probably doesn't get much cozier than this, the world's longest scarf potentially, from richmond taught herself how to crochet a couple of years ago after a health issue. she says she soon decided she wanted to beat the guinness world record for the longest scarf crocheted by an individual. that record actually stands at 834 eight and eight inches. but earlier tonight, daisy invited guinness officials for an official measuring in hopes of beating the current record. she also told us about her crocheting process. >> i to do it little bits here and there everyday. actually ended up averaging a little over two feet a day once i get all my calculations and in some ways the hardest part is what you are seeing right now which is getting it measured, getting it or donated and hold it together. >> [ laughter ] >> oh my. >> we are going to have to wait to hear she

[ cheers and applause ] thanks for watching. well guys, hillary rodham clinton is my guest tonight! [ cheers and applause ] she is here to promote her new broadway musical. [ light laughter ] she's going to talk about the upcoming election. and then give her review of "godzilla x6kong." it's gonna be a very interesting show. [ cheers and applause ] i don't know why -- hillary produced a new broadway musical calls "suffs," about the women's suffrage movement. yep. it's her first time back on broadway since she was in the cast of "starlight express." [ cheers and applause ] i didn't know she could roller skate. yep, a musical about women desperately fighting for their rights. it's set in the historical time period of today. [ laughter ] even trump is excited about

"suffs." he was like, "i love suffs. [ laughter ] but i also enjoy double suffs and mega suffs. [ laughter ] sometimes i combine the mega suffs to make a mega mega suff." [ laughter ] well, this is fun -- today, president biden and the first lady hosted the 144th white house easter egg roll. but the event was delayed 90 minutes due to thunder and lightning. [ audience oohs ] and this was interesting, vice president harris told biden, "you know a great way to get rid of lightning is to stand on the balcony holding up a golf club." [ laughter ] yeah, it rained for most of the event. nothing makes for a great easter egg roll like a wet bunny suit. [ light laughter ] at one point, the easter bunny joined biden on the white house balcony. can we see a photo of that? yeah. [ laughter ] biden came out and said, "look, i know i'm mentally stable, but everyone else can see the six-foot bunny next to me, right? just want to make sure that's -- [ laughter and applause ] that's real, right? it's real?" meanwhile, yesterday, trump

posted an easter message on truth social. here's what it said -- "happy easter to all." [ cheers and applause ] nice ending. wow. speaking of truth social, the company's stock is plunging after it was reported that last year, it lost $58 million. yep, truth social's stock tanked so fast, they're changing the name to twitter.

[ laughter and ohs ] when he heard another one of his businesses was tanking, trump was like, "ah, they blow up so fast." [ laughter ] as a result of the stock tanking, trump's net worth dropped $2 billion. yep, trump's so panicked, he's now selling copies of the torah. [ laughter and applause ] "my bible is doing so well --" well, get this, in order to settle a privacy lawsuit, google has pledged to destroy millions of users' browsing data. and based on your silence, it sounds like there's some very relieved people in tonight's audience. [ laughter ] ♪ [ cheers and applause ] everyone's like -- well, google's like, "your search history may be gone, but our judgment will last forever." [ laughter ] yep, the lawsuit accused google of tracking what people search in incognito mode. >> steve: ooh. announced that personal data from 73 million current and former customers were leaked onto the dark web. it's scary to think that the web we're using is the good one. [ laughter ] asked if he was worried, at&t's ceo was like, "oh, no, i use verizon." i thought i was going to be late. and so, i went in. the doors were kind of shut. they're like someone's talking. so i go, "okay." they go, "well, you can just -- we'll squeeze you in." so, they snuck me in. steve was on stage talk -- steve martin was talking. he was so funny. he was like, "you know, ever since i was a little boy, i've always --" [ light laughter ] "it's been my childhood dream to have a documentary made about me." [ light laughter ] "produced by a24 and airing on apple tv. since i was a boy i dreamt that --" and he's like -- he goes, "today we're going to be showing you part one. it's an hour and a half. part two we can't show you for legal reasons. [ laughter ] and then we'll show you part three. it's four hours and -- then, we'll go to part four, of course, which is --" you know. and then -- he was so funny. anyway, so he's done -- he's talking. and he goes, "all right, let's start the movie." and the lights go down. and steve walks by and he goes "oh, hey," and he comes and sits next to me. >> steve: aw. >> jimmy: so, i watched the documentary about steve martin with steve martin. [ audience aws ] can you imagine that? [ cheers and applause ] and i was freaking out.

i don't know if he was psyched that i was next to him or what, 'cause i kept, like, banging his leg. i'm like, "that's so funny. that's so funny." and he was like -- probably like, "get away from me, dude." [ light laughter ] but it was fascinating. his career is unbelievable, steve martin. i -- you watch his awkward phases, and when he first started out and didn't know what he was going to do, whether it was funny or not. he was playing like these rooms for like seven people. seven people. you can count them. he counts them. he goes, "there's seven people here." and then, they show you his journals that he wrote about, like, starting, like, what's happening. he's feeling that something's happening. they have -- interview all his old girlfriends. >> steve: oh. [ audience ohs ] >> jimmy: yeah, it's fascinating. then, they show a love letter he wrote. or a postcard he wrote to his girlfriend. and he was like, "i'm thinking i want my act to be more avant-garde," is what he wrote. he goes, "i'm also growing a a mustache, are you?" [ laughter ] it's -- it's phenomenal -- i just -- just to see everything. and him going on the road, and all this stuff, and how tough

it -- the whole act was. and i think bob einstein told him -- 'cause his act was weird, you know, and silly. and bob einstein said, "i think you getting old's going to help your act. because i think right now, you're young and silly. but that's what young people do. but when people realize that you're old, they just realize you're -- this is funny, you're doing jokes." and like, he does stuff. he wears, like, the balloon hat and he's got the glasses with the fake nose. and he's like, "i just want to be serious for a second." [ laughter ] you know? it's so funny. then they show him seeing "saturday night live" for the first time. because -- and him going, "whoa, there's other people like me?" [ light laughter ] >> tariq: whoa. >> jimmy: you know? 'cause he's like -- he's been on the road for 15 years by himself being a weirdo, you know? you don't know who's -- >> steve: yeah. >> jimmy: you're by yourself. i mean, the road's a pretty lonely place, you know. just, you go up and do your bits. but it's like, he saw that show, and he's like, "these people are doing the same -- they're getting the same sense of humor that i have." so, that's why he wanted to come and do "saturday night live." and then, he does that and it explodes.

and now, he's selling arenas. going to see a comedy, he's the first rock star comedian. and it was interesting to watch steve watch him. he didn't really laugh. [ laughter ] at anything that he was doing. he was laughing at other things. you know, there was other comedians. and he means so much to comedians, but -- and every comedian loves steve martin, but -- i'm one of those comedians. i'm one of those people. and for him to sit next to me during his documentary was so special. i couldn't believe it. anyway, thank you steve. [ light laughter ] >> jimmy: he's like, "yeah, i'm not doing this. what's this -- i was promised." >> we did the egg hunt. we did the egg hunt, which was great. and you know, it was a little bit "lord of the flies" but it worked out. [ laughter ] >> jimmy: yes, it is, yeah. >> so we were at a restaurant, and they'd had an easter bunny, but the easter bunny had left. >> jimmy: yeah.

>> so, the waiter goes, "oh, i see that this is a challenge. i will be right back." and he went, and i don't know where he dragged this poor person from. [ laughter ] but he was in the full regalia. i think he might've been on the 5th avenue easter day parade, right? >> jimmy: yeah, he's like, "i just left, all right lets go do it --" >> he's like, "hurry up, the kid won't eat until he sees you." >> jimmy: here's a photo of the easter egg roll. >> oh, yeah. that was at the white house. >> jimmy: at the white house, sure. >> yeah, that's -- yeh. >> jimmy: do you -- what's interesting about this is, someone -- it's always someone that everyone knows plays the easter bunny. >> well, it's -- it's usually the member of the staff that draws the short straw. >> jimmy: yeah. [ laughter ] yeah, exactly, you're like -- >> you know what you'll be doing easter monday, yeah. >> jimmy: you know, i was lucky enough to go to the white house easter egg roll last easter. and so, they had the same thing, nice easter bunny is walking around, and i think it was one of president biden's assistants. >> yeah. >> jimmy: and he's talking to the bunny like -- like it's their assistant. he's like, "so anyway, blah, blah, blah." and i go, "hey, stop talking to this bunny, people are going to think that you're crazy."

[ laughter ] no one knows that that's your assistant, everyone thinks the president is talking to the easter bunny. stop doing it. >> oh, my god, i mean, you can imagine what trump would do with that. [ laughter ] >> jimmy: and he did. he did do it, yeah. >> no sense of humor. no sense of humor at all. >> jimmy: zero sense of humor, yeah. >> i mean, come on, they were telling jokes. >> jimmy: can we -- yeah. can we talk about the upcoming presidential election? >> oh, no. >> jimmy: yes, we have to. [ laughter ] >> let's stick with the easter bunny. >> jimmy: we have to. no, no more easter bunny talk, yeah. i mean it's -- it's biden versus trump, we know that. >> yes, it is. it is. >> jimmy: what do you -- what do you say to voters who are upset that those are the two choices? >> get over yourself, those are the two choices. yeah. >> jimmy: yeah, love that. yeah, good. [ cheers and applause ] >> and, you know, it's kind of like one is old and effective and compassionate, has a heart, and really cares about people. and one is old and has been charged with 91 felonies. [ laughter ] >> jimmy: yeah, okay. [ cheers and applause ] >> i mean.

>> jimmy: okay, interesting. >> i don't understand why this is even a hard choice really. i don't understand it. but we have to go through the election and hopefully people will realize what's at stake, because it's an existential question. what kind of country we're going to have, what kind of democracy we're going to have, and people who blow that off are not paying attention. because, it's not like trump, his enablers, his empowerers, his allies, are not telling us what they want to do. i mean, they're pretty clear about what kind of country they want. >> jimmy: yeah, get out there and vote. >> get out there and vote. well, that's what this is really about. get out there and vote. i mean this is such an exciting, i would even say thrilling, story of real life women, you know? great american women, like alice paul and ida b. wells and carrie chapman catt. i mean real -- real historic figures. and what they went through to get us the right to vote. and so when people blow it off and you think about these women picketing, marching, going to prison, being force fed to get the right to vote.

right? and you can't just blow it off. i mean, it was important then, it's as important right now. and the story is really powerful. [ cheers and applause ] how did you get involved as a a producer? >> well, in the -- i went to see it at the public theater. and then a year later i got a a letter from shaina, the woman who conceived it, wrote it, the music, the -- everything about it. and she asked me if i'd be willing to be a co-producer. i said, " well you know, i've never done that before." she said, "yeah, but you know, you've kind of lived the story, you understand the story." and i said i'd love to if it's -- you know, if you want me to, i'm in. so they sent me a video in the summer of 2023 of the reworked play, and she was just, you know, so excited to share it with me. and i watched it, you know, and i took notes, and i got back to them, and i talked through what i thought, and what i thought, you know, could, you know, make it even better. and it was -- it was so

exciting, jimmy. i have to tell you. >> jimmy: it's a big deal. >> it is a big deal. it's a big deal for me. >> jimmy: now it's on broadway. >> and now it's on broadway. and people who are seeing it -- some of your team backstage have already seen it. and it's -- it's a real story, and because it's a real story, you see the friendships, you see the conflict. you know, it's also a great depiction of how you make change in america. how frustrating it is, the outside-inside game. i mean, the people who had been at this for so many years, they're getting tired but they're -- they're thinking, you know, they've got to convince president wilson, they've got to convince the congress. and they're playing the inside game. then the younger women who always show up and say, "wait a a minute, we've got to do it differently." and they'd been in england and they'd seen how the suffragettes in england had pushed for the vote. and so there's a conflict between those who have been at it a long time, and those who want it done faster. and they think they have a a better idea. it's such a great drama. and the music is absolutely contagious.

and the last -- the last song, not to give anything away -- is about "keep marching." and what is more important than to be reminded right now, that, you know, there's so many things going on in this country, so many things going on in this world, and progress is possible but not guaranteed. that's one of the lines in the -- in the play. and i think, boy, that is 100% right. [ laughter ] >> jimmy: that's what i was getting, a little menthol. >> yeah, a little, like, the little menthol. >> jimmy: a little menthol, i can breathe better, yeah. >> yeah. >> jimmy: just talking to you. it's always good to see you. and now here you are in "merrily we roll along." this is -- i mean, it's a giant buzz over this. this is insane. >> this show is about a group of friends that lived in new york for 20 years, and we start the show at the end, and go back to the beginning. so i start the show at 40, and end at 20-years-old. and there's -- i've lived in new york now for about 20 years, and so there's something for all of us working on this show that feels super personal. and because it goes back to the beginning of the story at the end, and we end at 20-years-old, we end with this energy that you have when you first move to new york, and are excited and full of dreams.
