evening and thank you for joining us for kron. 4 news at 11. i'm dan thorn all of the post-covid business climate isn't tough enough. imagine being burglarized on easter sunday. and that's what happened to a small business in oakland this morning. kron four's dan kerman reports. >> we need that's the city that to take action and to prevent this from happening to this is not fair. this easter sunday. this is the sunday that we should all be spending time with our loved ones and enjoying this day, not having too, you know, cleanup last. look at this. that's exactly what oakland clothing designer taylor jay had to do easter morning. >> after being notified her flagship store on broadway had been burglarized. it happened about 05:30am, in the morning after breaking the glass in the front door. security video shows a man coming inside the store and helping himself to a wide array of goods being a small business in oakland and how tough things have already been for us. >> you know, small businesses

general. it doesn't feel good. it doesn't feel good at all. it's really devastating is really heartbreaking in it. it's very discouraging. >> jay says the burglar was in the store for 15 minutes and made off with ipad cell phones and thousands of dollars of clothing, bags and accessories. he even took our own our suitcases impact our inventory in the suit cases. in addition take removing items, it's a tough pill to swallow taylor. jay has been in business for 10 years and takes pride in the fact her garments are not only designed in oakland but made in the city as well. and while this incident has are rethinking store security, she says she has no plans to leave. in fact, she hopes the incident will serve to rally the community. i think this is all of our businesses that year businesses might is. my business is yours and we should be in and the right way. and we have to support one another to be here and we have to speak about it vocally. dan kerman kron, 4 news.

>> bunch of people that look like they need to get some better hobbies. overnight sideshows all across the east bay attracting tons of people. one car was actually seen slamming into another one, causing it to overturn extremely unsafe. don't do these things. there were multiple sideshows that happened the bay area this weekend and one case in oakland, the police there telling us that it ended with a hit and run crash according to police, the driver got into another car and then drove away before the police got there. this happened around 8.30, last night on burma, road. thankfully, no injuries were reported. but the investigation is ongoing. that was the first of many that that ramped up in the east bay just a few hours later, dozens of more spectators gathering for a side show off franklin canyon road in john, your parkway in this is to the franklin canyon golf course. the video here showing.

>> seen we've seen play out several times here. people lighting off fireworks and spin around carson just being unsafe and unruly and an antioch around one 30 in the morning. more people were seen at this huge sideshow. a laser light show as well. this is that the intersection of lone tree way and golf course road spectators blown off. another round of fireworks may be blowing off a little steam here and illegal antioch police there pulled up to the scene to break up the crowds. unclear if there are any citations or if there was any sort arrests made. and oakland around to 45 last night, this sideshow broke out 51st street telegraphed. >> people climbing up traffic lights there, shooting roman candles often in the sky. people shooting this other cell phones. you remember this is a crime shouldn't be doing this. don't do it. police showed up and said that the cars eventually bn to first. now to some developing news out of san jose where police are on the scene of a deadly

crash on saratoga avenue near the harker school campus and to a t the san jose police department says the man was struck and killed while walking. >> the northbound lane of saratoga avenue is going to be closed for several hours while police are looking into this crash. the southbound lane, though, is back open tonight. another setback for a storm battered section of highway one. a new landslide has closed another portion of this historic road between big sur and carmel by the scene and nearly one and a half mile portion of the southbound lane as actually crumbled into the sea. this happened yesterday. this is just south of the rocky creek bridge. caltrans says the daily convoys are going to be leading a central travelers through that closed area from 8 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon. this is that same area as we know that's been struggling to recover for multiple landslides that triggered by the past winter storms. all right. let's take a live look outside right now at the golden gate bridge. looks like

it's nice and dry out. there was a beautiful one all across the bay area today. gayle ong joining us with a look at the weather to >> very pleasant weather just in time for the easter holidays. i hope everyone had a great weekend. it was a wild weather over the weekend since friday. we saw thunderstorms, hail and big sur was an area of concern from this the storm. so here is that richmond center fell bridge, also dry conditions out there. just looking ahead, we have warmer conditions coming up tomorrow and tuesday and into wednesday with the 70's a little bit breezy as this cold front moves out and then later on in the week will be cooling down and another chance of rain. back in the forecast. we did see some cells move to eastern santa clara county coming from the central valley. so central valley and thus in southern california is now seeing that unsettled weather that brought us that wild weather. and you can see the big picture here at development over in the gulf of alaska. but let's start off with the work week. 70's and 76 degrees. the forecast high

for tuesday inland and then wednesday that will be setting up the stage with partly cloudy skies and a change once again. back to you. >> thanks a lot. we've got some new information tonight out of truckee. the ntsb on scene a day after a plane went down, killing 2 people near the airport. we're going to shot tax reports. >> we're just behind me and down a ways is the side of this fatal plane crash. an ntsb investigator arrived just before noon time and now their investigation is underway. >> just on the other side of these train tracks along glen shy or drive an olympic boulevard. is the area where the national transportation safety board is investigating the crash of a company dire tbm 700 airplane that went down around 6.30 last night. the truckee tahoe airports, facebook page shows this plane as being very similar to the

tbm aircraft. richard manso, who lives about a block away, heard the plane just before it crashed into an air show. and you hear them their engines down here like a big. >> i like it was basically like that. and then i just heard like a. >> he says the sounds were muffled by the snow coming down at the time. there was weather last we had a little bit of snow going that visibility was bad. and when there's snow clouds, you don't really hear things. >> you know, as soon as if everything is nice and clear, kind of surreal it in a sense why why planes going over my house like that at that time of night. a spokesman for the ntsb says their investigator will begin documentation of the wreckage and crash site. >> we saw workers in orange, vast looking in and around the site. the coroner says the bodies were still inside. couldn't move them until after the ntsb arrived on scene.

they say their investigation involves 3 primary areas. the pilot, the aircraft and the operating environment. >> the investigator says she hopes she will soon have more information to share. the cause of the crash is being determined, but the plane went down as the pilot attempted to land at the truckee tahoe airport. neighbors say back in 1992, there was another fatal crash in that general area after plane had taken off from the airport. richard says this accident is especially tragic being that today is easter sunday. when many families are together. that's really sad that i mean, everything like that is really sad for sure. >> rowena shaddox. >> 7 near san francisco. whole foods sends one man to the hospital. the stabbing happened around 9 o'clock this morning outside of the whole foods on ocean avenue in the city sunset district video here from the citizen app showing the police responding

outside of store today when they arrived. police say they found a man with stab wounds. he was bleeding. he was later taken to hospital. he is expected to be okay. officers arrested a man they believe was connected to the attack. the investigation is ongoing. also in san francisco, protesters lay down a massive sine against us aid israel and the bernal heights neighborhood. this happened earlier today. the site has since been taken down. this comes as an israeli airstrike in a tent camp killed 2 palestinians in central gaza today and what's believed to be a targeted attack. the strike hit a tent outside the hospital where thousands of displaced people have been sheltering. as you can see here, people were scrambling as the explosion hit the ground. there's no comment so far from so far from the israeli military. tens of thousands of displaced people have taken shelter in gaza. hospitals. however, israel has rated the number of them accusing hamas and other militants operating inside the medical facilities. republicans slamming president

joe biden for proclaiming today. transgender day of visibility former president donald trump calling the move a pollen and insulting since today is easter. however, the proclamation has been observed annually on march 31st since 2009. the date of easter. on the other hand changes from year to year. san francisco celebrated transgender day of visibility and style asia sf held celebrations. there. location in the soma neighborhood. the business is a restaurant and nightclub that hosts transgender cabaret performances. and today was supposed to be their last day, but they posted on their website that they've got a lot of support and they haven't april encore. we actually got a chance to talk with one of the co-founders and what this support means to them. >> because of the love and support from the bay area. we just had overwhelming number of reservations. we have hundreds of people on our waitlist who can't get in. so we made a decision to extend

saw the hail out of thunderstorms and some downpours at times that has now come down. although we did see >> thunderstorms passed through eastern santa clara county. >> and that was that earlier in the evening. but we're pretty quiet here now to the sierra. also quiet. you don't see the snow anymore. there is a winter storm warning that came out of it this morning. so here's snow totals at our ski resorts over the last 24 hours, 4 to 14 inches. they picked up. you can see some snow left over here at incline village in the north part of town, lake tahoe. so no watches or warnings out there. great time to head out there. just be careful. maybe a little slick and some parts of those snow storms brought our snowpack rates keeping our snowpack well above the average, this is going to help with the long term water supply back here in the bay area. we're starting to see some clearing and nice night out here and barking their oath francisco. so here's the future cast model. you can notice clear skies tonight and
