run through the city streets. plus a celebration in honor of the mayor of castro street, the gathering to commemorate the life and enduring legacy of harvey milk from ktvu. >> fox two news. this is mornings on two. >> we welcome you on a sunday morning here to ktvu mornings on two. i'm james torres. >> it's the man show today. it is it is almost no, that's true. at least on the anchor desk. hi everyone. i'm frank mallicoat. bay to breakers today. and i think the runner is going to be mighty happy because it's a little foggy in the city. let's check in with rosemary. get that all important forecast. good morning. >> good morning. and should we add that our own claudine wong is out there? she's out there somewhere. she's got a whole little coalition of people there. yeah, a cool start. and like you said, that's nice for runners out there this morning. hello, plenty of sunshine over parts of the bay area and that we saw clouds yesterday. so we are a little bit with the cooler conditions as a result. but as a result we are also going to see
7:02 am
a quicker rebound. giving you a live look here from ktvu towards the san francisco. clouds are still there along the coastline this morning. temperatures running a little bit cooler. san francisco right now at 52 degrees. oakland, concord at 54. talking about bay to breakers. do expect partly sunny, partly cloudy conditions and those low 50s to remain in place for the next hour or so. by 11:00 when they're headed towards ocean beach. upper 50s with a mix of sun and clouds. so a cool one there. and that's just how they like it into the afternoon. san francisco going to 65. so right about average a few of our inland cities will be slightly above average 80 degrees for santa rosa. a better look at the entire region for today and what we can expect for the days ahead. coming up, rosemary. >> thank you. time now. 701 as we talk about bay to breakers day in san francisco, thousands of people dressing up this morning to head out to the city streets for the fun run that begins in just about an hour from now. ktvu is amanda quintana joins us now live from the starting line where the excitement is starting to build up. amanda, any fun costumes you're seeing so far?
7:03 am
>> a few. i saw a big pink monkey just showed up. i think behind me it's mainly volunteers right now, but we are starting to see some runners show up in some fun costumes. we do see a firefighter here. we usually see him at runs here in san francisco. i've seen him at the marathon as well, but we're going to see more and more fun costumes as the day goes on, because this is a historic run, mainly for how fun it is. it's a 12 k or a5k, and it goes through the streets of san francisco. people can run, they can walk, they can dance, they can really do whatever they want to get over that finish line. the most fun part, i think, is the costumes. i saw a couple go by that might be earth, wind and fire. i don't know, we're going to have to see once they put on all the pieces of their costume, but this feels like more of a party than a festival. the race starts here at howard and main street. it goes along hayes street, where there's the hayes hill challenge. that's a half
7:04 am
mile uphill, and then they have their own awards for that part of the race. then it continues through golden gate park. it ends along the great highway. so where we are here, they're getting set up because runners are released in waves. the first wave takes off at 8:00, the last at 845. that way, if you're at a different pace, you know you could stay with your wave and then some of these volunteers i just talked to, they said, you know, they stick with their wave. they're kind of there for safety to make sure no one gets hurt, anything like that. so i think the more fun costumes will be towards the back waves, because the front is more of the serious runners. so we're going to see, i'm sure in the next few minutes we're going to see a lot of fun costumes showing up live in san francisco, amanda quintana ktvu, fox two news. >> thanks, amanda. yeah, i don't think the elite runners will be wearing centipedes or tiki bars or anything like that. well, you never know, but don't think they'd have a very good time.
7:05 am
let's take a look at that route that amanda talked about a little bit. the race, of course, kicks off at 8:00. so a little less than an hour. seven and a half miles. it's a 12 k race through nine san francisco neighborhoods. as she mentioned, it starts way down here at, howard and market there. it's going to walk our well, some of these runners will be walking anyways down to ninth hay street hills up to fell street. you go through golden gate park and then eventually you get out here to the coast, all the way down to ocean beach, where it might be a little chilly out there. today we love bay to breakers and all the costumes, tortillas and fun. you can watch a live stream of the race on ktvu .com and fox local app starting at 8:00, so if you want to check it out, know that that is a live, unedited live stream. so anything can happen. and of course, amanda and yours truly and james will keep you updated throughout the program today as well. nice disclaimer there. >> yeah, you got to do it today. san francisco city leaders will
