schools say. he is a meeting with law enforcement and mental health experts and teachers to come up with ideas in the governor's office released a statement and out of the announcement saying his plan will feature major changes to school safety. president trump is defending his suggestion that some teachers be armed with guns so they can protect students. during a meeting with state and local leaders, he said shooters would not walk into a school in 20% of the teachers at times. he also suggested raising the age to buy a rifle to 21. the present is backing a ban on the sale of bob.. they turn a semi automatic rifle into a fully automatic weapon. the president said he would support comprehensive background checks. in the bay area there was a backlash for many educators to the present idea to let teachers carry guns. the head of the oakland teachers association called it

talked to the nra about gun safety. the head of the nra spoke yesterday on the first day of the conservative political action conference. he criticized the fbi for failing to act on tips of the florida shooting suspect and that he may have been planning a shooting. he also last out against opponents who say they are trying to strip away the constitutional right to bear arms is . >> they hate the nra in the second amendment. they hate individual freedoms. . >> political watchdog group say that in a race that . >> spent more than $30 million supporting president trump candidacy.

they say in the 70s and 80s the nra transformed from a hunting and gun enthusiasts club to a powerful political lobbying group. but becomes not just from the annual fee but also from gun manufacturers. the there is an argument to be made that the reason the nra is so uncompromising is because of that constituency. if you look at survey data, there are a number of issues where members themselves would be willing to compromise to support modest gun-control measures. and the organization as a whole has opposed it. >> the head of the nra criticized several democratic senators. there has been speculation that the senators make consider running for president in 2020. car rental company enterprise is ending a discount for members of the nra.

a san jose high school track coach is now facing child sonography charges. one week after his twin brother was arrested on the same charge. he was a coach at oak grove high school. his home was searched this weekend they found child sonography of several devices that he owned. the school district said, there is no reason to believe that our students were involved in any way with this misconduct. they also say he has been fire. his twin brother is a former pe teacher at willow glen middle school and is facing chopper not the charges. with new information about yesterday morning's deadly crash and bay point, raul ochoa is facing dui and manslaughter charges in the crash that killed his passenger and two other people were injured. he landed in the front yard of a nearby home. his passenger was alejandra

proposing a bill to allow officers to immediately suspend the driver's licenses of people under the age of 21 caught driving under the influence of marijuana. state senator cherry hill says the bill would create a zero tolerance policy similar to driving under the influence of alcohol but there is one exception for drivers who use medical marijuana and you have the documents to prevent. san francisco expanded the residential parking permit program for teachers to include smaller schools to help preschool teachers find a place to park and will now include schools with less than 15 teachers. the residential permits allow for parking for more than two hours. mayor mark farrell says this will help teachers who work in schools with limited access to mass transit. a silicon valley billionaire is going to the supreme court to fight public access to a beach that he owns near the san mateo coast. he is the cofounder two
