looking at conditions out there that are going to be beautiful, clear all day long. this is a view from sutro tower looking down at the richmond district right now looking nice and fog free to kick off this monday. radar showing you those clear skies that we're seeing all across the bay and up into the sierra down into southern california. chance of thunderstorms that way. but for the bay, we are set to remain dry today. little bit breezy in a few spots. watch for a breezy conditions on your bridges as well as out into the delta. aside from that, the winds will calm down later on today. this is going to set us up for beautiful, clear and calm conditions into the afternoon. temperatures right now are in the 40's to 50's sf sitting right at 50 degrees. concord, you're at 46 right now. dublin, a cool. 44, absolutely. don't forget the jackets this morning. but when that sun comes up later today will be landing in the low 70's for a whole lot of the bay area already got a little sneak peek of the traffic. michael thomas standing here with us. what's the latest out there, michael? hey, good morning, everyone. happy monday. that's right. that

sneak peek. you saw,the live look of the bay bridge right now. still only an 8 minute commute. if you're heading in from the maze over to the city which looks good, those metering lights not on quite yet. >> san mateo bridge, you see it's just around 13 minute commute. everything seems to be flowing. they're taking a look a little bit up north at the richmond, sandra fell bridge. you see 8 minute commute. everything is flowing there as well. last look at that golden gate bridge. a 19 minute commute. no major delays there. looking overall at traffic tracker 40, see lots of green. but as the morning progresses, we may see some of that orange and red. so coming in the next 15 minutes, i will show you some drive times for those of you heading in from the east bay to the city rain. i'll send it to you. all right, michael, thank you for that. okay. so let's head to the east bay because if the post covid business climate isn't hard enough. >> imagine being burglarized the and burglarize on easter sunday. nonetheless, that's what happened to a small business in oakland powers. dan kerman has her story. >> that's the city that to take action and to prevent this from happening to us. this is not fair. this easter sunday. this is the sunday

use our suitcases, impact our inventory and suitcases. in addition take removing items, it's a tough pill to swallow taylor. jay has been in business for 10 years and takes pride in the fact her garments are not only designed in oakland but made in the city as well. and while this incident has are rethinking store's security, she says she has no plans to leave. in fact, she hopes the incident will serve to rally the community. i think this is all of our businesses that year businesses might is. my business is yours and we should be in and the right way. and we have to support one another to be here and we have to speak about it vocally. dan kerman kron, 4 news. well, a person was shot and wounded friday night in east oakland. officers were alerted to gunshots. >> from that shot spotter system of 40th avenue, right near melrose around 09:00pm. police arrive on a victim with at least one gunshot wound. officers gave a 2 paramedics could arrive in take that person to a hospital. so as of sunday, that person was stable. the investigation is currently ongoing. ok? so

there are multiple sideshows this weekend in the bay area tracking dozens of people. >> this one happened around 12 12, 40 early sunday morning. lionel franklin canyon road and john muir partly hercules. this is right near the franklin canyon golf course. shows people lying fireworks during the sideshow activity. there are at around one 30 in antioch. more people were seen blocking the intersection of lone tree way golf course will for another sideshow. spectators blown off another round of fireworks. and police responded to the scene trying break up the crowds. and in oakland, another sideshow broke out. so this happened around 2.45. the street and telegraph avenue in the temescal neighborhood when police arrived to the scene, they say cars began to disperse. even see some people

hanging off of cars. time oakland police are investigating one side. chill the end it with a hit and run crash. according to police, the driver got into another car and drove away before police arrived that around 8.30, saturday night on burma, road, no injuries were reported in that investigation is ongoing. happening tomorrow, santa clara county nurses are planning a three-day strike. the nurses say the county failed to bargain in good faith over working conditions. safety issues concerning staff ratios. well, back in february, 97% of registered nurses voted to support an unfair practice right as more than 3,000 nurses planning on walking off the job tomorrow. so certain services might be unavailable for these 3 days. happening today, rideshare drivers are holding a rally for better working conditions. they're going to stage a series of events from a caravan to rally to address critical issues they say are impacting their work. those issues include low pay on ferre de activations high

company, fi safety risk and more. they're going to news conference today. one for over head quarters as there was his skull and the other at the live headquarters. also in the city. fire breaks out to believe the san francisco's mission district. investigators say arson might be involved. most recent fire broke out early saturday morning on why street right between 15th and 16th street. firefighters say a car went up in flames. carlin spreading to nearby buildings where people were actually inside. >> the flames had spread of the back of the buildings. these are what we consider a ordinary construction or wood-frame buildings. these are older buildings. they catch on fire and spread very quickly. this rapidly expanded from a first alarm to 3rd alarm bringing over 100 census. the firefighters to the scene. >> crews were able to get several people out of the building to safety. 2 were treated for minor injuries. total. 10 people were forced out of their homes. this comes

about 24 hours after 5 games, stuart church just blocks away. so this is saint john, the evangelist, end, ben jealous episcopal church caught fire just before 3 friday morning. outside of that building was damaged. the insight miraculously was safe. nobody was hurt in the church is still able to move ahead. what their plan, easter event. so that would mean yesterday the member of the church staff says they don't think this fire was an accident. >> very, very clear that someone left the church on fire. this was not. accidental. church did not sistine massive structural didn't go up. it's there is exterior damage we will be needing to repair that we secure that. the interior was largely untouched. >> so supervisor hillary ronen who represents the mission district says both incidents are being investigated as potential arson that are being taken extremely seriously. that development news out of

san jose police are investigating the scene of a deadly crash. this is on saratoga avenue right near harker school campus on to 80. so sarah san jose police say that a man was hit and killed while walking the northbound lane of saratoga avenue was closed purcell hours while police investigated that crash. in the north bay, fire crews rescue 3 people after a car drove off the road run into a creek near napa. cal-fire ellen, you shared these pictures of that incident and at an early saturday morning right off the highway, 12 and the sonoma county border. according to firefighters, 3 passengers were taken to a hospital. their conditions are currently unknown. governor newsom is planning to install hundreds of cameras in the east bay all to combat crime and violence. says 480 high-tech surveillance cameras are going to install it. 209 will go to streets in the city of oakland, another right along freeways in the area. first cameras to hit the streets are expected to be online within the next 30 days. oakland city

councilmember dan kalb has been pushing for the cameras and the support of governor gavin newsom's plan. >> we have a serious crime problem not all neighborhoods, but many neighborhoods and it goes up and down. we need to do the best we can to investigate a are this. but the most serious crimes that happened in our city investigate crimes, you have to have evidence. you have to have lead to have to have information and a high-tech surveillance cameras can be one of the sources that get us information to help successfully investigate crimes and hold people accountable who perpetrate crimes. >> but not everybody supports the governor's plan. the anti police terror project says considering the city and state's large budget deficits. money is for the cameras could be better served, tackling homelessness, helping people get living wage jobs. so the governor's office says the cameras are entertain recordings. 28 days and the video will not be disclosed to 3rd parties be on state law enforcement. still ahead, the problem morning news officials

today. murphy police are looking for 2 people in connection to a shooting. one suspect shot someone new interrupted him during a burglary suspects and sped off in a dark colored car. fortunately, nobody was hurt.

caltrans now lowering speeds along 3 stretches of highway one in big sur speed limit was 55 miles per hour and is now being reduced to be between 40 to 50 miles per hour. caltrans says enforcement of the new limit will begin once all the signs are in place. city of open offer an extension for the a's. stay for yet another 5 years. espn says the city of oakland and the a's are going to be tomorrow. oakland mayor says she's committed to do everything in our power. keep the a's in oakland. the boys are out in full swing against the san antonio spurs. lawyers beat the spurs 117, one, 13. on the dallas mavericks tomorrow and the houston rockets sometime next week. another setback for storm batters section of highway one. but a landslide is closed. another portion of the historic roadway right between big sur and carmel by the sea. nearly one and a half mile portion of the southbound lane crumbled into the sea on saturday, just south of the rocky creek bridge. caltrans says daily condos and ali

lately and we're not completely done with it in this forecast. we'll focus on that break, though. looking outside from mount tam. we do have some clear skies overhead, a little bit of fog trying to form not being super successful in doing that. partly because we are very breezy across some of our bridges out into the delta this morning. definitely going to notice that as you make some of your bridge crossings, low pressure to the south of us is resulting in thunderstorm potential for southern california. neighbors, although here in the bay area just a little for 2 north to be seeing any of that, that's futurecast is displaying those nice clear skies that we're going to be seeing through the course of the day today as we move into tomorrow morning. do expect some coastal fog right along the coastline and pushing right into the bay for your tuesday. start tomorrow afternoon is going to be the warmest day of the forecast. before we start to cool things down into wednesday and then especially into thursday, the chance of showers returning towards the end of the week. as for today, temperatures nearing 70 degrees in mission in financial districts, solid

dublin over to fremont 14 minute commute over here in san leandro to milpitas a 20 minute commute and milpitas to sunnyvale will only a 6 minute commute. taking a live look right now at the san mateo bridge. everything seems to be flowing through only a 12 minute commute. so that's a good thing. hopefully it stays like that. but as we know as the morning progresses, things do start to build up. taking a look over in the east bay. right now, you can see everything seems to be flowing on westbound 80 crockett to the maze. only 16 minute commute. so not that. lastly, we'll take a live look at the bay bridge. so from the maze over into the city, an 8 minute commute and those metering lights are not on quite yet, but i'm sure they will be on by 6 o'clock rain. i'll send it back to you. all right, michael, thank you for that. well, a stabbing near a san francisco whole foods sends one man to the hospital. >> stabbing happened around 9 sunday morning right outside of the whole foods on ocean avenue in the city sunset district. so video from the citizens app showing police presence right outside the store when they arrived. police say a man was found

with stab wounds and was bleeding. he had to be taken to the hospital and is expected to survive police arrested a man they believe was connected to that attack. that investigation is ongoing. local health officials are warning residents about the dangers of measles say the number of cases continues to climb in the bay area in the world. measles was declared eliminated in the u.s. back in 2000. but now it's making a comeback. the cdc reporting 97 confirmed cases so far this year in 17 states including california. >> 90% of the cases that the cdc has identified nationally are are are coming in are imported from travelers from from other countries. but then because it is so easily transmitted, if there are people who are not vaccinated, kids or adults, that it can travel through a quite months. those people that have not yet been vaccinated. well, bay area, infectious disease

expert. so while some easel cases can be mall, you can also lead to hospitalization and death. measles symptoms include fever, cough, runny nose. pink guy. >> follow 2 to 4 days later by a rash. and the family of a man hit and killed by garbage truck in san jose last month. now suing the company that actually owns and manages that truck. crash happened at the intersection of elm street and mckendree street right near the san jose airport. police say a man was crossing the street when the truck might ring waste. recovery may determine him. police say the driver of that truck stayed at the scene. the lawsuit alleges that the truck not stop at the stop sign but instead rolled through it and hit that man from behind and ran over his body. san jose police are still investigating. in the east bay. police in open are investigating a fatal stabbing. this happened on friday. it happened right after 07:00am on 15th avenue near san antonio. part officers found a victim suffering from at least one

stab wound. paramedics tried to save them, but the victim died due to his injuries. the person's identity is still being withheld until notification of next of kin. well in the east bay, a traffic stop or arrest led to the discovery of more firearms and suspected fentanyl at a brentwood home. but one special task force searched a home on apple would comment. police say they found 4 firearms and what they believed to be fentanyl. 2 residents were detained but not arrested. the case is going to for it to the contra costa county da's office. a tip from a previous arrests, help them find the guns. coming up in morning news, a stolen truck let san leandro police on a chase. we hear from 2 men who saw it all unfold. and after the break, republicans. all right. so happy about march 31st. being transgender day of visibility will talk about that coming up.

be flowing and over. look at the golden gate bridge. you can see a 19 minute commute from 37 to one of the tolls. so not too bad and over, look at everything you can see lots of green. we do see some small little pockets of yellow. and coming up in the next 15 minutes, i'll give you some drive times for those of you in the east and south bay rain all send it back to you. all right, michael, thank you for that. so many fast-food workers in california are getting a raise starting today. >> minimum wage actually goes up to $20 an hour. but that also means a possible increase in food prices. numbers will trend is live in pleasant hill with details on that. so we'll be learning. >> so what's going to happen is effective immediately. a lot of fast-food workers in california. we're talking approximately 500,000 of them at places like mcdonald's. they go from and average about $16 an hour to $20 an hour. and this is a win for the workers because governor gavin newsom said, you know, that

the days of teenagers working at fast food restaurants, making pocket money and living at home without any problems. it's not really reality. the reality is a lot of these workers, they have families that they have to support, which is why he signed this into law last fall and it takes effect immediately today. so here's what's going to happen. they will get an instant pay raise. here's the qualification. you have to have a restaurant more than 60 of them across the country. so if you're a mom and pop places, sandwich shop, this does not affect you. if you are just the only of its kind if your mcdonald's taco bell starbucks, for example, this will hit you in the wallet. as far as the employers as much as 225,000 to $500,000, every year for them as they claim. so the good news is the employees get more money. the bad news, according to employers, they have to pay

more money. so what's going to happen is many of them will either do a hiring freeze or they will start laying off their staff and they also plan to increase the cost of a lot of the menu prices. like, for example, if you go and get your sandwiches, your favorite sandwich or your favorite coffee drink, there's some more a high chance that you will see a price increase. they've been doing this over the past decade anyways, reyna when it went up to $16. now they plan to do it again. now that it's $20 an hour. we are here, of course, and we will get reaction from customers as soon as they pull in. we've done this story before. some people support it. some do not support the pay increase back to all right. well, thank you for that breakdown. there. >> so a man is dead after being ejected from a car in san francisco's valley neighborhood. crash happened saturday morning right in the area dine-in clippers street. this is video from the citizens at so when the car flipped over on its roof, was

a fire. crews say the driver was ejected after hitting 3 parked cars to be taken to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries. out in the east shelter-in-place was led police on chase. we spoke with 2 men who saw it all happen. >> red truck that crashed into the tree right there. knocked over the street sign. the tow truck came and took that away. the guys down. they said it was a stolen car. >> well, after that, the man police say was also karen, at least one night locked himself inside of a different car. an officer at the scene told us the man appeared to be having some kind of mental episode, though she 8 ers eventually were able to talk him out and he was taken to the hospital. and the east bay and oakland man has been sentenced for trying to traffic arms out of the port of oakland. fares on

dole on e well convicted of conspiring and attempting to export defense articles to the middle east. so back in 2019 out, leon e acquired multiple guns goggles with night vision drive to send arms and shipping containers from the port of oakland. law enforcement intervene and sees the containers and the firearms. in the south bay, a hazmat team and bomb squad investigated. got older after 3 people were taken to the hospital. crews responded to an apartment building in san jose vonleh avenue right near 2.80, saturday night. the hazmat investigation forced all residents evacuate the building. that's gators say they did not find anything suspicious. but 3 people were taken to the hospital because they experienced issues with breathing. still not sure what caused the complications, but the all clear was given and residents were allowed to return to the building around one sunday morning. and las vegas. the tropicana hotel will only be open for couple

more days before it closes for good location of the famous hotel will be used for a major league baseball stadium. the closure is 2 days before its 67th anniversary on the las vegas strip. here's the latest additions. what the state and could potentially look like coli. just want to move to las vegas. but according to espn, city of oakland offered an extension to the team. not would be for 5 more years in the east bay. espn says the city and the a's are going to be tomorrow, too. talk about the matter. according to espn, oakland mayor sheng thao said she is committed, do everything in our power to keep the a's in oakland. she said having major league baseball in oakland is what best for the le players. and most importantly, the fans. sports lounge in oakland is now permanently close. so sunday was motions. sports loud last day of business bar serve drinks and they posted on instagram saying they close

investigator arrived just before noon time and now their investigation is underway. >> just on the other side of these train tracks along glen shy or drive an olympic boulevard. is the area where the national transportation safety board is investigating the crash of a company dire tbm, 700 airplanes which went down around 6.30 last night. the truckee tahoe airports, facebook page shows this plane as being very similar to the tbm aircraft. richard manso, who lives about a block away, heard the plane just before it crashed into an air show and you hear them revved their engines down. you're like a big. >> i like it was basically like that. and then i just heard like a. >> he says the sounds were muffled by the snow coming down at the time. there was weather last we had a little bit of snow going that visibility was bad. and when
