cbs news, bay area. >> the story we start with tonight is the kind of thing you might categorize as an irrational fear, something you hear about sometimes, it is horrifying, but something you would assume never would happen to you. a hidden camera in a restroom, watching people's every move. this happened 290 victims who use one starbucks bathroom in san jose. a man stashed a camera under the sink, and it recorded everyone, from elderly people, too young children. this man was behind it. when they got to his house, police say the camera was just the tip of the iceberg. we talked with a neighbor who was there when they closed in. >> this starbucks closed early in the afternoon, as the news broke. officers found a camera pointed directly at the toilet. they made an even more

disturbing discovery at the suspect lives in. this neighborhood is usually very quiet. maria just moved in this year, and was abruptly woken by the sounds of police. she didn't want her face shown, but she shared this picture of the scene outside they said this is san jose police, come out with your hands up, they have canines surrounding the house, and we have a warrant. >> police were here to arrest this 35-year-old man. >> i saw the gentleman come out. he was yelling, saying i have a baby in the house. he was trying to warn them. >> this woman came out of the home, but denied knowing the man. another neighbor confirmed he was the husband of the house. they found micro cameras

and 20 firearms, including an assault rifle, and an unregistered gun. >> it's the weapons that are scary. the invasion of privacy is illegal and rude, but no one is going to die from it. >> videos were captured on january 30. police described the video as graphic. many of victims were fully exposed. there were 91 victims, ranging from four years old, 290 years old. >> it's very concerning, i am concerned for the children affected by it. >> there's a lot of young people coming in and out. >> were as has been booked on gun charges, and possession of child pornography. maria says she feels safer knowing he is behind bars. >> i have always lived in downtown, but then moved out, and then moved back. i know that it can be dangerous here.

but it's crazy to think that someone had guns. >> pulleys are looking into whether or not there were guns here, or at other locations. if you believe you were a victim, call the san jose police department. an update on a deadly double shooting, the victim and a suspect shot each other. a pair of men were trying to rob a 62-year-old delivery driver who works for a legal cannabis business. he died in the shootout. davis died at the hospital today. the second suspect is still on the run. now we want to return to a story we have and following all week. a heartbreaking development, a violent weekend crash has now killed an entire family involved. police tell us the three-month-old baby, who initially survived, that child

died in the hospital today. his mom, dad, and one and a half-year-old brother died. the 78-year-old driver is facing multiple charges, including regular manslaughter. defense attorney tony brasses the whole thing could enter without a jail sent us. >> there is real consolation. the best you can do is give closure. you can say we are not going to trial on this case, they don't have to ever relive this. we will try to resolve this in a way that makes sense, given that imprisoning an 80-year-old makes little sense for anybody. >> at last checked, the driver is still in the hospital. police say she was driving the wrong way, and showed signs of hitting the brakes before hitting the bus.

a bunch of people have the same excuse for being late for work today, they all had their tires slashed. someone slashed the tires on more than 20 cars. police arrested a 22-year-old shortly after the first 911 calls came in late last night. he was booked on 22 counts of felony vandalism. the motive is still unclear. you might be tempted to roll your eyes when someone says every vote counts in an election, but it is hard to argue against that, given what is happening in one south bay race. evan and joe are separated by three votes in the 16th personal race. not 300, three. whoever eventually wins will face sam in race. a hot air balloon drifting toward disaster, but most

[ music ] >> this story reads like a plot of a crime novel. a pastor is accused of hiring a hitman to kill his daughters boyfriend. he was arrested after police say he paid $40,000 for two men to conduct surveillance on his

daughters boyfriend, and then to kill him. >> it was hard to believe, he is a pastor, you don't expect that. >> the victim was driving to a riverside neighborhood when another car pulled up, and people inside started shooting. he was hit multiple times, but could not call for help, because one shot hit his phone. he went to the hospital in his bullet riddled car. >> he is a good, churchgoing young man. >> police uncovered the murder for hire plot, and arrested the pastor, and one of the hitmen. as for a motive? >> one thing that could be possible is just the extent of this pastors religious beliefs. he was overprotective of his daughter. >> the victim is out of the hospital, but is still recovering. wild video out of paul

country, a hot air balloon drifting toward disaster on a minnesota highway. i went right into a set of powerlines, setting off an explosion that separated the balloon from the basket. the basket fell about 30 feet, landing off the highway, and starting a fire. all three people walked away with minor injuries. >> how? >> i don't know, but i do know this is what i picture when people offer a hot air balloon ride. >> don't picture it going well. those people better when the lottery. he happy with your winnings, good luck from there. around the bay area, if you want to head up in a nonmotorized aerial device, the weather is going to be

operative tomorrow. one more dry day, then things shift on friday, as the storm system is going to be sending rain, gusts of wind, and cool conditions continuing into saturday, and even early next week. first, let's enjoy the calm before the next storm system. clear skies overhead, high clouds in the atmosphere, we are down to 49 in santa rosa, otherwise, lower to middle 50s around the bay area. we have middle to upper 40s, around 50 degrees to begin the day on thursday. we are going to warm-up away from the water. let's check out the forecasted high. temperatures reached the lower 70s, the temperature in morgan hill is a 71 degrees, with 70s inland and in the east bay. these warm spots are five or six degrees above average. half moon bay, at along the coast, you have a

chance of exceeding 60 degrees tomorrow, just barely in the upper 50s for the last few days. san francisco and the north bay, it's a little bit cooler. most of this fog will be concentrated in the north bay valleys. let's take a look at the pollen count for tomorrow. one more day in the medium to high category, edging toward the high category. good consequence of the rain is that it it will wash some of the allergens out. rain approaches as we had through the day tomorrow, but it is still lurking offshore tomorrow evening. just a few sprinkles, with a better chance of rain moving into the north bay friday morning, then that rain spreads by friday afternoon and into friday and, with subsequent waves of rain coming at us off and on. there is still an unsettled forecast,

and another good chance of rain by the middle of the next week. there are four straight days of at least some rain, most of us will have a half-inch to an inch of total rainfall. we see a little bit more in the santa cruz mountains. in the sierra, this is going to be a snow maker, with a winter storm watch in effect sunday morning, friday night and saturday is when the heaviest snow will fall. some of the peaks will pick up 3 feet of total snow. saturday is the wet half of the weekends, sunday is not going to become the dry, i wouldn't cancel any outdoor activities yet. i would be flexible as we head into the first weekend of spring, temperatures are only in the upper 50s and lower 60s on saturday, and sunday, with not much of a warm-up next week. the next wave of

finished the season 23-11. it's hard to find anybody rooting against long beach state, after what they went through last week just to get to the big dance. the head coach was fired last monday, but he wanted to finish the season, so he went to las vegas with his team, and they won the big west tournament. as he jokes, he is basically coaching for free during march madness. >> george was trying to get fired, still going to work every day, that's me. >> i want to walk away with people saying wow, that guy got canned. >> i've got a car payment and a house payment. i didn't know how i was going to do it, i don't really care. >> i love this man, he went out with some old coaches, he made them pay for dinner, he says he doesn't have a job anymore.
