about continuing with the ground attack in raffle where more than 1 million palestinians civilians shelter right now. that is said by the israelis as being 1 of the last major strongholds of hamas that took hostages and killed several people on october 7th. meanwhile, new information that a shipment of humanitarian aid has left cyprus and will be delivered at a newly us built pierce southwest of gaza city. this will start to get aidan to people. is the 1st delivery that will be taken off the ramp that you see here behind me. and it comes at a crucial time. much needed the united nations recently, said people in gaza are nearing famine. not to mention israeli troops issued an evacuation order for 100,000 palestinian people in the southern city of rafah. it's unclear right now if israel will follow through with his invasion in that area. but look help is on the way from american muscle at the nation's capital, the head of berkeley school district testified in the 1st ever hearing on anti semitism in k through 12

schools. superintendent faced hours of scathing criticism and scrutiny over the handling of alleged anti semitic incidents in the district. you know, all across the bay area there have been attempts to hold so called teachings about gaza, which are usually condemning the actions of israel. some jewish parents, though, say their children have had to leave classrooms. because of images like anti israeli art. they add the angst is extending to outright hatred of jews. others, though, say that that's a lie. >

to hydrate all throughout this afternoon. take good care of your loved ones. and if you do work outside or if you have any outdoor activities make sure you wear plenty of that sunscreen. >reed>all right time now for a look at this morning top top stories pg and e crews are making progress in restoring power to customers near lake merritt, they say it looks like this was caused by some sort of equipment issue take a look at the outage map here now less than 700 are in the dark. that's down from more than 700 earlier this morning, most of the power loss now happening in the bella vista neighborhood. pg and e thinks it should be restored sometime before noon. they have made a lot of progress. we'll keep you updated on this story throughout the morning. wow. well in north bay cold case team used dna to identify homicide. victim after more than 5 decades. here's the backstory sonoma county investigators say it all started with the discovery of this woman's body at the bottom of a steep cliff in 19. her cause of death at that time not determined but in 2009. with the help of a state professor. the case was reopened and it

was determined the woman was murdered. well, then, finally in 2023 she was identified. as lillian marie cardona's of san francisco. an update to a car theft in fremont. police have arrested 1 of 2 suspects who each stole a porsche. from a car dealership showroom. this happened last month. police say the suspect drove the stolen cars through the glass window of the dealership and got away. the combined total value of the cars was more than 500,000. both cars have since been recovered. former bay area congressman pete mccloskey has passed away at the age of 96. he ran his as a republican. challenging president richard nixon back in 19 and 72. eventually changing his party affiliation to democrat in 2007. mccloskey. represented san mateo county for a long time. 67 to 80. he was the co founder of earth day. supported abortion rights and stem cell research. his family says he died of congestive heart failure at his home in winters. california. well, the battle across the bay over airport

bay. and several hours directors for the poor to vote and will hold a final vote to rename oakland international to san francisco bay, oakland international airport so looking live at oakland airport this morning. we know of this airport gets the new name san francisco city attorney will sue for trademark infringement. airport bosses in the east bay want the change, saying that travelers really don't know where oakland is and adding san francisco bay to the airports name would make things clearer for passengers so that's a thesis. that's a philosophy. we went out and we tested it with the passengers. >

heat risk in our inland areas. not only today, but tomorrow to luckily tomorrow. the coastal areas start to cool down just a little bit more into our friday setup. but this weekend is still going to be a warm 1 nonetheless, and the reason why we've been dealing with so much he is high pressure sitting just offshore acting like a heat dome above us, but we still get those offshore winds and so gusty conditions this morning. morning, especially up in the north bay will last into this afternoon. if you live near napa or sonoma let's take a look at those areas, though. napa sonoma all the way up into santa rosa, we're talking about upper 80s today with low 80s near san francisco. keep in mind. it was just 2 days ago we were talking about 60s in san francisco. so this is a completely different forecast. as we head into the next couple of days. that high pressure system is keeping us really sunny and really warm. we're talking about low 80s in redwood city. operating all the way over into livermore and down into the south. santa clara valley. but you know what? i want to show you the next 7 days because it's not just today that we're holding onto this heat and all the sunshine that's going to be the case tomorrow, to actually warming up even more tomorrow into the upper 80s to the where
