half a dozen world cup games. this wired wednesday, let's talk artificial intelligence and highlight the best parts of the nvidia a.i. conference so far. we will chat about apple possibly implementing google's a.i. and youtube requiring video creators and add new a.i. labels in an effort to be more transparent. joining us is the video host and producer for cnet. let's start with nvidia hosting the conference in san jose. what have been the is headlines coming out of the event so far? >> we seal -- we see how far the technology is reaching when it comes to things like a.i. it has a new blackwell platform. a gpu that will power essentially the next iterations of generative a.i. for companies like amazon, microsoft and google. we are seeing is omnivorous technology that will be used in the applevision pro. this is something people can use for enterprise reasons. if they

want to visualize something in the vision pro they can create models of real-life locations and objects and this is a way to make these technologies more relevant across platforms for more people. we saw cool robots. they are robots that are also powered by nvidia technology. we are seeing the reach that nvidia is having with his upcoming technologies. >> iphones could be using google gemini a.i. model. why would they want to tap into google? >> google has not matched out anything . when it comes to large language models. as apple reportedly develops its own large language models it makes sense to potentially team up with someone like google to power things on the iphone like using generative a.i. to compose a text message or to edit photos. it is very likely we could see that kind of collaboration in upcoming iphone models. >> youtube started to require creators to have a label on the videos to differentiate realistic looking videos using a.i. what would this look like

to viewers like us? >> if somebody uploads video and it was -- and a.i. was used to create something that looks realistic but could easily pull somebody, you will see a description that says this contains altered or synthetic content or the sound of visual's was significantly edited or digitally created. this is to make sure that we are not being fooled into thinking about something israel would it never really happened. especially during an election year, that is important because we have to look out for any misinformation as a.i. takes off across all platforms. >> what happens if there's creators don't actually add those labels? >> it is possible they could get kicked out of youtube's partner program and this is how they monetize the content. there is a huge incentive for people to follow the rules and they are able to continue to post to youtube. >> money always talks, doesn't it? >> always. >> thank you. it is important for women to create and have a cultural impact for other women. >> coming up, the change in

as we look live in san francisco, the world largest gathering of gaming enthusiasts and professionals are underway. 30,000 people are expected to attend the conference . as shawn chitnis shows us, an increasing number will be women.

>> i have been playing video games ever since i remember. >> reporter: laia bee loves video games. and made a career out of it. she is attending the game conference this weekend to highlight the work done by women just like her in the industry all over the world. >> it was not until i was a teenager that actually realized that it was seen as something male-dominated or when i went to the first videogame store of my neighborhood , i was the only girl. >> reporter: today she is the cofounder and ceo of an independent videogame studio in the roadway. and even in 2024, there are not many women like her in this industry. survey of developers this year shows that more than two thirds on men. she said the number only increases outside of the u.s. , and she estimates that only about 3% to 5% have leadership roles like her. >> it is important for women to be out there making video games

to create a cultural impact for other women. >> reporter: while only one third of developers are women, she said they make up about half of the people playing video games. >> it is important that women are well represented and they actually look and talk like real women. >> reporter: she is also the president of the away game developers association and works to get more women in the industry throughout rob in america. >> these two have very little representation and sometimes it was over sexualized or it was made like to be in the male gaze instead of something that is actually representing us. >> reporter: as a woman running a videogame studio, she can have a direct impact on the characters we see in games. and how we play them. including this one she helped create. >> we don't ask you what your gender is. you can just choose how the way you want to be perceived. and for example, the girl in the tutorial is

not a damsel in distress, she is actually helping you. it is a small little things that i think will change the perception of how people see video games and how they perceive the world. >> reporter: that is the progress that keeps her going. excited to see more women in gaming reaching more levels of the industry. >> video games actually have the power to change the world , in the way we perceive it. yes, i think it is super important and that is what keeps me here. we are just one day away from the official start of march madness. the round of 64 in the men's ncaa college basketball tournament starts tomorrow. the women will get underway on friday. two teams have punched their tickets to the first round on the men's side. wagner and colorado state won their games in the first four. two more games are set for later today. tip off of the women's first four are also today. you may be filling out your brackets, pay attention to our amazing women on the hardwood. we have seen even more interest in women's college basketball this year. earlier

this month , right here on cbs you may have watch the women's big ten championship game between iowa and nebraska. it was the most watch women's college basketball conference tournament game ever on any network. some people are not even paying attention to the men's tournament this year. and focusing on the women. one of those people is and be a legend shaquille o'neal and he told people magazine in part, women's college basketball is just a better game and more competitive. the stars are helping bring more interest to their game. he pointed to lsu start, angeles, usc freshman sensation, juju watkins and we cannot forget iowa's superstar caitlin clark . she stands alone as the highest scoring division i college basket ballplayer ever. in the bay are stanford women powered by the ncaa's winningest coach tara vanderveer, will represent northern california in the tournament. the to see will play norfolk state on friday.

with san diego posting a .225 e.r.a. .225 e.r.a. just like yesterday as we kicked off the first day of spring we are dealing with partly cloudy skies this afternoon and beautiful weather to get out and get some fresh air. sitting just off shore is a storm system that is starting to develop as we head into the next couple days. the system will bring in a series of showers for us heading into this weekend. snow into the ciara and back in the bay we will get windy conditions with daytime highs jumping from the 70s that we have today down into the 50s just into saturday and sunday's forecast. right around the corner a big difference for us throughout many of our inland areas. we will watch this along the coastline and in the inland areas we could see close to an inch of rain accumulate in the north bay heading into monday of next week. have an inch into the santa clara valley. that same storm system will bring in a plethora of snow for the ciara . closed to 20 inches near kirkwood, donner. an
