six. san jose police say they have captured six suspects wanted in connection with a string of smash and grab robberies in the south bay. hello again, everyone i'm julie julie haener band of heavily armed thieves that smashed their way into businesses grab what they can and runoff ktvu. south bay reporter jesse gary tells us police hope the arrests help people feel safe when they're out shopping. police investigators say these six men , all in their late teens or early twenties, or a smash and grab burglary ring that operated in the south bay, these are violent individuals are very happy to get this group of people. in jail so they don't continue to victimize our community department spokesman sergeant christian camarillo describe the six as rudimentary but also heavily armed. their m o break into stores, smashed display cases, runoff and fence the stolen property. months of detective work led to a one day roundup last week, ryan win had his quick silver jewelry repair

realized that there is one group responsible for more than one robbery yeah, we're going to give them a little bit more of a priority. san jose police say this one smash and grab crew is not the only one operating in the south bay. the urge people to continue to provide tips and videos to help police continue their pursuit of criminal suspects. in san jose jesse gary ktvu, fox two news also in san jose. police say they arrested a man who allegedly struck a police officer with his car after a sideshow yesterday. 19 year old isaac anthony guzman of loss, panos was booked on assault with a deadly weapon. felony hit and run, reckless evasion and possession of a loaded gun. the officer who was hit was treated at the hospital and released. officers say they found a ghost gun in guzman's car and ammunition. police responded to five separate side shows yesterday, all around san jose. in total eight arrests were made to for gun violations . three vehicles were impounded for 30 days and about 40 citations were issued for

spectator and mechanical violations. a 15 year old student who was stabbed today by an intruder at a high school and stockton has died. the female student was stabbed multiple times by a man who was trespassing. it's stag high school. that's according to stockton unified school district superintendent john ramirez jr. the suspect was arrested but has been described only as a man in his forties. police say he drove to the school and entered the campus through a gate this morning. the superintendent said. the district is now reevaluating its security. the campus was locked down due to the stabbing, authorities have uncovered the identity of a woman who was killed nearly 30 years ago on the side of a gilroy highway. the santa clara county sheriff's office today released the victim's name. she is identified as patricia skimp alot of colton, oregon. the 45 year old mother was killed in june of 1993 cause of death was never determined. simple was a victim of the happy face. serial killer keith hunter jesperson,

who wrote letters to officials, signing them with a happy face. just person is now serving four life sentences without the possibility of parole in the oregon state penitentiary pimples identity was determined with the help of the dope project and due to advances in dna technology. half dozen san francisco businesses are assessing the damage tonight after flames tore through several buildings in the west portal neighborhood. ktvu christien kafton arrived at the scene shortly after that fire erupted and, he tells us firefighters say this may have been started by roof workers in the area. fire officials are saying that that roof work was likely the cause of the fire, which burned from building to building to building before crews managed to get the upper hand. san francisco fire officials say the flames and smoke started at about 11 30, near the corner of west portal and 14th avenue. ray rudolph lives on the block where the flames broke out and had just minutes to grab his computer and camera equipment before he evacuated. he watched as a fire crept next door to his home and

fire crews worked to stop it. i saw the water coming up through the roof there. shooting through the roof. i saw the roof collapsing. fire officials say it appears that a crew working on the roof may have been the cause of this fire. rudolph said what he saw on the roof next door before he evacuated his home was alarming. i was watching the flames on the roofs and like a ton of smoke, and i saw like a propane tank or something. one firefighter received minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. the flames damaging a string of commercial buildings housing fuji, japanese restaurant west portal cleaners and a post office all impacted by the fire and water used to douse the flames. crews had to take aggressive measures to halt the fire's progression we've currently done with known as trench cut that's basically taking a square and cutting a line all the way through that square. that allows the fire to kind of come to a stop gap and go up from that point, allowing us to do what we call defensive

southern city of mariupol. so far, no humanitarian ceasefires have been agreed on. you need at least three day window to enable proper safe evacuation things to happen as yet we have not got agreement on that. we should pray. for the parties to understand the devastation that is happening as a result of the invasion of ukraine. ukraine formally submitted paperwork to join the european union today, president zelensky said joining the eu is quote the aspiration or people are moving towards and fighting for. a decision could come within weeks. livermore city, just shy of 90,000 people is dealing with its first homicide of 2022. detectives are now trying to piece together what happened over the weekend. ktvu tom baker has the story. livermore police and fire responded to a 911 call about eight friday evening about an injured unconscious girl in a car on a rural road near los pacientes college. there they found the body of a 15 year old

richmond girl, some 50 miles from her home. police are investigating the death as a homicide. it's livermore's first reported homicide of the year. investigators say they have identified a person of interest but have not made an arrest so far. livermore police have decided not to release the victim's name pending further investigation, the alameda county coroner's office told me that it has identified her but is awaiting approval from livermore homicide detectives to release that name. in checking social media. there were a number of condolences posted involving a person named destiny . we reached out to them, but we were unable to make contact, including this homicide. there have been 18 murders in livermore since 2000 and six about one year. tom baker, ktvu fox two news. couple of raindrops renegade raindrops working its way into the evening commute. otherwise the bulk of the activity will be arriving

happened to be a holiday in d. c and so it's the next day. it's not a holiday weekend if they have not yet filed. they want to make sure that at least estimate how much they owe and you want to pay by the tax day, april 18th. they can get more time to file they can get time until october, 15th, but you can't get extra time to pay. if they do. oh and don't pay it today, they are going to have a penalty that will be added on to that. but you can get an extension form 48 68 to get more time to file that you want to pay today and again . if you can't pay the total, it is important to pay at least something or to go on sort of payment plan with the i r s right can and you can actually do that. with that form 48 68 the extension form. uh and then if it still turns out you can't pay the i. r s does have some arrangements like, um, you know , paying over installments and things like that. there are a number of variables this year

that taxpayers are looking at starting to look first, at perhaps the child tax credit or stimulus payments. what do people have to know about making sure they include those numbers when they file folks who have a child under age. 18 should have been getting a letter in january from the i r s saying how much of the child tax credit they got in advance and that will go on after tax forms schedule 88 12 where they reconcile that. they also should have gotten a letter as to how much stimulus payment they got. probably they received it late march april, and it could have been 1400 per taxpayer and if they did not get that, but we're entitled to it. they want to claim that on their 2020 return. so they want to make sure they've got the information from those letters. if they're using tax prep software, it'll asking the right questions to get that properly reported. they want to make a mistake on that, because either they are going to overlook getting some money back or thinking that getting more money

15 s found dead in livermore. the teenager's body was found friday night in a coral car on a rural road near los posadas college. authorities have not released the victim's name. investigators say they have a person of interest. but have not made any arrests yet in san francisco's west portal neighborhood has affected residents and businesses in three buildings. firefighters say the roof of one building is partially collapsed . we're told the fire started at west portal avenue and 14th just after 11 30 this morning. one firefighter was hurt, but the injuries are not life threatening. authorities say roof work was likely the cause of that fire after a long 10 game road trip to start the season, the oakland a's or taking on the baltimore orioles tonight in front of a home crowd , first pitch now, just about 10 minutes away. and the crowd at the oakland calcium is more than ready. this afternoon, there was
