hamas in a way that will minimize civilian casualties. i'm hopeful we are going to see all those changes unfolding here in the days ahead. >> martha: so why didn't president biden make this contingent that if you bring about a cease-fire, it will be in return for hostages? no cease-fire until the hostages were returned or are returned completely. that's always been netanyahu's goal so it looks like we are seeing this in reverse i'm just hoping that this will result in the release of hostages senator. >> a thing we're mischaracterizing what's going on. there was to be thousands of idf soldiers i have not heard president biden call for a cease-fire without the release of hostages. i think that this is the direction all of us are pressing for. that will remind you that president biden has repeatedly pushed carter and egypt that have direct indications with hamas to press amounts harder to release the hostages that they
