of a house fire on treasure island. and tonight, a dramatic rescue story. good evening. thank you for joining us tonight. i'm rob nesbitt. last night we brought you the story about a fire on treasure island. today i spoke with a resident there who save someone from the flames. this is video of the fire at a home on treasure island around 7.40, last night, according to the san francisco fire department, the homeless supposed to be vacant, but they did find evidence of squatting and hoarding andreas lives across the street and rushed to the scene when he saw the black smoke coming from windows and doors. the certified lifeguard walked up to the home and found a man passed out in the entryway with the help of other by standards. race was able to get the man to safety before the flames worsened. and he later regained consciousness. i was just like. happy i was

person was ejected from the car. they died at the scene. all lanes are now reopen. this is video from the citizen app. san francisco police say they have arrested a man for a deadly shooting that happened in the middle of the day in the mission, 30 year-old alexander martinez of richmond was located in richmond and detained just before 10, 30 last night. sfpd says he pulled the trigger around one 30 yesterday afternoon near the intersection of mission and 20th citizen app. video of the scene shows a heavy police presence earlier in the day despite life saving efforts by police and paramedics, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. the california highway patrol is actively searching for 2 boys and endangered missing person advisory for daniel wu. and david wu is issued in los angeles and santa clara counties. they were last seen at one 30 on saturday. daniel wu is 9 years old. he's 67 pounds and 4 feet, 11 inches.

moon bay. so we are warming up in some places. but as santa rosa is going to cool down and you'll be waking up to the upper 30's. but there's no frost advisory issued at this time still breezy. so that's what's keeping has a little cool along the coast here. looking ahead, though. so you can notice sunday in the 60's and we're going to warming up 10 degrees warmer starting monday. and then 7 day forecast, you'll see 80's inland. back to you. >> all right, thank you. the bay area got to shake up just before lunch today. a 3.4 earthquake shook the city of berkeley and much of the bay area just after 11 this morning, the epicenter was near claremont canyon. the united states geological survey said the quake ran 5.8 miles deep. there have been no reports of any damage. there's been a lot of shifting in shaking around the world this week. earlier i spoke to doctor bob degroot from the united states geological survey to see what he makes of all the recent quakes. taiwan experience its biggest

earthquake in a quarter of a century last week. so berkeley, new jersey, taiwan, is this rare to have so many around the same time span globally. >> there are earthquakes going on all the time around the world. and it turns out that we've had events that have happened in very highly populated areas. 20 million people on the east coast in the northeast. millions of people in taiwan and of course, millions of people in the bay area. so these earthquakes tend to be noticed quite a bit. mean, one thing that happened on earlier this week or 2 earthquakes near chico. and it turns out that for those earthquakes and not for the one that occurred this morning, the shaler earthquake early warning system which we have in california, oregon, washington was was triggered. so, yes, even had events just this week in california where early warning was was used. so my last question for you, kind of what advice do you have for our viewers talking about all these different places that have experienced earthquakes. what should people do to make sure they're fully prepared?

yes, there %here are 3 things. i think that people should really doing. number one, horst know what to do. if you feel shaking or if you get an alert on your phone. and if you don't have quick early warning on your phone, find out more about that at shake alert, dot org. so number one know what to do if you feel shaking are getting alert, drop cover and hold on. number 2, there are lots of tools that the united states geological survey offers so usgs dot gov. you'll find all kinds of resources that you can you can use and learn more about earthquakes, part of knowing about what to do having some control over what happens is knowing about how earthquakes work. and number 3 get involved. if you feel an earthquake reported, tell us what happened. allows us to to learn more about that earthquake and to to improve things to improve infrastructure, everything. be involved, know what to do. and

free dozens of hostages being held by hamas. the demonstrators are also demanding early elections. the next general elections are not scheduled until october of 2026. this as tomorrow marks 6 months since hamas stage a surprise attack on israel. hamas took about 250 people hostage and 133 of them are still being held captive. prime minister benjamin netanyahu has vowed to destroy hamas and bring all of the hostages home. this also comes after the israeli military has officially closed their investigation into the deaths of 7 world central kitchen workers last week, the israeli military says it dismissed 2 officers and reprimanded 3 others for their roles in the deadly strikes and says the country will work to increase the flow of aid into gaza. however, skepticism remains as un officials continue to call for an independent investigation into the israeli military.

facing trespassing charges while one was arrested on a charge of obstruction. 4 zone forecast kron four's gayle ong joins us with look at what's to expect. gayle, a very clear night outside. >> yes, a clear night, but chilly night. so sunday is going to be one of the last chilly nights and days. we will have. so just i just say tuned because we'll be warming up. you can even see this view here from the east bay hills. you can see the blue skies it will start to clear overnight. and with that, the temperatures will be dropping, but we will be warming up to mild temperatures during the day time highs. we do have that cold air coming from the pacific northwest and that will be ushering in some chilly temperatures and some light rain around the morning. maybe coast of drizzle and then the afternoon as well should get a pop of some light rain. so this is 09:00am notice. the coast may see a few raindrops and then by lunchtime, you can see the sierra and that pink over should get some snow. but then
