>>and thank you for joining us on the kron 4 morning news, i'm robin winston we have a lot to talk about of course you want to check in on the forecast. i have a couple of the traffic issues that need to tell you about we'll get to that in just a bit but meteorologist on tribal standing by with your tuesday forecast looking good out there again for 2 in a days, scott street. yeah, good streak going. do it let's do it we do have some more good weather ahead of us too so why not we do have a warm weekend behind us cooler temperatures ahead of us and if you need to get outside enjoy some weather.

>>to this afternoon, a good day to do so but don't rush you've got a couple more good days ahead of you too you look outside at the golden gate bridge is showing you some foggy conditions to kick off this tuesday morning fog basically just as president as it was yesterday at this time still looking at visibility falling below a mile in san francisco, happen bait oakland, pretty similar as i mentioned to where we were at yesterday as far as the set up goes and it's going to stay with us for a minute today before does eventually decide to clear out into the afternoon. we have some sunshine to expect you're gonna have more sunshine today than we did for yesterday well yesterday already did see some pretty nice inviting looking skies so from a good day to another good day temperatures today will be even more comfortable for inland areas seeing some areas such as the antioch a further inland, schooling down as far as temperatures go for another day in a row. we've got even cooler weather for inland spots just around the corner too 50's and 60's is where we're sitting as far as temperatures go at this very

moment, stepping so it just a light jacket ready to go and you'll be fine compared to yesterday, not a big difference here, san francisco, nevada seeing some of our biggest of differences, most areas are with striking distance of exactly where we started our morning yesterday from the 50's and 60's to daytime highs today still in the 80's inland but not quite as warm in the 80's at max peaking in the mid 80's for most areas, 60's and 70's alongside the ocean and at the base so another nice one another seasonable on and i've got even cooler temperatures ahead and the rest of your forecast robin thank you john want to check in on traffic now. >>we have a couple of hot spots to talk about we will start off on the peninsula of major acts did this is pretty fresh and san bruno this is not too far from sfo, northbound one o one right at the 3.80 split. we have emergency crews on scene working with a multi-car crash. there's also a big rig involved here and one of the vehicles has flipped over so they are on scene with no estimated time of clearing.

they are forcing traffic over to westbound 3.80 that is as far as you can go. you will not be able to continue north on one o one beyond the 3.80 split. this is something to keep in mind for those of you heading out to and from the airport this morning or at least northbound because it is gian from s f o you can take el camino reality can also take to 80 as an alternate once again major problem major accident overturned several vehicles and a big rig blocking all lanes of traffic so avoid it if you can excuse me and then over to the east bay in san leandro we have crews dealing with a fatal accident from a early this morning will happen at around 1222. this is where a driver ran off the road into a tree, this is a fatal accident. they have the does an off ramp from east 5.80 shut down. the coroner has a responding to the scene have tow trucks there as well you will see that right lane close leading up to the off-ramp but it's so early that it's not causing a major delay westbound traffic

getting through just fine. we're checking in on the bridges all is well they are quiet and trouble free the drive into san francisco looking good at 8 minutes to fremont street 92 trouble free a great trip from hayward to the peninsula just remember north one oh one at 3.80 we have all lanes blocking you make it to san bruno and then west 5 80 to the richmond sandra fell hot spot free here with a great trip of 8 minutes that's to make your way from the toll plaza out to one oh one in sandra fell we'll check some more freeways drive times coming up. our top story that we're following for you this morning, investigators in texas and ohio. they're still trying to piece together the events that led to 2 mass shootings that killed more than 30 people camila bernal she's in el paso this morning with the latest on both of these shootings. >>hours mean seen hundreds of people coming to this makeshift memorial just steps away from the entrance to the walmart this has become sort of a therapy session for a lot of people we seen a leaders and members of this community coming together to pray. we're

el paso texas. >>well back here the bay area remote the causes of deaths of the victim in the gilroy garlic festival shooting. the santa clara county coroner's office says that 25 year-old trevor irby and 13 year-old keyla salazar they were shot in the chest. a 6 year-old stephen romero, he was shot in the back last week the coroner's office said that the shooting suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. the shooting last a last sunday injured 13 people. back to school parents are now asking our children safe and how do we protect them. kron four's michelle kingston takes a look at what santa clara county schools are doing as the school year begins. >>the innocent lives. so needlessly. and is a difficult conversation to have. >>deadly shootings in gilroy in texas and in ohio causing many families to fear the first day of school which

definitely noticed a higher level of anxiety and worry santa clara county superintendent of schools doctor marianne dhawan is working hard to make sure students feel safe one we know that families are typically anxious anyway. start of the new school year is exciting. >>this also change and so we know already that there's a heightened level of anxiety around the start of school a result of. violence and activities that have occurred in schools and recently. >>in the communities doctor communities to work together for the students create sifer environment, so that kids know they can talk to adults about what happened and to listen in to support them and to get them back into a regular routine have an open door so that children know that they can talk about their fears and anxieties. >>santa clara county schools are all required to have safety plans to trainings and

>>welcome back to the kron 4 morning news the time is for 14 time to check in with meteorologist john stray bull who have to look at your tuesday morning forecast i saw was a little foggy out there when i was driving across the bay bridge shot. >>yeah little foggy this morning driving into work you might want to just slow down a couple miles per hour and we have some hot spots to we do. >>we did we have major we'll get to that in a bit at least not a whole lot of hot spots in the forecast, some mild spots ahead of us look at outside this morning. we are off to a foggy start as robin mentioned so between those hot spots that robin is going to tell you about a little bit of that fog. yeah you may want to give yourself that extra moment or 2 just to drive into work and not stress out about it too much this morning.

cloud cover you can see on satellite radar having moved across the region and now we actually have some cooler weather about to shape up across the region to were on the the first day of a pretty good cool down ahead of us today is just the start where will be the next couple of days which is below average as far as your daytime highs go for inland spots for areas right along the coast still not much of a difference from where we have been their 60's and your 70's. they're staying steady while you're out along the bay are right along the pacific. it's our inland spots that are feeling those temperatures gradually continuing to cool for mountain view. it's the low 80's today for the south bay. it's also a day spent in low to mid 80's this afternoon. san jose 84 for your daytime high fremont union city hayward on the 70's livermore pleasanton in dublin in the 80's for your highs 80's stretch northward through danville walnut creek in concord not a big difference from yesterday, but

temperatures ar sliding downward vacaville pittsburgh in the 90's with benicia and the late whoa upper 70's to mid 80's today. santa rosa in petaluma each 83 for today's daytime highs, let's break down the next 7 days from 85 degrees today down to 83 tomorrow and further cooling into thursday and friday down to 81 degrees fear averaging when daytime highs in the meantime coastal in bayside area staying pretty steady you'll notice a mild cool down though right alongside the bay into saturday are cooling trend reverses and temperatures begin to rise taking us eventually back to the 90's by sunday and monday for those same inland areas. rob thank you john that we want to check back in on our big trouble spots around the bay area. >>this morning we're starting off with a quick peek at the richmond sandra fell bridge west bound looking good here at the toll plaza with and are reports of any major issues as you work your way from the toll plaza out to highway one oh one. but i do want to take you over to san brew now we

have a big problem northbound one on one at 3 a multi vehicle accident which include several cars and a big rig, we know that one of those vehicles have a flipped over it's unclear which one. but at last check and no one was getting through this is north one o one right at the 3.80 split. and so chp says that they are forcing traffic over to west bound 3.80 they've also been running traffic break so a big mess here there's no exact estimated time for clearing but they are working on it and it is causing a backup from s f o if you're a little bit closer to 2.80. definitely consider to 80 instead of one oh one or there's also el camino reale but a big trouble spot here in the singular has been issued by chp and i'm also tracking a major trouble spot in the east bay, this is a fatal accident in san leandro this is eastbound 5.80 and dunn avenue, the offer at this close at around 12 22 this morning. a driver spun out crashed into a tree did not survive. they have a corner on the scene thw trucks on

the scene as well, but also no estimated time of clearing so you need to hop off just before our after dunn avenue if you want to exit here on east of 5.80 west 5.80 is doing just fine and not impacted. 80 west into san francisco, a long line in the cash lanes on the right hand side. but no major issues here you have a couple of cash lanes open. it's going to be a quick trip across the upper deck. here's 92. this is your trip across the 70 oh bridge and it's looking good. it's very quiet. a little busy but not bad 11 minutes to make your way from hayward over to san mateo and then with the richmond sandra fell once again a quick peek here at the toll plaza traffic right on time and 8 minutes to make it across and over to one on one. we head to the north bay now where police are investigating a stabbing at a restaurant in downtown santa rosa. this happened at le rosa top korea angrill that's on 4th street. and police say they responded to a fight that involved at least 15 people. got there they found a 28 year-old a santa rosa man on

the patio with a stab wound in his back and also broken nose. police say the victim was uncooperative with their investigation. he was taken to the hospital and he is expected to be okay. well to the east right now the east firefighters are getting the upper hand on a fire that's burning near brentwood. the marsh complex fire now 85% contained. it's burned more than 750 acres marsh creek road is finally back open that road have been shut down as crews worked to contain the fire that broke out early saturday morning. no structures have burned. pg e is giving us a look inside its upgraded while fire safety operation center there it is so it's upstairs at the utility's headquarter and san francisco and a large wall of monitors that we just saw earlier can feed satellite data that data comes from weather sensors across the state and also weather forecasts. so pg e says that the center is staffed 24 7 employees also monitor social

media. the goal is to watch for fires and also determine if pg e equipment is in danger and the side of resources should be sent out 2 assists. now the center also watches for weather events like santa ana winds. and that could cause power lines to spark. a lot national news now the trade war between the united states and china is escalating in some analysts fear that the conflict could reach a level that would make it hard to reverse. john lawrence has the latest. >>president trump and xi jinping no longer walking together but rather walk in the park. >>pect more fed rate cuts probably down the road and that would you'll likely lower the value of the dollar which would lower interest rates further the us and then we have to wait and see what china does next to react to that. >>mister trump vented his frustration in a tweet monday saying china is intent on continuing to receive the hundreds of billions of dollars they have been taking from the us with unfair trade

there's some fog out there hopefully it will clear and we'll have another nice sunny day johnson man with all the yeah, you the way that foggo and eventually does clear out and once the fog does clear usually it does set us up for a bit of sunshine. so we're looking at that yet again today. >>let's get a look outside of some of the fog hanging out across the golden gate bridge. you. i don't see much of the bridge this morning, one of the reasons for that is start but the other reason is it is on the touch of a foggy side to the start to this day a visibility has improved over the past few minutes though at times you're going to see it falling, especially right up and down the coast, although is sky should clear a little bit sooner than they did for the day yesterday you remember your morning yesterday we stayed foggy through much of the morning this time around you should be seeing that sunshine are turning a bit sooner and partly cloudy skies at least a start but skies becoming mostly sunny sunny towards the finish of the day later on as for temperatures 50's and 60's is where we're sitting
