleasant for wednesday, with temperatures in the 70's, not much of a change on thursday either. high pressure will keep this stationary frontal boundary to the south and we will remain dry. there is a weak front moving through thursday, could provide a few extra clouds, maybe a passing sprinkle, most of us will not even notice it but then, friday moves along and there is a very strong high pressure system that will be waiting in the wings over northern plains on friday, we will watch this, move on down and as it does, it is going to drive temperatures down nearly 10 degrees below average, friday the the coolest day of this seven day, and that is where we will bottom out before we rebound, when summer actually end over the weekend. overnight, clearing skies, it will be cool, low of 57,
