four firefight terse are sent to bay area hospitals after two fires break out, one in the north bay, the other in san francisco. good evening. i'm ken wayne. and hello again, everyone. i'm heather holmes. we begin with that destructive fire which sent four firefighters to the hospital. the four-alarm fire broke out shortly after 4:00 at 404 center street. it appears that the fire began in the building's attic. crews quickly arrived at the

scene as flames shot out of the post office. smoke could be seen for miles. people gathered across the street. wind made the fire difficult to control. the two firefighters went to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. that fire tonight is under control but the cause is under investigation a three-alarm fire in the san francisco district. it start after 6:00 tonight in a single family home on rondell place. fire officials say it spread to a nearby apartment building. there are no reports of injuries to civilians but two firefighters needed medical attention. >> we had two firefighters injured. one because of exhaustion and the other because of laceration. minor injuries. they are both okay. >> reporter: rescuers went door to door making sure that everyone was out of their

apartment. there is no word yet on what caused this fire. >> tens of thousands of people converged converged on outside lands concert. a lot of changes were made, a lot of that sparked by complaint from neighbors because of noise, trash. >> reporter: the concert is still going. you can still hear the music. thousands of fans blocked the golden gate park for the outside land fess value. fans say that the downsize from thee days to two days is a

police ask that if you see either suspect to call 911 immediately. drivers in the east bay are relieved they can now use a bypass road to get around a giant sinkhole. the new two-lane road in richmond opened this week until now, getting into and out of a neighborhood near via vevde drive and el port drive was difficult. drivers had been squeezing by on a single lane road. crews expect to fill that hole and have the entire area fix by next spring at least one member of the golden gate bridge board of directors says that people who walk across the bay area's most famous landmark should pay a toll. joanne sanders does not say how much the toll should be but wants the money to go building a proposed suicide barrier for the stand. cost estimates for the barrier which would be a large net flung underneath the bridge are
