. a woman shot dead outside her vallejo apartment. >> what may have been the mettive for the crime. terrifying moments for a freeway. what led to the crash in oakland early this morning. >> we are live in san francisco where a water main break over the weekend causes headaches for customers and businesses. and which remains closed and which has damaged goods. they will force evacuations in the east bay. "mornings on 2" begins right now. this is ktvu, "mornings on 2". 7:00. looking at the scene of a deadly shooting in vallejo. where a woman was gunned down in the middle of the street.

to you. and they are pacing together what led up to the deadly shooting. they are telling us the victim of the case lives here ons street and-on the street and she was visiting a friend. someone showed up at the front door and opened fire on the woman leaving her dead. detectives were out here collecting evidence in and around this apartment. this is what the scene looked like all morning long. this happened at the apartment building at island way and they heard a number of shots. she was found shot to death just outside of one of the units. the motive for the crime is unclear. one neighbor said it may have been racially motivated. she saw a man who was taken into custody last night here and tells me the man that was taken into custody lives right next door to the shooting scene and in the past, the manmade racial shower assist towards

the street. holding a gun in his hand. glaring at passing cars. the officers who rushed to the scene were forced to shoot him when he pointed his gun at them. the suspect was wounded in the gunfire and there is though word on his condition. >> time is 7:05. they are trying to determine if a homeless camp maybe to blame with the fast-moving fire which came dangerously close to homes. >> thousand, this is cellphone footage you are looking at. >> this is all the heavy smoke out there. it started in the grassy part of highway 12 near back avenue. >> homes were evacuated as the fire spread. and they joined manufactures in battling the flames. >> knocking on the neighbors and this is a big fire and everything. and then after that, my husband is out there watering everything. >> about 100 firefighters rushed to the scene.
