right now, at 6:00 o'clock jury hand down a guilty verdict against cristina regusters. she's accuse of a heinous crime begins a five-year old girl. tonight we will go inside the investigation for a firsthand look at the evidence that led to her conviction. that verdict came down less than 24 hours after the deliberations started. good evening, i'm chris may. i'm natasha brown in for jessica tonight. there was a lot of emotion in the courtroom as guilty verdict begins regusters was read. we have live team three coverage of the verdict and our walt hunter spoke one on one with the lead i been investigation in this case but we will start with diana rocco live outside the criminal justice center in center city, diana. >> reporter: a lot of emotion inside the courtroom today, but cristina regusters showed no emotion, when the jurors

found her guilty on all six counts including kidnapping, aggravated assault and unlawful contact with a minor. investigators say it was no doubt that the brave actions of this five-year old victim that put her attacker behind bars. victim's mother leaves the criminal justice center after a guilty verdict for woman who posed as her kidnapping and sexually assaulting her five-year old daughter. >> we learn there is not only about cristina regusters but we learn about the abysmal failures of the philadelphia school district. >> reporter: after a day and a half of deliberation a jury found 21 year-old cristina regusters guilty on all six counts. investigators say she act add loan in january of 203 when she walk into bryant elementary school dressed in muslim gashes and kidnaped five-year old bringing her back to her cobbs creek home where she sexually assaulted the girl. after a day girl escaped and found wondering in the upper darby play ground at 4:00 in the morning.

>> i can't imagine what she endured, at the hand of this monster. but this case was solved because of this five-year old. >> this is a child who was able to provide more detail, more information then most adults. the she's an amazing courageous, child. >> reporter: during 39 week trial little girl took the stand describing her attack and led investigators to the home where she was hell. regusters tried to mislead the child giving her different names and trying to convince there were others involved and she was the one who rescued her. disappointed with the quick verdict the defense doesn't regret keeping regusters off the stand after a disruption by the defendant during the trial. >> i didn't want an outburst like we had previously. >> reporter: regusters is now looking at life in prison. her sentencing is in 90 days. we are live outside criminal justice center tonight i'm diana rocco for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". well, with this verdict we are hearing for the first time the 911 call made by that good

samaritan who found the little girl wet and shivering in the playground where she had been abandoned by her attacker. >> nelson mandela myers, discovered that child crying for help as he walked to work. 911 call obtained by kyw news radio was part of the evidence that helped convict cristina regusters. only "eyewitness news" takes you inside this case tonight, investigative reporter walt hunter talked one on one with the commander whose detectives cracked the case. >> this is probably one of the most horrific, horrifying things that i have seen in my 25 years in police work. >> reporter: anthony mcfadden who led investigation says that injuries suffered by the five-year old and courage that she showed helping provide

information that led to her attacker cristina regusters were beyond anything she had seen. >> she was telling us i'm getting tired and don't feel good. >> i really want to help, i don't want to stop. >> reporter: this mccall named marty played a big part in finding and convicting regusters, mcfadden finding themselves in the unusual position to tell officers to look for a large, loud bird heard by little victim during 19 hours she was held captive blindfolded and assaulted after being abduct from her school. >> it might sound funny but if you hear or see a big huge bird like a big mccall or big parrot, loud, make note of it, contact the special victims investigators right away. >> reporter: mcfadden told me when he first heard the verdict he thought first of the brave little victim. >> this is a close another for her now. she knows that this predator is never going to harm her or anybody else ever again now.

>> reporter: thanks to marty the mccall and other evidence gathered with the help of the five-year old mcfadden's hope it will be a big step into putting the horror behind her. >> hopefully she will heel, she will mentally, physically and move on with her life. >> reporter: now one of the 12 jurors who convicted regusters and asked to remain anonymous told me that the bird, in fact, play a role in the jury's decision but after three weeks of testimony it was dna match that convinced them, quoting, certainly dna evidence was strong, the strongest factor in our decision. we got the the right person the juror's said confidently and justice will be done. i'm certain the family will have some type of closure. juror add that had most of the jurors were actually leaning towards conviction as the trial moved forward but in the end after two or three conflicted jurors reexamine the evident, they reached their final decision, of guilty. live from the sat center. i'm walt hunter, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> walt, thanks very much. weekend is here, and we're

through that is a sign of the approaching storm system that will bring rain in here for part of the weekend but throughout the evening, it is great. 71 degrees. we will be in the upper 60's at nine, keeping it partly cloudy at 11:00 at 66 degrees. here is your three day forecast saturday, clouds in the morning dry but watch out for afternoon rain. we have plenty of sun nice finish to the weekend at 73. we will talk about that seven take forecast in a few more minutes. >> see you then, thank you. part of the home being demolish collapsed unexpectly today, two workers are injured. eye witt the necessary news was on the scene at second and monroe in queen village. one of the workers wound up trapped under ruble and that worker was rush to the hospital. officials say wall came down on top of the scaffold on which those workers were standing. workers meantime at the taj mahal in atlantic city have received notice that the casino could shut down for good in november. trump entertainment resorts says it is has sent notice to more than 3100 employees, the

company filed for bankruptcy, on tuesday threatened to close the taj mahal, if it didn't get concession from his unions. now it pointed to november 13th as a tentative closure date. atlantic city's troubles could have have an adverse impact on the nearby housing market as well, as "eyewitness news", new jersey reporter cleve bryan tells us, atlantic county is already tops for foreclosures in new jersey. and some fear it could get worse with so many losing their jobs. >> each number represents a family. >> reporter: dramatic increase in foreclosures leave sheriff frank ballast with the unpleasant responsibility of auctioning off dozens of homes each week. >> we feel bad for those losing their homes because of their job situation. >> reporter: new data shows new jersey has fourth highest foreclosure rate in the nation. atlantic is worst county in the state. experts say the statewide trend reflects loosening of the log jam in the legal process for foreclosures but

in atlantic county high unemployment is a big factor. >> when these casino workers came in and bought these 300, $40,500,000 houses they could afford them but when they lost their job or went from full-time to part-time they could in the make payments. >> reporter: he says there are ways to get assistance through a sheriff's office program. counselors like russell graves can help with reductions and deform on loan payments. he said last week at a resource center for casino workers, 360 people signed up. >> we have 85 percent better chance of getting people a modification and one that lasts, then if you go on your own. >> reporter: as for impact of foreclosures on the area housing market sean o'brien says foreclosures make up a small percentage of the total housing stock. home prices aren't taking too much of a hit. he says foreclosed homes listed for sale are going off the market at a good rate. >> as long as financessable an in decent conditions you can buy them at an alarming good price. >> reporter: as atlantic city's casino industry continues to face uncertainty local experts say it is hard

minneapolis is reporting a grand jury indicted vikings running back adrian peterson on charges of negligent injury to a child. police say that the running back told them that he had quote, whooped his four year-old son with a switch, earlier this year, and a doctor who checked out peterson's son told investigators that the boy had ten cuts on his thighs, bruce toes his lower back and buttocks and cuts on his hands. in fact, these are photos of his injuries. obtained from a craft of that police report. the injuries reportedly occurred in texas in may when peterson's son was visiting him there. when investigators questioned peterson they say he told them this was a normal spanking and not excessive but grand jury disagreed they did died the running back adrian peterson in the child abuse investigation today. don't make me get angry. >> it is friday, football frenzy we are at garnett valley high school they will
