supplemental, so we have the police staffing necessary to have more police officers in our neighborhoods and to investigate violent crimes when they do occur. the mayor went on to say she's confident whoever is arrested will be held accountable. our time is now. 705 oakland mayor xiang tao says the city is operating back to 85% of normal after being hit with the ransomware attack. she gave us an update while talking to reporters during the event celebrating oakland's returned from the pandemic city hall at oakland is open again, more downtown businesses are back to in person work. mayor tao says the fbi is investigating that security breach and she confirmed hackers released even more personal information about current and former city employees as well as data about residents like those who filed a claim against oakland or applied for certain programs. situation ransomware, you can consider these as terrorists. we are working with the fbi. and just

needs to hold the san jose police officers association accountable for the actions of its former executive director. the demonstrators want the city to stop contract talks with the association last week, joanne segovia was charged with importing and distributing opioids across the country. we as a community was saying this needs to be investigated. there has to be actions taken. um and we don't expect the city and elected officials to be able to just conduct business as usual. segovia is not a city employees. san jose mayor matt mehan says the city is cooperating with the federal investigation, which includes the office of homeland security and the fbi. there is an independent investigation that's ongoing. and if there's any information the city has that that can support that. anyway. we're here to help. the police officers association also released a statement saying quote no other individuals associated with the p o. a is

city regarding their world cup bid. there's a meeting planned in two weeks. santa clara county supervisors have taken the first step in building more affordable housing. in san jose. the board approved spending more than $17 million to buy the land for three new affordable housing developments. the three projects would create a total of 313 new apartments for low income or unsheltered people. officials say each of the three projects already has other funding in place and construction. could begin in the next few months. 7 35 new numbers about school enrolment showed that statewide enrollment in public school still going down new data released by the california department of education shows more than 5.8 million students are enrolled in public schools statewide, but that's still down by more than 300,000 students since the pandemic. comparing 2019 to the current academic year enrollment numbers at the bay area's five biggest school

districts have dropped among them. san francisco unified has lost almost 5500 students. oakland unified has seen their enrollment dropped by 3800 and the free mind unified district by 2300. state officials say. it's the constantly tried to make sure that families are engaged with their education. california is set to receive $307 million to invest in drought resilience. it's part of a larger investment by the biden administration to issue money to 83 projects across 11 states. now california is receiving more than half of the funding for the project. the hope is to improve water storage and hydropower capabilities. farm workers evacuated from the flooding, amparo received some much needed help from another community recently hit by tragedy. a bus pulled into the shelter at the santa cruz county fairgrounds from half moon bay, bringing much needed household supplies and mental health counselors to help guide residents through the
