actually one of our cooler spots all the way down into the upper 40's. santa rosa down at 40 degrees right now. little bit of fog out towards the delta, but clear out towards the coastline. and rainfall is a distant memory at this point, partly cloudy during the morning, but mostly sunny towards the afternoon. as for temperatures today, we're going to stay in the 60's easily. the coolest day of this forecast before seeing temperatures gradually rising back into the 70's and eventually the low 80's. back to you. okay. all right. let's get a quick check of the roads this morning. want to begin with the book at the bay bridge. >> where we've got traffic building, but still looking pretty good here. looks like a 15 minute drive from the maze out towards fremont street in san francisco. the richmond sandra fell bridge looking good. also, we've got a summit, 7 minute drive there. and the san mateo bridge highway. 92 westbound. alright, 13 minutes to get from one end to the other. and then our final stop for you this morning is the golden gate bridge where it looks like it's just 37 minutes to get from a highway. 37 in

novato down into san francisco. 601, is the time right now. want to get to our top story to women. >> dying. they were shot in napa over the weekend. yeah. now now police are asking for any witnesses to come forward. proffers michael thomas has been following the story for us up in napa. michael. >> hi, everyone will still a lot of unanswered questions this morning after those 2 young women were killed here in napa over the weekend, which is a rare occurrence for the area causing alarm tent. many neighbors nearby and the killer still on the loose with police keeping a tight lipped about details. we've got video up on your screen. according to napa police. it happened around 8 o'clock on saturday evening. that's when 2 young women were found shot in the middle of the street on the 400 block of riverside drive that runs along napa river and is just blocks away from downtown. each woman had at least one gunshot wound and one died there on the scene while the other was rushed to a nearby hospital and later died. there. but police have

yet to identify either victim. neighbors tell us both girls were teens and at least one was in high school. take a listen to how residents reacted to the deadly situation. lost 2 young. >> young people, a friend of mine knew the father of the child. it was my child. i would i don't even know. words can it's pretty crazy. stuff like that. and we happened around here. you know, it's a pretty >> pretty calm area. i mean, i've been here 2 years and i've never really seen stuff like that. >> no information has been given on who the shooter might be or the reasoning behind this deadly shooting. but we are expected to get more information from the napa county, major crimes unit who's heading the investigation as we get those details will keep you updated back out here live. we're also hoping to get more information on those victims. so as we get all of that gathered will keep you updated live this morning in napa, michael thomas story. james, we'll send it back to you. all right. we'll check that later for more details. thank you.

>> the big story is the chaos and oakland, several sideshows on city streets over the weekend. you can see cars doing donuts here and look at this. >> there were fireworks shot into the air and fires in cars. they were set on fire. police say these broke out in several locations, including on claremont avenue and college avenue albatross ave and telegraph ave della derby at and mandela parkway to officees blocked the road near one of those shows when a car forced its way through the line of police cruisers and people were detained. several people were detained by the police. >> a family-run jewelry store in oakland is working to get back on their feet after they had a violent robbery take place. here's video from last wednesday. we can see several masked men armed with guns smashing the glass cases. this happened at phone jewelry. the

robbers took off with the owner's husband are they took off actually when the owner's husband came out with a gun. the owner's son says that most of the inventory in the store was stolen. >> this robbery and you know that this past was it was probably one of the most brazen never before. we've had 8. if jewels rushed to business get away cars, we worked really hard for everything we've got, but we're going to be some type times they were able to get in we get back on own 2 feet. we're going to get back. we're going to get back to the community. >> jewelry has been in oakland's chinatown since the 1980's. the family says that they are saying full for the outpouring of support from the community. there is a gofundme page set up now to help them raise money to rebuild their business. >> well, to san francisco jails are now on lockdown after a number of inmates that acts number of inmate attacks on deputies and other staff.

the union that represents the deputies is demanding the immediate deployment of the california national guard. the lockdowns are happening at county jails, 2, 3, where the sheriff's office says 7 staff members have been injured by inmates since march. 29th. happening today. the port of oakland is warning workers that protests may happen today as part of and international blockade of ports. this is video from a previous protest at the port back in january. and like then today's demonstrators are expected to demand the u.s. and its support of israel in gaza. protest organizers haven't said when today's protest will take place. we'll let you know if and when it happens. >> it's 605, in the south bay, san jose residents are urging the santa clara county board of supervisors to keep the regional medical trauma center open. city leaders are going to join the communicate community and they're going take action against this closure at noon today, the hospital's trauma center treats burns and smoke and heart attack victims. and in february regional med center announced that they were going

to be closing because of a decline in patients. the er is going to remain open. however, the board will vote on the future of that facility tomorrow. kron four's local election headquarters in the race for congressional district. 16 is being recounted starting today. this is congresswoman anna eshoo, his old seat. sam liccardo came in first at enloe and joe, somebody in tied for second. they both have 16.6% of the vote. and it could take up to 5 days for this recount to be finished. >> well, the warriors are looking ahead now to the playoffs after beating utah jazz in their last regular season game. the team also honored a father and son from the lay. whoa, who died unexpectedly and game 8 years ago. yeah. so kron 4 sarah stinson has their story. >> the warriors gave one fan the biggest gift of all by winning the last game of the regular season on his birthday, this win means even

more to david nunez. he shares his birthday with his son who sadly died at a game back in 2016. he attended this game in his honor. >> dubnation packed into chase center sunday afternoon for the last regular season game against utah. david nunez got surprise with a jersey from the warriors while so liberating his 70th birthday at the game in vallejo, nunez raised his 2 children to be dedicated dubs fans. we've loved the warriors. >> forever and i brought them up. >> to be warrior fans. but in 2016 tragedy struck the family while in a playoff game at oracle arena, new news, his son justin suddenly passed away. justin was just 35 years old. collapsed. >> up the stairs it. pulmonary embolism and that can resuscitate him and >> i watched him die. despite the pain, nunez continues to

go to games. he says it's what his son would have wanted. i still come to games in his honor, not bringing his son. his son and i went to oracle on the last game at oracle and first game here, chase a preseason game. my grandson i got nunez says he's grateful for the warriors who have been supportive ever since that fateful their special to us. they really treat us well. new year's is hoping his dubs can keep it going on the court as well. but we have to wind when keep going and you know, i think we can do it. we have the squad. >> most wars fans are feeling the same way. i have faith. they can take it all the way. we'll have to see how they play versus the kean's. the warriors play against the kings on tuesday in sacramento. this is a win or go home situation. it's sure to be a nail-biter fans will be able to attend here at home, but they can go to a watch party at thrive city. it

the past. it really is. that would be a very beautiful week ahead of us. but last week was kind of an up and down is quite a lot. what we're looking at ahead of us is a nice, pretty steady week forecast. we're going to be looking at temperatures gradually on the rise and back to some familiar warmth that we enjoyed last week. little bit of cloud cover overhead this morning today is going to start partly to mostly cloudy, but gradually become mostly sunny. all that rainfall and mountain snow that we saw over the weekend is now exiting the region. low pressure on the out high pressure ridge building back in and this will contribute to the steady and warming forecast ahead of us. getting a look at the skies. i mentioned partly cloudy to start, but you will see more and more sunshine towards the afternoon. tomorrow is going to be a little bit warmer yet and a little bit clearer as well with temperatures continuing to rise into wednesday. so where is today going to land? it's going to be a bit warmer than yesterday, but still on the cool side of things, definitely cooler than average for this time of year. 50's at the coast while 60's for the rest of us foster city at 64

commute direction. 14 minutes to get from hayward out to foster city. and one final stop for you this morning. the golden gate bridge, warde southbound, 1, one still making good time from 37 to the toll plaza. 19 minutes to cross that stretch of road. all right. let's get back to the headlines at 6.16, at police arrest 4 miners for a carjacking in fairfield this weekend. the incident was caught on camera and the footage showed the suspects traveling eastbound on travis boulevard from interstate 80 officers followed that car into trayveon court. and from there, the suspects jumped out and ran away as the car was still moving. police eventually took them all into custody. the driver turns out had a previous warrant for his arrest. take a look at this. marin county fire crews rescued 6 adults and one child after their boat capsized in tomorrow's bay saturday afternoon. >> firefighters say it was a nearby boater that called for help. and when crews got on scene, they found the 4 clinging to the overturned boat. they were all safely brought to shore and treated

i'm giving him the protection he needs to defend against it. learn more at first5california.com. 6.24. is the time. and in santa clara county sheriff's deputy pulled over a car a-d found a man inside. >> was pretending to be a police officer. so we have footage here of the car that was pulled over. see the flashing lights. police pulled over the car for expired tags. and according to the deputy, the driver was wearing a uniform with the word police on it. the driver had a duty belt in a bulletproof vest during a search of the car. the deputy also found guns, meth and those flashing lights that are used by first responders. deputies arrested him on a number of charges, including impersonating a peace officer. >> it's 6.25 and east bay. 2 people were critically injured when their car crashed into a fire truck in walnut creek. this was near 6.80, at the olympic boulevard. exit saturday morning. the truck

was blocking southbound lane to protect. firefighters were responding to an earlier crash. 4 firefighters were in the truck when the car hit. they were not hurt. the 2 people in the car were taken to the hospital in critical condition. meantime, there are 2 different drivers that hit a fire truck that was parked at an accident scene in fremont. this all happened around 7 o'clock saturday morning and 6.80, near the arcade exit. the fire crews there were helping the victims of an accident when 2 different cars and the fire engine had to be towed away. 6 timber businesses are filing a 225 million dollar lawsuit against pg any over damages caused by the 2021. dixie fire. the companies say that pg e improperly managed the forests and failed to comply with the states. public utilities act as well as not doing enough to prevent the second largest fire in the

day of the rest of the forecast. only reaching the 60's this afternoon. i'll give you the full breakdown of the rest of the forecast. still to come back to you. all right. thank you very much. time now, 6.30. let's check the roads this morning. the bay bridge. all a bit of a big buildup here at the toll plaza, but nothing out of the ordinary. still just 16 minutes to get from the macarthur maze. >> into san francisco. here, check of the richmond. sandra fell bridge as we gauge the ride on westbound 5.80, looking good again. just 9 minutes to get across that span. and then san mateo bridge camera shows we've got some pretty decent conditions on the span. 14 minutes to get from hayward out towards foster city on the peninsula and then for the north bay, if you're driving from marin county into san francisco as part of your commute across the golden gate bridge is just 19 minutes right now to get from nevada all the way down into san francisco with again, a lot of gaps between the cars, more weather and traffic in a minute. let's go back to the headlines. 6.31 and cinco de mayo is just a couple weeks away. the holiday brings

massive crowds to san jose. does. last year's san jose police are criticized for how they were patrolling the event. >> kron four's jack moment spoke with people in the low rider community about what advice they have. eddie lewis with the united low-rider council. san jose was born and raised. >> and what he calls east side way growing up in the side that fall, you >> we didn't have a brand new cars like other parts of san jose. so he and his friends did what they could showed off what they so we wanted to show off what we can do besides you don't you don't pick in the fields and stuff like that. he says he planned to celebrate his culture last year. cinco de mayo celebration in san jose. but being the wife went out for about 5 minutes and i saw that and we just took off and i want to part of it. what he saw was a huge police presence. in fact, officers arrested more than 100 people shut down multiple highway off-ramps. >> a public outcry followed

calling sjpd is response discriminatory. lewis says it reminds him of low ratings past where this kind of activity would get you in trouble. san jose and cruising for nearly 4 decades making it legal just 2 years ago. >> so they stereotype, if standing had a car, >> you a criminal. lewis says have the low reading council have been working with san jose police for months at this time. san jose police named to the roads plans to close down and warned of potential traffic divers. it's something lewis says is a good move for transparency. yeah, feel at ease. we asked san jose police for an interview today but they were not available. >> so the goal is now after all these community meetings between the low rider community and san jose police around 300 of these low riders will be successfully cruising down the street of san jose on cinco de mayo. and the plus is that the low rider community is working to build san jose police their very own reading car. in san jose jacmel but kron 4 news.

>> alright, alright 6.33, is the time. and people living in san jose can now report vehicle complaints through an app. the city's 3, 1, 1, now allows residents to report everything from blight to graffiti, potholes and even report abandoned vehicles on the street. people can report anonymously and follow their progress on that app, which used to have to be reported to the transportation department just this year alone, the city has received more than 6,000 complaints about abandoned vehicles. 3, 1, 1, app is also now able to cross reference with the city's list of stolen vehicles. in the east bay and unfortunately is dead following a crash in antioch. police say the man was driving in the northbound lanes of auto center drive at a high rate of speed when it crashed into one of the car. yesterday was about 4 o'clock. they say the driver actually t-bone. the lexus suv in the intersection of west 10th street. he died at the scene. the 2 women in the suv had to be taken to the hospital. they're expected to be okay.

officers are asking any witnesses to come forward and scrap what happened happening today. the man accused of hiding a camera and a starbucks bathroom >> appears in court. police say that 35 year, louis har juarez, junior planted the camera in the bathroom in the location of starbucks, west taylor street and coleman avenue. that one officials say that an employee at the starbucks was one who actually noticed that hidden camera on january 31st. it was under the restroom sink. the employee called 9-1-1. and by then, of course, that's when it was notice before that there was footage of 91 people on that camera, including children as young as 4 years old who were in the bathroom. it is 6.34 and tomorrow convicted killer scott peterson is set to be back in a courtroom in redwood city. it will be the first of 3 hearings in an effort to get his conviction overturned. he was convicted in 2004 of

murdering his pregnant wife, laci and their unborn child. he has maintained his innocence. he was sentenced to life in prison earlier this year. the los angeles innocence project which takes on cases that think might wrongful convictions. they took peterson case. lawyers are asking a judge to approve new dna testing and have evidence reexamined. well, former pastor in san jose has now been charged with 6 felony counts of child abuse. this comes after. >> investigation was launched for allegations surfaced about his time as a youth ministry leader. investigators say brett by master is accused of committing lewd acts with a child who was as young as 8 at the river church. he's now been booked into the elmwood correctional facility. a judge revoked his eligibility for bail during his arraignment, at least until the next scheduled hearing, which is set for friday. the arrest comes after a second investigation by the river

church in 3 years regarding by masters alleged actions. in the north bay correctional officer from city has pleaded guilty to taking bribes from inmates to smuggle in phones. stephen crittendon was a prison guard at the california medical facility in vacaville and for 2021 to 2023, he accepted bribes of more than $45,000 from inmates who wanted him to smuggle them. cell phones. crittenton pleaded guilty to bribery concerning programs receiving federal funds and is scheduled to be sentenced in september. he's now facing a maximum of 10 years and federal prison and a $250,000 fine. >> fans are mourning a beloved cartoonists who was known for expanding visibility of women in comics. trina robbins passed away in san francisco at the age of 85. she died on friday. she was inducted into the will. eisner comics hall of fame in 2013, she became
