mentality. >> air jordon fever spread across the country. in seattle more than a thousand lined up outside one mall. they started hitting and shoving each other, police pepper sprayed about 20 customers to try it break up the fight. one was arrested after he allegedly pushed an officer. some customers outside an indiana shopping center got tired of waiting broke the doors off the hinges and pushed their way inside the mall. the chaos then escalated when the shoe was sold out and security eventually was forced to call police. tempers outside a north carolina store. two women waiting to buy air jordons got into a fight. one said the other tried to cut the line. more than two dozen police were on duty to help keep the peace. the air jordon shoe first debuted in 1985. it sold for $65 a mare.

the travel is up 4% compared to last year. nationwide 92 million are expected to hit the road. that's an increase of more than a million people. a number of bay area police agencies plan to put a checkpoint starting tonight. part of the 17 day holiday campaign designed to catch drunk drivers. they plan to have every available officer on the road between six this evening and midnight on monday. >> the police are investigating a deadly crash. a motorcycle crash that tied up traffic for hours today on the bay bridge. the motorcycle hit a toyota on the upper deck near the bridge's s curve around 10:45 this morning. witnesses say the motorcyclist was speeding. he was thrown from the bike and died at the scene. the driver and passenger in the toyota were not hurt. the two right westbound lanes were blocked about two hours. >> berkeley police looking for

a gunman. the shots were fired at 66th street and sacramento avenue. police say officers otherrer arrived about three minutes after getting the first call but the man was gone. a portion of sacramento was closed for about two hours while officers went door to do looking for the gunman. they didn't release the name its of thes victims. >> walnut creek place say they have arrested a man on suspicious of committing lewd act was a child. they say they took the 44-year- old john astor into custody. then they serve aid search warrant. >> what we collected from his home is computer related, anything he can store, images on, notes, photographs, anything like that. >> police say the victim is a boy under 14 who was not a student at any of the schools

where astor works. because he works at several schools they are trying to find if there are other victims. a san francisco man accused of posing as a doctor is in jail tonight. coming up in nine minutes what he is a accused of preforming on patients and the charms is he chases. >> earlier the mayor called those two power outages at candlestick a national embarrassment. now it turns out the city is admitting responsibility for one of them. the stadium went dark at the start of the game between the 49ers and the steelers. the power then did it again during the second quarter. in a letter the mayor said a switch on the stadium's back up power system malfunctioned and the city is responsible because it operates and maintains the stadium. pg&e has taken responsibility for the first outage.

and retail space. new tenants include haven, a new restaura peterson and solar company sun jevity has signed on. >> several gay friendly clergy have been uninvited to speak at a catholic church in san francisco. they included james bar and roland stringfellow. they were supposed to speak at most holy redeemer church. the church was ordered to take back the invite. a man is under arrest accused of being a fake doctor in san francisco's mission district. the 49-year-old alli operated a clinic called derma clinic on mission street. he faces charges for stealing the identity of a doctor's assistant and preforming medical procedures on two victims without a license.

. an army investigation says as many as 6 5,000 graves at arlington appear to have some kind of problem ranging errors in the record to miss identified remains. this after a year long study ordered by congress. the most are in the civil war graves. the army said it'll take six months to sort it out. bay area organizations dedicated to helping the homeless say they welcome the announcement by the federal government. the ball administration announced its handing out $76 million to keep programs operating. 200 organizations here in the bay area are among those that will receive grants the department of housing urban development. for example the city of san $19 million for its homeless shelters and other

valley overnight tonight, begins later on tonight into early tomorrow morning. santa rosa forecast low of 26, san jose 31 and san francisco cold downtown and in the lower 40s to start out your saturday. it has been a very dry december, with high pressure in command of the weather. few high clouds will sneak into the bay area as we head in to the second half of the weekend on christmas day. can see the three days of rain, hasn't been much. the 11th, 12th and 15. another dry week and a dry forecast. this weekend once again am frost, temperatures in the 20s and 30s then fair skies into the afternoon hours, few extra high clouds could head in on sunday for christmas day. temperatures for afternoon highs mainly in the upper 50s to the lower 60s. here -- tomorrow morning you will notice this -- earlier this morning the temperature on timeline in to the afternoon. basically back up in to the 50s
