. that is your look at sports. have a great sunday. let's send things back to you. >> thanks chris. will the giants take on the rockies again today? first pitch is at 105. and then we're about an hour out from the start of bay to breakers. how's it looking, lisa? >> pretty nice. you know, the forecast really on track for the partly cloudy conditions that patchy fog at the coast and the upper level pattern here shows much of the same systems to the north, dropping off to the north and east of us. and high pressure well offshore. and that's what's making for the breeze. but as this system slides over to the east, then we'll get into a northerly wind and that will bring the temperatures up. look at sfo that is brightening up where we have just a little bit of fog out there. it is 52 with the fog. half moon bay 51, san francisco 53. in oakland, hayward is at 56 and sunny in san jose. good morning. 54 emeryville. right now it is sunny where temperatures have dropped off from redwood city to petaluma in the mid and upper 40s. elsewhere, 51 in santa rosa
6:49 am
with some patchy fog up through marin, but that all dissipating quite quickly. so because of the blanket of low clouds lifting so early, we're anywhere from 3 to 7 degrees cooler and by the next couple of hours climbing through the 50s, thanks to less wind and more sun. but then that wind is going to pick up. so this is the forecast for low to mid 50s for the runners. and then by the time most of them reach the ocean it will be in the 60s with those winds increasing. so patchy coastal fog this morning. so tomorrow and tuesday featuring more sun in the warming trend winds out of the north that downsloping wind that allows for temperatures to come up. and we're going to shut off that onshore flow a little bit. and then later in the week, the gusty winds return with more of a generous marine layer. so from 8 to 9:00, the low cloud deck really dissipates and it's gone. so we're with a lot of sunshine today and the winds increasing.
6:50 am
so 8:00 we've got winds over 20 miles an hour in oakland. and then through the afternoon they not only build inside the bay, but they get quite gusty along the coast from 43 miles an hour point race to over 20 half moon bay, san jose, about 23 mile an hour wind gusts. here's a look at oracle park today. another win hopefully on tap for the giants low 6105. and we're breezy with the winds kicking up to nearly 20 miles an hour. but temperatures coming up maybe a couple degrees there. and then the fog. it will be patchy again tonight. as for your tuesday, that's the warmest day of the week where numbers will be in the mid to upper 80s. and notice the reds there into the sacramento valley, probably about 90 upper 70s by the water in richmond. so this is the warmest day. and then as we get into some minor cooling on wednesday, gets cooler right here along the coast. but staying with that 80 degree range inland by thursday, everyone feeling a little bit more of a breeze with temperatures dropping off to mainly 60s and 70s around the bay, we're going to get even
6:51 am
cooler than that as another system sets up to the north of us, and that's going to bring a chilly start, unfortunately, to the memorial day weekend. highs today from the mid 60s to the upper 60s. that's average san francisco and oakland. another day in the mid 70s for you in san jose, about 80. in santa rosa. so with that sun sooner you're going to warm up inland where upper 70s in concord. and then tonight, with the clear sky dropping off into the mid 40s, some of the protected valleys to near 50 and the accuweather seven day forecast. we're sunny and slightly milder today. upper 50s. that's cool at the coast, 70 around the bay, 80 inland. the warming begins tomorrow and the summer-like warmth takes us through the 80s inland. on tuesday and then cooler the second half of the week. >> stephanie. lisa, thank you. we're learning about trash and pollutants from homeless encampments that are now causing problems for the city of san jose and valley water. and now a new proposal from the santa clara county water district that's aims to fix it is actually stirring up some

controversy. abc seven news south bay reporter dustin dorsey has a look at the impact for many being unhoused is not a choice. >> like ruben salas, who lives in this encampment along the guadalupe river in san jose. unmanaged and unclean conditions are ■not ideal, but it's the ony option he has. do you like living here? would you prefer living somewhere else? >> well, you know, i kind of choice, i make, i make, i make, make the best of what i got. you know, i try not to complain. >> i'm trying to fight about it. >> you know, it might be bad, but you sure? yeah, it might be. but it's all i got. you know, we're about to do. >> and soon. living here may not even be a possibility. since july, valley water has spent nearly $3 million cleaning up 1300 tons of trash along 295 miles of rivers and creeks in santa clara county. and to stop people from living along the waterways. valley water is proposing an ordinance that would subject violators to $500 fines or up to 30 days of jail time. >> it's valley water's role as an as an environmental stewardship agency to ensure
6:53 am
that the waterways are clean and that the flood protection measures that we enact work as they're designed to. >> the city of san jose and mayor matt mehan have been trying to find their own solutions to clean up creeks and rivers, as well. but he doesn't want the 700 people who live along valley water's owned waterways to move out to neighborhoods with no plan. we need to work with them to identify sites where we can stand up alternative shelter, basic services, sanitation, case management, security and create a dignified and safe alternative to encampments. unhoused advocate sandy perry sees the value in clean water, but he says the only reason people are alongside the creeks is because the city and county are not offering the unhoused enough places to go. >> so this whole idea of having people go back and forth from the creeks to the neighborhoods, the neighborhoods to the creeks, uh- endlessly. it's not a solution. >> valley waters environmental creek clean up committee will discuss the issue friday before
