>> and now it's 6 o'clock. we are waiting for president biden's first address to a joint session of congress as we're taking a live look at the at the capitol building this speech falling. they keep saying 100 days, but no, this is his 99th day in office. and let's take a look at the white house as we give you a view here. very nice night in washington, the address will be held. >> at the capitol a few blocks away. it is expected to look different from recent presidential addresses inside the capitol. and that is due to the coronavirus pandemic and security concerns after the january insurrection. good evening. thanks for joining us for kron 4 news at 6. i'm ken wayne and i'm catherine heenan. the president going big tonight with a very aggressive expensive proposed agenda. he is unveiling his next 1.8 trillion dollar stimulus package. >> it is centered on families. it includes universal

preschool free community college for paid family leave. there will be childcare spending caps and a series of tax hikes to help pay for this program in his american families plan. the president will also roll out some legislation to try to reform unemployment insurance. >> and give the irs authority to regulate paid tax preparers any moment now. general william walker, the house sergeant at arms will announce to that speaker, the house, nancy pelosi that president biden is inside the chamber and we take a live look inside. we'll see more people coming into the chamber. the total number of attendees in the chamber right now is about 200 in past addresses as many as 1600 people. we're inside. but all that, of course, was pre covid. >> and no chaos. so for example, even the first lady. she will have but they will be a virtual cast, including a pandemic frontline diner ce. i

celebrate peace to announce new plans possibilities. i come to talk about crisis an opportunity. by rebuilding the nation revitalizing our democracy. and winning the future for america. i stand here tonight. one day shy. of the 100th day. my administration. since i took the oath of office and looked in my hand off our family bible. and we heard in the nation. we all didn't. it was in crisis. the worst pandemic in a century. the worst economic crisis since the great depression. the worst attack on our democracy since the civil war. after just 100 days. i can report to the nation. america is on the move again. and the possibility.

crisis. the opportunity. setbacks in the strand. we all know. life can knock us down. but in america we never, ever, ever stay down. americans always get out. today. that's what we're doing. america's rising to new. choosing hope over fear. truth over lies and light over darkness. after 100 days and rescue in reno. america is ready for takeoff. in my view. we're working to gain. dreamy again. discovered again. and leading the world again. we have shown each other and the world that there's no quit in america,

100 days ago. america's house was on fire. we had to act. thanks to extraordinary leadership of speaker pelosi men who are majority leader schumer. and the overwhelming support of the american people. democrats, independents and republicans. we did that. together. we passed the american rescue plan. one most consequential rescue packages in american history. we're already seeing the results. already seen the results. after i promise. we get 100 million covid-19 vaccine shots in the people's arms and a 100 days. we will have provided over 220 million covid shots in game. we're

marshaling. everyone so we're marshaling every federal resource. we've got vaccines nearly 40,000 pharmacies. over 700 community health centers. where the poorest of the poor. can be reached. we're setting up community vaccination sites. developing mobile units to get to hard to reach communities. today. 90% of americans now 5 miles of a vaccination site. everyone. over the age of 16, everyone. >> is now eligible to get vaccinated right now right away. >> go get vaccinated in america. and get the vaccination. available. eligible now.

>> why was sworn in january 20th less than one percent of the seniors in america are fully vaccinated against covid-19. 100 days later, 70%. of seniors in america over 65 are protected fully protected. senior deaths from covid-19 or down 80% since january. down 80% because of all of you. and more than half of all the adults in america. i've got least one shot. a mass vaccination center glendale, arizona. i asked the nurse. i said what's it like? she looked at me and she said. every shot. he's given a dose of hope. the phrase, a dose of hope. a dose of hope for educator in florida as a child suffering from autoimmune disease wrote to me says she's worried she was worried about bringing the virus home. she

our progress these past 100 days against one of the worst pandemics in history. has been one of the greatest logistical achievements. just to go and she admits his country's ever seen. what else. have we done most first 100 days. we kept our commitment. democrats and republicans. sending $1400 rescue checks to 85% of american households. we're already sent more than what's 160 million checks out the door. it's making a difference. you don't own your home. for many people to thank you all the difference in the world. the single mom in texas who wrote me. she said. she couldn't work. he said the relief check. put food on the table and saved her and her son from eviction from her apartment. the grandmother virgin utah only hsu

rental assistance. you'll notice that the american people want to make sure they understand. keeping people from being evicted from their homes. providing loans to small businesses to reopen. keep your employees on the job. during these 100 days, an additional 800,000 americans enrolled in the affordable care act. when i established a special sign-up that 800,000 that period. making one of the largest one time ever investment ever. improving health care for veterans. critical investments to address the opioid crisis. maybe most importantly. thanks to american rescue plan run track. child poverty in america in half.

inflection point history. we have to do more than just build back better. the bill back up to build back better. we have to compete. we're strenuously that we have. throughout our history. think about it. public investment in infrastructure. has literally transform america. our attitudes as well as opportunities. the transcontinental railroad. interstate highways united 2 oceans and brought a totally new age of progress. united states of america. universal public schools and open wide. the doors of opportunity scientific breakthroughs took us to the moon now around mars discovery vaccines gave us the internet and so much more. these are investments we made together as one country. investments that only the governor was in a position to make. time and again. propel

us into the future. that's why i proposed the american jobs plan. once in a generation investment in america itself. this is the largest jobs plan since war 2. creates jobs to upgrade our transportation infrastructure. jobs, modernizing our roads, bridges highways. jobs, building ports and airports. real carter's transit lines. it's clean water. and today up to 10 million homes in america and more than 400,000 schools and child care centers. lead them, including drinking water. a clear and present danger to our children's health. american jobs plan, creates jobs, replacing 100%

not important, check out your own district. democrat or republican. democrat to republican voters. they're great concern almost as much as the chairman is taking care. i really loved one who can't be left alone. medicaid contemplated with this plan is going to help those families. and create jobs for caregivers with better wages and better benefits. continue the cycle growth. for too long. we fail to use the most important word. when it comes to meeting the climate crisis. jobs. i think climate change. i think.
