information leading to the return of four american citizens kidnapped at gunpoint in mexico. for more on this, we go to washington drew, good morning what do we know so far about what led up to this kid mapping? >> well, good morning, phillip this happened in the mexican city of matamoros just across the border from the american city of brownsville, texas now violence there between warring cartel factions has the region under a level four travel advisory, which urges americans not to go there. family members say the four americans are from south carolina u.s. officials say they entered mexico in a white mini van last friday shortly after, the car was hit with gunfire from unidentified shooters video shows gunmen forcing the group into a white pickup truck. the u.s. ambassador to mexico ken salazar says a mexican citizen was killed during the incident law enforcement officials say the kidnapping appears to be a

case of mistaken identity and that the four americans are not suspected of any criminal activity the law enforcement official also said a woman in the group was seeking a cosmetic medical procedure. the white house is promising to bring the attackers to justice and offering support for the family >> we are closely following the assault and kidnapping of four u.s. citizens in matamoros, mexico these sorts of attacks are unacceptable i don't want to share too much about the information on how we're moving forward or even the individuals. we just want to be really mindful on that. but clearly we're on top of this >> reporter: now the fbi is offering a $50,000 reward for the return of the americans as well as the arrest of the kidnappers obviously, this is a very scary situation, something that's developing, continues to develop, so we will keep you updated on it, but now back to you. >> we're hoping they come home very soon and safe thank you, drew. new this morning fox news host tucker carlson
