one was hurt. 4 sarah stinson joins us live from the parking lot in sfo where that enormous tire ended up. sarah, this is just not. >> yeah, the tire came crashing down from that united airplane into this employee parking lot next to sfo. we're told these tires are massive about 5 feet tall. they way just about 300 pounds in crash down on 2 cars. thankfully no one inside them. >> united flight 35 departed sfo for osaka just before 11 thursday morning. immediately after takeoff, one of the plane's tires sell-off crashing down onto cars in an employee parking lot. you can see where this tire landed and the destruction it caused. take a look this car got completely defense almond and united employee went to check

week. >> we were starting to rain here in the bay and it was a beginning. what to snow, 10 feet or so. and in the high country, much different. and today was beautiful. and tomorrow figures to be. >> delightful as well. calm out there tonight, laura. yeah. how about put in a couple of days together. all of us, some sunshine coming our way again for tomorrow. but not going to last forever. got some more storm clouds on the horizon as we look toward the weekend. but now let's enjoy what we've got. we've got some clear skies out around the bay area looking good toward the golden gate bridge, dry out there as can be to around much of the state after still another stormy day in southern california actually has some flash flood watch is up early on this evening. but now even their start to clear out get a little more sunshine as we head in toward tomorrow. the bay area looking good as we're going to keep those skies nice and clear. but off the coastline, there is yet another storm system that is lurking out there giving the idea the winter is not done with this quite yet. we've got a chance. some more rain on the way. so let's enjoy that sunshine for tomorrow. looks

like it will be a nice day as we get the weekend them up. start to worry about that storm. mostly clear out there. right now temperatures are going to get a little chilly tonight. we're going to talk about overnight lows dipping down the 30's and low 40's around parts of the bay area. but tomorrow, high pressure going to just sneaking ahead of the storm system that's going make for a great day. enjoy while we have. we'll talk about the weekend forecast coming up a few minutes. sounds good. thanks. alerts. volunteers in oakland are getting their hands dirty to keep their city clean. >> these are members of the group known as the community ready core for the past 3 weeks. they've been on the streets of oakland conducting and illegal dumping cleanup blitz. it's part of the longtime grassroots groups. good neighbor program. in just 6 months, the group has collected more than 10 tons of trash. >> we have a full size garbage truck. and we feel that thing up 6 times that. and so we're are we are making somewhat of a but we know the problems begin.

>> they were real garbage shut. the group even stopped by stay. gold deli this weekend cleaned up the mounds of trash piled up in front of that business. the delhi has faced $10,000 in fines after refusing to pay the city's excess litter fee. people just dump outside of it. however, an update the city is set. the owner a letter did so today actually reducing those fines now to just under $600. >> the san jose sharks organization facing a lawsuit in connection to an alleged abuse of a minor by a former coach kevin whitmer was a coach for the junior sharks. youth hockey organization he was arrested in november, charged with 30 felony counts of abuse. and 25 counts of possession of child. >> absolutely tragic situation. you know, young boy being taken advantage of by coach. >> bacevich is an attorney representing the young alleged

victim and his family. bacevich says on multiple occasions, parents reached out to complain to the sharks organization about observing whitmer, demonstrating disturbing behavior with young players. bacevich says those complaints were ignored. >> so there were a lot of red flags, some of which were raised to the organizations. some of them were kind of in the open that you should expect that organization %ould have to tack to it if it were properly supervise and its coaches athletes. >> bacevich says the goal of the lawsuit is to make sure something like this does not happen again. we reached out to the sharks organization for comment, but we have not yet heard back. meantime, a petaluma man has been arrested after police say he followed a group of girls at the east washington place shopping center yesterday and tried to sexually harass them. the girls told police the man identified as 69 year-old john larson offered them marijuana and cocaine and followed them into another shop before

nearly getting into a fight with another shopper. police say they have arrested larson before under similar circumstances. >> kron is your election headquarters said these 3 folks are vying to try to replace mayor london breed. they want to be san francisco's next mayor and they are all speaking publicly about the mayor's state of the city address. a former san francisco mayor and supervisor mark farrell, a current city supervisor ahsha e and philanthropist daniel lurie say the mayor spent her time painting a pretty picture of the city today. but these changes are coming to little to late. so the glaring miss for me. >> was there wasn't a conversation about how we're going to make san francisco more livable and affordable for all san francisco families. it wasn't a conversation about working families. frontline workers and how they're struggling in. the mayor mentioned teachers, nurses, firefighters, but she

didn't say there's thousands of vacancies within those department. the electorate has changed. they want. leadership inside of city hall. they want someone to come in and turn our city back around. >> the final candidate, philanthropist daniel lurie, says he didn't hear any new ideas or approaches today from the mayor lori's. the only person running from outside what he calls a failed system. while the mayor may be tired of the negativity. lori said he's tired too. >> the mayors on the wire and the excuses and the finger pointing instead of accountable leadership and getting meaningful results. this is not a crisis of resources with a 14.6 billion dollar budget. this is a crisis of leadership. we all know this and and so i am incredibly optimistic. the best days of our city are ahead of us. but it's going to require leadership from outside of that building. the

>> i saw on the news earlier that 5.80, was shut down and i said, that's crazy. that's a major freeway shut down for hours. then i came home to see police tape around her neighborhood. yeah, a tragedy. 2 people are dead at 2 different crime scenes in the east bay. and investigators tell us tonight the cases are connected. >> the investigation shut down a stretch of 5.84, hours this afternoon following a police chase that big end with the death of a woman. the freeway since reopened. police say the suspect in the case shot and killed a woman at a home in pleasanton and that eventually shot himself along the side of the freeway near san leandro kron four's amanda hari reports.

>> everyone i spoke to says this neighborhood is extremely quiet and the experience almost no crime. they say the situation is very sad, but they're grateful the threat is over a little bit strange and shocking. that's how people who live in this neighborhood described what happened thursday. saginaw circle near santa rita road and west lost see boulevard covered crime scene tape amid a murder suicide investigation this morning at around 11 o'clock >> i some bangs, apparently there was a gunshot at that time. i didn't recognizing those attention. this woman who didn't want to appear on camera. >> says she was home in pleasanton. police responded and found the victim dead with multiple gunshot wounds. that and they came in. she says she's lived in this complex since 1997, but she has never seen a police presence like this one. the shooting was

then almost immediately followed by a police chase. there are requesting assistance of their officers were actively in pursuit of a known a murder suspect on 5.80. that pursuit ended in san leandro near the benedict drive exit. the driver died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. the suspect vehicle while in pursue. >> crash and at that point there was a high risk staff as well as the standoff for approximately 30 minutes. it was determined that the suspect had to come to his own injuries. i saw on the news earlier. >> that 5.80, was shut down. and i said, that's crazy. that's a major freeway shut down for hours. then i came home to see police tape around her neighborhood and found out that it was related. tim parks says he chose to live here in pleasanton because it's a safe community. he never expected anything like this. >> he says he's not sure who the suspect or the victim. it's i don't know who lived there.

>> maybe i saw them, but i don't know if if i know who it is or not, it just a disturbed guy. didn't know how to control his emotions. i guess it's only thing that goes through my mind. pleasanton police is handling the murder investigation. again, there is no threat to the public at this time. >> in pleasanton amanda hari kron. 4 news. >> the owner of a popular east bay bagel shop had her business targeted with anti-semitic graffiti. the words israel baby killer were found spray painted on the sidewalk outside of boychuk bagels in berkeley this week. kron four's dan thorn spoke with the shop's owner tonight. he joins us now live in the newsroom with more. dan? >> yeah, no. while the jewish owner of probably the most popular bagel shop in the bay area says this is the first time she and her staff of dealt with this kind of vandalism and she believes it might be connected to the company taking no stance over the israel-hamas war. the sidewalk usually filled with a

line of customers waiting for a popular boy. chick bagel. >> was vandalized this week with this graffiti boy, 6 owner emily winston says it's an attack against her jewish-owned business. it's pretty pretty upsetting. >> to get that is my first time getting such a thing winston says the graffiti popped up in 2 spots outside of her college avenue shop wednesday afternoon. >> she later, but paint remover to scrub it out. i'm i'm. >> you know, out here. building a great thing that people love and it's really easy for some of the coming off the sidelines and deface it doesn't take too much effort to throw down a little spray. paint takes a lot more effort to scrub it off. >> boychuk bagels is not the first jewish-owned bay area business to be targeted since the israel-hamas war began last october spent an ice cream in san francisco's mission district was forced to temporarily close in november. vandals smashed in the windows and spraypainted free

palestine. winston says she nor her business is openly taking a stance on the war in gaza. but they have received threats on social media. winston says she still views the bay area as a shining example of acceptance and just wants to focus on what she does best. there's a lot of jewish business owners who are finding themselves put into the cross when it is not. >> something that we're involved with. i'm 6,000 miles away, making >> i'm not running middle east politics. >> well, earlier this week, the boychuk bagels announced plans to expand into san francisco which has been met with fanfare. but winston says that she is no plans for any kind of closure because of this graffiti in the newsroom. dan thorn kron, 4 news. thank you, dan. new at 11 tonight. people living in east san jose will soon be able to take light rail. >> to the milpitas bart station, the vta board unanimously approved the extension project. construction could begin as soon as this summer.

>> let's get you a check of your 4 zone forecast. taking a live look at golden gate bridge tonight. it is going to be another sunny day tomorrow. yeah, beautiful tomorrow. but last we heard from lawrence, he's talking about rain this weekend. maybe what's the deal? yeah. a couple of storms headed our way. maybe another one the following week. but i think things really kind of looking up starting tomorrow. we've got a lot of sunshine coming our way. and it looks like a very comfortable day around much of the bay area. maybe some places getting closer to 70 degrees in the afternoon. tonight, little chilly out there. could be a little cold early on tomorrow morning, but then off and running with that sunshine. >> and that is going to warm us up in a hurry. we're going to need it to numbers already dropping off in the 40's around much of the bay area. now lower a forecast model yet tomorrow looks great. but you see what right off the coastline right there. that could likely bring some showers in the bay area. not a real big storm is going for another week on saturday. a little more substantial come sunday. then another one late on monday into tuesday of next week. so, these storms looking

very large. and then after that, all of a sudden you start to see a lot of clearing. and that's what looks impressive to me is we're going to see some nice spring-like weather coming our way. temperatures for tomorrow. how about 69 in san jose? 66 in napa and 66 also in the battle next couple days. nice day tomorrow. much cooler over the weekend with some scattered showers and then warming up toward the end of next week. >> sales for celebrated its 25th anniversary by breaking a guinness world record today. you're looking at 885 employees dressed up as einstein. they broke the record for the largest gathering of people dressed as the theoretical physicist sales force currently has a platform called einstein. it businesses with customer experience and collecting data. a lot of einstein's. we'll be right back after the br
