>> news station, this news 11. >> now at 11 terrifying moments for a nurse in the east bay when she witnesses, a thief drive away in her car. the robbery taking place inside a hospital parking lot. we're hearing from the victim tonight. good evening and thank you for joining us for kron. 4 news at 11, dan thorn, a kaiser oakland nurse says that her car was stolen right in front of her and she was leaving work on friday. proffers man, harry talk with that woman and she joins us and studio now with more. amanda.

>> woman is grateful she's okay but disappointed about what happened. she says it took oakland police about 3 hours to get to the parking lot. and by then she ready once the police department to file a report. >> the city of oakland county like literally there was nothing to protect me or my car. that mullet. a scary moment for taylor bagby. is she left work friday night. bagby is a nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit at kaiser oakland. she parts of the garage near broadway and macarthur freeway. >> because of safety issues in the area, she usually starts for 2021. chevrolet camaro from afar so she can quickly get in and leave, but it wouldn't start when she could finally see your car. she was shocked or there's a security guard behind my car. and there's a guy in my car and there's glass all on the ground. >> and so i realize that he was still in my car guy inside the car. he's like this little laptop and he starts it. and i kind of like step in front of the car. but it starts or evidence or move out the way

he just drives off through the gate. she says the security guard called for backup, but it took them too long to get there. >> when they called police, they told them to expect a long wait to like we've got 187 calls. it's a friday in oakland like that. that would be the last thing we come and check up why she found out from the guard that someone broke window hours before coming back to steal the car. but she wasn't notified. this just seems to be a reoccurring move because the guys that it was a 6 car that they've taken since he's worked there at the parking garage. and you have been there for that law bagby says she used to go down to her car. her lunch break, but a few months ago, kaiser center memo to their staff urging them not to leave during their shifts because of safety concerns. she says she hopes both the city and kaiser will do more to protect people who and utilize the hospital. at the end the day, we just want to feel safe lake being able to go to work into

>> the mayor has told kron 4 the recall campaign is being organized by her political opponents who ran against her in previous races. the recall group says they've collected more than 123,000 signatures. 73,500 in to be verified to hold and election. a fairfield school resource officer has been arrested after being accused of sending inappropriate text messages to 2 teenage girls. fairfield police say officer james lewis was working at rodriguez high school when he sent messages to 2 students, parents of those girls alerted the department about the messages. lewis was later booked into solano county jail. he's now facing a series of charges, including contacting a minor with intent to commit a crime and child possession. in response, the ongoing investigation, the department posted on social media. quote, we are simultaneously disappointed, infuriated and saddened by this information. acts like these violate that trust our holy inexcusable and

failed to exemplify what the fairfield police department stands for. in san francisco. a person is recovering tonight after being shot during a home invasion and the outer mission. happened around 4 o'clock friday morning at a home on alameda boulevard. police say the victim found with a gunshot wound. that person was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. no arrests have been made. anyone with any information is being asked to call san francisco police. police in antioch are asking for your help in finding this person right here. they say they were caught on camera stealing a car and then later dumping in near east 6th street. anyone with any information is being called the contact. antioch police. now some video tonight of the south bay were firefighters responded to a house fire near the westfield valley fair. this video here showing flames coming out of a storage unit. this was at a home on daniel way. officials say various propane tanks were involved pg

are going to have additional units looking for sideshow activity in reckless driving. police say they're going to be handing out citations arresting people and telling vehicles. this is video from oakland police of the cars that they have seized at previous sideshows. dashcam and bodycam video from the los angeles police department shows how to officers rescued 2 teenage victims from a burning car. but also that fire claimed the life of a 16 year-old girl police backed off in their pursuit of the car being driven by a 14 year-old girl on a rainy night on february. 20th after it didn't have its lights on the car later crashed into a light pole and caught on fire. officers broke the windows and tried to extinguish the flames, then pulled the 14 year-old and a 16 year-old out of the car. they had minor injuries, but a 16 year-old girl in the backseat got lodged under the driver's seat. and police say they just didn't know she was there. police say their investigation will be ongoing. hundreds of

neglected animals had to be rescued from a home in hollister. investigators say on thursday they saved more than a dozen dogs and 200 cats living without food or water and surrounded by feces. 2 people are now facing animal cruelty charges. the animals were taken to several rescue organizations throughout monterey and san bernardino counties. well, if you're looking to adopt up at the bay area, animal shelter, a bay area, animal shelter needs your help. san francisco, animal care and control is once again reporting at their shelter is at full capacity in a social media post are asking people to delays are entering their dog until monday. they say a lot of the dogs they already have our because of legal matters so they can have people adopt them. they say that out overcrowding is a big problem all over the country. not just something that's being experienced hand here in the bay area. so adopt don't shop. don't forget that. we're springing forward this weekend. so you're going to lose an hour of sleep tonight when the clocks jump forward. and now we're at 2 o'clock in the morning. for years. there
