in napa. good evening and thank you for joining us for kron. 4 news at 10. i'm dan thorn tonight. we're learning that 2 people may have been teenage girls. kron f%ur's jack moment has reaction from the neighborhood. >> well, wasn't too long ago that this peaceful street riverview drive was crowded with dozens of cop cars responding to a shooting in which 2 people were shot and killed. one here on the scene and one later at the hospital. not neighbors say despite the shooting taking place, they want to put it out there that this is a safe neighborhood and that they've never seen anything like this for me is safe place to with her granddaughter's by her side of the park on sunday. >> one of the pavement so says this is a safe place. she said, though, she shocked that this happened not even just a day ago. mike is not like. a place to sue this things happen all around here. get surprised i find out about police say the shooting happened around 8 in the evening saturday. they found 2 victims there. the potential

like that. >> despite many of the neighbors here telling us that they've heard that these 2 people who died were teenage girls. they say have no idea who the shooter is. now, when i reached out to napa police over what happened here, they say they can't tell us any information related to the ongoing investigation, but they did say we could expect to see some information in the coming day or 2. for now, we're in napa, jack moment. kron 4 news. >> overnight, chaos in oakland and several sideshows take over city streets. video showing cars spinning out intersections fireworks being shot in air and sea. huge crowd circling around at one point, at least 2 cars were seen engulfed in flames in oakland. police say the sideshows broke out on claremont avenue and college avenue, alcatraz avenue and telegraph avenue and derby avenue and mandela parkway. video also showing officers setting up a roadblock near one of those sideshows, a person driving a white

infiniti forces their way through the line of police cruisers. police say multiple people were detained. investigations are still ongoing tonight. now to a developing story tonight to san francisco county jails are now on lockdown. the san francisco sheriff's office says >> this follows a number of inmate attacks on deputies and other jail staff, the union and the union that represents the deputies is demanding the immediate deployment of the california national guard lockdowns are happening at county jails 2, 3, union says that jails dealing with staffing shortages and issues with security. the sheriff's office says 7 staff members have been injured by inmates since march. 29th. >> take a look at this marin county fire crews rescuing 6 people, including a child after a boat capsized into bay yesterday afternoon. firefighters say a voter was able to call for help when they arrived, the passengers were clinging to the overturned boat. all passengers suffering from cold

exposure and they were evaluated by paramedics. we've got new video tonight from a firefighter's perspective as they battled a house fire in san leandro. alameda county firefighters say they were able to put out these flames on fleming street around. 45 minutes. sadly, 2 families are displaced tonight. and the south bay, san jose residents urging the santa clara county board of supervisors to keep the regional regional medical trauma center open tomorrow. city officials are joining the community to take action against the closure. the hospital's trauma center is a level 2, which means they treat burn victims and victims of stroke and heart attacks back in february, regional medical center announced that they would close the center because of a decline in patients. the are the er, though, is going to remain open. the board will vote on what the future of the center looks like on tuesday. happening tomorrow around the world, there will be port blockades and one is set for the bay area. the port of oakland will be a part of an

economic blockade. this is video from a previous port protest. the protesting the quote. free palestine. keep you updated on all of this as it happens tomorrow. now to some national news tonight, the international community is on edge as they wait to see how israel will respond to saturday's attack by ron. we're learning more about the recent attacks in israel where officials say iran launched hundreds of drones and missiles at israel on saturday forcing people into bomb shelters. this is after a suspected israeli air strike killed a top iranian general and syria. the violence is putting the middle east on high alert and renewing concerns about the war in gaza. whether or not that expand into a regional conflict. coming up at 10, 30, we've got more on how u.s. officials are reacting. also happening tomorrow, jury selection is set to start in the historic criminal trial against former president donald trump. the manhattan cases tied to alleged hush money payments involving star.

stormy daniels ahead of 2016 election manhattan da's accusing the former president of falsifying business records with regards to those payments. prosecutors claim the money was in exchange for daniel staying quiet about an alleged affair with donald trump. the former president has denied the affair and pleaded not guilty. jury selection is expected to take a few days. well, don't forget, taxes are due tomorrow in california, along with 11 other states. and if you made $79,000 or less last year, you can actually file for free on the irs website. that's thanks to a new direct direct file pilot program that just rolled out this year. if you file electronically should not expect a to b refund immediately. it'll take about 3 weeks. and if you opt for direct deposit, that will be a lot faster the average refund this year is about 3,000 bucks. if you're not ready by tomorrow, you can file for an extension and that will give you another 6 months to get it done. the warriors are looking

2016 tragedy struck the family while in a playoff game at oracle arena, new news, his son justin suddenly passed away. justin was just 35 years old. collapsed. >> up the stairs, had it. pulmonary embolism and that can resuscitate him and >> i watched him die. despite the pain, nunez continues to go to games. he says it's what his son would have wanted. i still come to games in his honor, not bringing his son. his son and i went to oracle on the last game at oracle and first game here, chase a preseason game. my and i got union says he's grateful for the warriors who have been supportive ever since that fateful their special to us. they really treat us well. new year's is hoping his dubs can keep it going on the court as well. but we have to wind when keep going and you know, i think we can do it. we have the squad.

we will be waking up to some chilly temperatures, especially in the north bay valleys, east bay valleys like santa rosa in livermore and a 45 for you in half. moon bay, mid 40's, upper 40's for all of you. and here is your 4 zone forecast. so remember, we're in the mid even low 50's that not too long ago. so now we will be gradually warming up starting tomorrow billing. so upper 50's of san francisco, low 60's beaches will be still in the mid to upper 50's. but then on the other side, san francisco, 61 degrees. 58 in burlingame for you. 62 degrees at the forecast high for you in san mateo, san carlos, a 65 and mountain view, as you make your way more south gets more warm. 66 along the sunnyvale, cupertino, santa clara, 68 san jose might see 70's tomorrow to the east bay also made 60's and tri valley looking at 63 to 66 degrees. more 60's on

from i-80 officers say they then attempted to pull the car over at pennsylvania avenue and followed the car on the trayvon court from there. officers say the teens jumped out of the cars. it was still moving. all 4 were taken into custody until the driver had a previous warrant for his arrest. in the east bay running and swimming specialty store is going to be closing for good after more than 40 years in oakland transports posting this on their website after 42 years are going to be shutting their doors in the coming months. the owners adding a message thanking the community for getting them through fires, earthquakes and the pandemic. caltrans is about to start a roadway. safety improvement project along highway one 20 near yosemite national park. officials say this comes after a significant rockslide closed a section of the roadway back in february. construction will begin tomorrow. and if you're planning on heading there for national park week and next saturday, you can expect a 10 to 15 minute delay in the area. the project is expected

to be wrapped up by this summer. 6 timber businesses are filing a 225 million dollar lawsuit against pg and e over damages caused by the 2021. dixie fire. they claim pg e and properly manage the forest and failed to comply with the state's public utilities act as well as not doing enough to prevent the second largest fire in the state's history and their businesses have endured financial hardship. earlier this year, the utility company agreed to pay a 45 million dollars settlement for its role in igniting the fire. with warmer and drier weather on the way. federal officials are warning there could be an earlier and more intense wildfire season this year. the last 3 months flames have impacted more than 2500 square miles of land across the country. and that's more than half of last year's total. federal officials are now ramping up training programs and of created 44 complex incident management teams to combat the most troubling situations. they're

outcome. >> and that was news nation's kellie meyer reporting from washington tonight. well, happening tomorrow, the man arrested after being accused of hiding a camera in a san jose starbucks going to court. he had that in a bathroom. police say 35 year-old louis juarez junior planted the camera. the location off of west taylor street and coleman avenue officials say an employee at the starbucks and noticed the hidden camera in january 31st. under restroom sink and then called 9-1-1 to report. by then there was a video of 91 people on camera, including children as young as 4 years old. we will bring you an update on what happens in court tomorrow kron 4. convicted killer scott peterson back in redwood city court on tuesday. this is the first of 3 hearings in an effort to get his conviction overturned. peterson was convicted in 2004 of the murder of his wife, laci and their unborn child. peterson has maintained his innocence. he's serving life in prison

earlier this year. the los angeles innocence project which takes on cases it believes led to wrongful convictions, took on peterson's case lawyers there asking a judge to approve new dna testing and evidence be reexamined. in oakland. fire crews working to put out a garage fire they say started from a lithium battery combustion earlier today. they say this play started on the corner of east 21st 19021th avenues around one in the afternoon. firefighters say the heavy fire started in the garage of a 2 story building but contained just before it grew. no injuries were reported. some interesting new time-lapse video of snow falling on big hill in eldorado county. according to the national weather service, 7 inches of snow recorded in the region. the video shows the thick clouds moving in and then the snow building on the ground. now to our 4 zone forecast taking a live look

outside at a financial district tonight. looks like some clouds hanging around here this evening. gayle ong. but look, hey, gayle. >> hello, yes, the sierra got some snow over the weekend and we got some rain. i do have some rain totals to show you from the last 48 hours and as per usual, the santa cruz mountains to get a bulk of that rain over 2 inches of rain over at ben lowman everywhere picked up decent rain, a beneficial rain. we're talking close to half an inch in oakland san jose. and then more than half an inch in places like half moon bay and san francisco and santa rosa. so much beneficial rain we got and now we can say bye-bye to the rain. as you can see, high pressure will be taking over. you can see it in our future. cast model will play this in motion for you. this is in about an hour. looks like we'll be clearing out overnight for most of us with the exception of the valleys. and then as take you through your morning drive, it's a 06:00am monday livermore. visibility may be even in san jose. but the afternoon we do

look cloudy, a mix of sun and clouds, but towards the evening, we start to clear out and then this is tuesday as well. so we have some nice sunshine on the way after a soggy start to the weekend started we had we had a solid band of rain starting late friday into saturday. so we will see some sunshine, lots of sunshine and warm and dry conditions. temperatures out the door right now. we are in the chilly side as the skies are are starting to clear out. so that means no cloud cover to keep us warm. so low 50's and san francisco, oakland mid 50's in san jose. everywhere else down to the low 50's as well. not too far from night lows. you could see 44 in santa rosa and napa and livermore. so the interior valleys, the inland areas, those are the typical places that get chilly at night. and the tomorrow's daytime highs will be gradually warming up. so we're in the mid 50's on a

saturday. even friday. it was it was pretty chilly for daytime highs. now we you'll notice a trend will be trending upwards now from likes upper 60's close to 70's in some places like san jose and antioch in santa rosa and napa and along the you'll notice san francisco and half moon bay will remain on the cooler side low 60's and the mid-fifties by the beaches. and then at mill valley looks like you will be in the low 60's as well. and to sum it all up for you, we will be clearing overnight. those showers will be ending tomorrow. look for partly cloudy skies with some mild temperatures. and then this week, lots of sunshine, 80's inland. and here is that 10 at 10 outlook, as you could see, the long range models. we don't see rain in this a cycle yet, but i am seeing rain and the long-term model maybe of the week of the 24th but will focus on the nice sunshine

dollars on projects meant to protect infrastructure from the effects of climate change. the goal is to target spots that are especially vulnerable to extreme weather. the money will be used to revamp dozens of roads, bridges, ports and other infrastructure across the country. and the funny about smarter better designs connie, our daily commutes. sometimes even our lives depend on making sure that infrastructure is strong. >> the funding for these projects comes from the infrastructure law passed in 2021, the grants are going to 80 different projects. across the united states. happening tomorrow. caltrans goes in part of the 101 to complete the next steps in the construction of the world's largest wildlife crossing and a gore hills on the southbound lanes are going to be closed from midnight to 5 in the morning. the southern california bridge is designed to create a corridor between 2 sections of the santa monica mountains providing safe travel for wildlife, including the endangered mountain lion.
