delta gateway boulevard around 2 o'clock this afternoon. the accident forcing all westbound lanes to close those have since reopened contra costa fire says 6 people had to be taken to the hospital. no word tonight on their conditions. all lanes of the bay bridge back open tonight after a grass fire on your island. >> traffic was snarled in both directions in the bay bridge for hours as crews worked to put out that fire. at one point, all eastbound lanes were closed as firefighters had their hoses and other equipment in the lanes. fire boats, as you can see here, also brought in to help out crews say the strong winds made the battle challenging. the fire, though, was contained around 6.45. evening. all right. let's get you a check. your 4 zone forecast now as we take a live look at the golden gate bridge this evening. kron four's gayle ong joining us with a look at the forecast to go.

>> hello again. so we are a little cooler. we have a weak system that will be cooling us down, but also clearing out the clouds and breaking that out. i know we've been starting off on a cloudy we will see some more clearing in the morning along the coast to so temperatures out the door. we are in. that's backed that up there and we're in the low 50's in san francisco. 56 oakland, 54 in livermore and 54 in half moon bay. so now we're down 81 to 4 degrees. 3 degrees down in livermore this time yesterday, winds have calmed down with the exception of fairfield delta breeze blowing at 32 miles an hour. and everywhere else is relatively calm. you know, usually we get our sea breeze in the afternoon. so you do see some cloud coverage is hovering the coast there tonight. but as i mentioned, that should be backing off tomorrow overnight. so the rest of the weekend, we will be warming up. it looks like upper 70's for you in lynn and we will gradually warm up start of the week. so we'll storm a low around the bay and the coast in the upper 50's

and 60's. back to you. >> all thanks a lot. in the east bank, chp makes an arrest in connection with a fatal hit and run. police say the driver struck and killed someone wednesday night in san leandro. the victim was found lying in the street at lewelling boulevard and embers way. police later found the car wanted in connection with the hit and run on friday. the suspected driver was booked into santa rita jail and his bail was set at $125,000. happening now, 2 major roads in the bay area are partially closed as crews are working on repairs. the eastbound lanes of highway 37 are closed between sonoma and solano counties. crews have a detour is beginning at the highway. 37 highway one. 21 interchange near sears point. the closure runs through 5 in the morning on monday and a portion of sik city also close this weekend as a paving project continues there. caltrans says the work of facts. southbound 6.80, between al costa boulevard in san ramon and the 5, 86, 80

was quite a sight for a family in the south bay. a mountain lion was caught on home security video prowling through yard in san jose. take a look. this is from around 5.30, this morning. you can see the mountain lion there captured lead being up on the fence and taking a little look around. maybe see if the coast is clear before eventually walking along the top trail there and just kind of sensing then, you know, the way things are going, then it decides to balance itself out and make another leap into the. bamboo hedges of this yard. homeowner tom blackburn says that he's lived in the evergreen neighborhood in the mount hamilton foothills for more than 40 excuse me for more than 30 years and has never seen anything like this. >> this is actually the first one. we've we get a lot

santa rosa and a close to 80 as well in livermore and then notice antioch is should be 80 degrees. 76 in san jose. 57 in half moon bay 60's in a san we'll be starting off in the 50's. if you're going to that bay to breakers, will be some cloudy skies and a light freeze. so very nice running weather and in the 70's as you make your way towards the north bay in mill valley and nevado. and here is the 7 day outlook. as you can see, we will be warming we have a slight warming trend for the start the week or tuesday inland. you could see 84 and the bay hill staying in the low 70's and the coast will also remain seasonably cool in the low 60's and upper 50's. but you know, i'll have another heat spike, but it looks like we'll have some quiet weather for the next few days. it that summer pattern with the clouds at the coast. clearing inland. yeah. all right. not a bad looking forecast, though, especially if you're through the tunnel, right? exactly. >> all right, kelly, thank you. chair. well, hundreds of

republicans from across california are in the bay area this weekend for the state gop convention. >> this year's convention is set to bring more than 800 attendees to burlingame, including republican national committee co-chair lara trump and south dakota governor kristi noem, who actually spoke today, party chairwoman jessica millan patterson says this weekend is all about garnering support and spreading the party's message at the november election, including an effort to keep republicans in control. the u.s. house of representatives. >> california republicans responsible for bringing house majority the road to holding on to that house majority and rally that house majority come straight from california. you know, we picked up 5 house seats in the same time that democrats have lost 6 house seats right here california. they're going to come at us with everything that they've got. the problem is they don't have solutions. republicans are showing up. >> the connection is also addressing internal matters, including a vote on party

the edge of the bay area all the way to the oregon border. the california public utilities commission says next year 8, 3, 7, will be added as an overlay to the 5, 3, oh, area code. the decision is because 5, numbers are expected to be exhausted by 2025, the change should only effect new services or when adding an additional line. a bill that would have scrutinized a new electricity charge for californians is not moving forward. the assembly appropriations committee killing that bill on friday. the public utilities commission led by governor newsom's appointees approved the new charge of $24 and $0.15 last week in return for paying the new fee. customers will get a lower rate for their power. the state's electric electric rates of the second highest in the country. the new fee spark outrage, which is why the bill was introduced. the committee did not explain why they killed the bay area is celebrating black restaurant week black owned food trucks, bakeries

new york have arrested a man wanted for the random attack on actor steve buscemi. 50 year-old clifton williams. a homeless man has been charged with second-degree assault. authorities began looking for him after the 66 year-old bush emmy was punched in the face earlier this month. well, he was walking in midtown manhattan. a man having an unusual counter with a tow truck and its operator. this began after the man's car was being towed. them and their

charles alexander left his doctor's office in los angeles and saw that his car was missing. moments later, he saw going by in the back of a flatbed truck. and of course, we want to get back. so what do, he jumped onto the flatbed trucks. driver continued on all the way to the tow yard. alexander did get the car back the same day. but he still had to pay for interesting way of going about things. all right. to some other news now, the city of kyle, texas still needs more people named kyle the town once again attempting to break a world record today. a a hope to bring together hundreds of people who are all named kyle. this year. just about 700 kyle's showed up last year. the city managed to attract almost 1500 kyle's, but that fell short of the record for the largest same

>> now to your 4 zone forecast. we're taking a look at the financial district tonight. we can see the fog in the clouds start to move in here. yeah, long joining us with a look ahead. let's >> hello. well, we have that bay to breakers forecast. if you're going to take part in the race and we have a low 50's for un cloudy part, mostly cloudy skies. so that's very nice running weather and, you know, just really fun time. and the costumes are always a fun time. and the tortilla tossing as well. so, yes, it will be very lively and francisco tomorrow morning. but we have some clouds tonight. and now the good news is we won't see as much much clouds we saw today the last couple of days. so here's that future cast model. so usual, places like the coast and the half and the areas you have pay and some parts of the valleys like livermore. and you will see some patchy fog in the morning and then that will start to clear out the late morning in the afternoon. so we could see mostly sunny skies. and then here sunday evening, we're

bench. ali busted open woman stole nearly $300 in cash and then ran away. she was later found in a nearby storm. she was then arrested and booked into jail for robbery. a canine with the california highway patrol sniffing out more than 500 grams of fentanyl during a traffic stop in san francisco. chp says an officer stopped a driver for a mechanical violation near westbound 80 last week when the officer detained the driver for not having a license. the officers canine partner there spelled the drugs in the car. good boy, good girl. thanks to that dog right there. chp say seized more than 500 grams of fentanyl. nearly 160 grams of methamphetamine. more than 70 grams of heroin. 80 grams of xanax and 20 other grams of unknown prescription painkillers. the driver was booked into jail on drug charges. a high-speed rail line that will eventually connect san francisco to southern california clears another major hurdle. the la times reporting that the california high-speed rail
