and starbucks, for example. this will impact more than half a million, 500,000 federal workers here in the state of california who until today averaged $16.60 an hour, which is only slightly above the state's minimum wage. the new $20 minimum wage amounts to roughly $20.50 pay raise. the state said that restaurants that produce and sell bread are exempt, but not if the dough is premade elsewhere. restaurants inside grocery stores are exempt, as are theme parks and other locations. during this morning's press conference, we heard from a mcdonald's worker in los angeles who was appointed by governor newsom to work on the fast food council. here is what she said through an interpreter. >> workers are worth more and our families deserve better than poverty wages.

11:05 am
today they said they were worried about safety and economic impact if this project continues. >> the reality is if we lose this hotel, it is going to hurt financially to the tune of about three-quarters of a million dollars. for 3.2 square mile town that only zoned 7% of its land for commercial, that hurts. >> we're ready to do our part in ways that does not significantly affect our tax revenue, preserve our local jobs and preserve our local businesses. and i am confident that if we listen and work with one another that our people, that our community will support the right solutions. >> the hearing for that lawsuit between the city and the county will happen coming up on wednesday. well, just in, the share price of former president trump's company is dropping
