>> good tuesday morning, everyone. i'm rhiannon ally. >> good morning i'm derek dennis in for andrew. we begin with former president trump posting bond. >> yeah we learned new details overnight about who's backing trump's $175 million bond payment in his civil fraud case. it comes as a judge expands the gag order against trump in a separate case. abc's em nguyen is here now with the latest on that m. good morning rhiannon. >> good morning. yeah. trump's bond now prevents authorities in new york from going after his property while he appeals. the verdict in this fraud case. this morning former president trump has avoided any seizure of his new york assets for now, after posting a $175 million bond stemming from his civil fraud trial, a judge found trump and his adult sons deceived lenders and insurance companies by inflating their net worth. a court reduced the $464 million bond last week, while trump appealed the ruling.

>> we don't know what he had to put up as collateral, but likely it's quite a substantial amount of cash. and trump's lawyers had said that he could cobble together maybe $100 million in cash. but but so we don't know what else he may have put up as collateral. >> california based night specialty insurance company served as the underwriter for the reduced bond. the company is owned by don henke, a man forbes magazine has described as a little known king of subprime car loans with a net worth topping $7 billion. henke tells abc news, it's more of a business decision, but i happen to be a supporter also. meanwhile, a judge has now expanded the gag order against trump in a separate case where he's accused of falsifying business records related to a so-called hush money payment to actress stormy daniels. the judge in that case, juan mershon, is now preventing trump from attacking his family members after trump targeted merchant's daughter on social

media for her work with a group involved in democratic politics, trump has pleaded not guilty in this case and denies having sex with daniels. trump also making headlines this morning on wall street, where stock in his media company dropped more than 20% yesterday after it was revealed that his social network, truth social, lost $58 million last year, trump media was valued at nearly $10 billion when it went public last week. >> truth social is doing very well. it's hot as a pistol and doing great. >> but now an audit of the company says that $58 million lost last year raises substantial doubt that trump media can be a viable company. and back to trump's criminal case involving the so-called hush money payment. sources say that trump's former spokesperson , hope hicks, is expected to testify at the trial, which is set to begin later this month. >> rhiannon. all right. and thank you for that. a legal setback for president biden's son, hunter, a federal judge has

refused to dismiss hunter biden's tax case, so that sets the stage for a trial in june. >> an american is among seven aid workers killed by an israeli airstrike in gaza. that's according to the aid group world central kitchen, founded by chef jose andres. the group says despite coordinating with israeli forces, two of its marked vehicles were struck, leaving a warehouse. world central kitchen is now pausing operations in gaza, jose andres saying in a statement these are people angels. they are not faceless, they are not nameless. the israeli government needs to stop this indiscriminate killing . israel says it is investigating the incident in the meantime, tensions between israel and iran are ramping up. iran blames israel for an airstrike that destroyed the iranian consulate. consulate in damascus, syria, killing two commanders. in response, an iranian backed militia reportedly launched a drone attack on an israeli navy base. no casualties reported. >> now to the battle over

abortion and a major ruling from florida, a court decision on the state's abortion ban is prompting reaction from all across the country, including from president biden's campaign team. this morning, florida supreme court has cleared the way for a six week abortion ban, one of the strictest in the nation. but at the same time, the court will allow voters to decide the issue later this year in a november ballot initiative. >> we know that the majority of floridians do not want to see politicians interfering in our personal health care decisions. >> i'm going to continue fighting, you know, abortion until it's finally banned here from florida. >> the court ruled yesterday that the florida constitution does not protect abortion rights . that allows a trigger law banning abortions at six weeks to take effect in 30 days, banning the procedure before most women know they're pregnant, with exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother. governor ron desantis approved the ban last year. >> it was the right thing to do. don't let anyone tell you it

wasn't. >> florida is a key point of access for abortion services in the region. when the ban takes effect, nearly all abortions will cease in the southeastern united states. the biden campaign already responding. >> we're now going to have a ballot initiative where people are going to be able to fight back against this sort of extremism that continues to play out because of what he did in appointing the justices who overturned roe v wade, other red states that have put abortion on the ballot, including kansas, kentucky and ohio, have voted to support abortion rights. >> 60% of florida voters need to approve that ballot measure in november to protect abortion rights in the states constitution. >> in baltimore, the first vessel has now sailed through a temporary shipping channel to get around the collapsed francis scott key bridge. it was a barge carrying fuel for dover air force base. plans are underway to create two more channels as crews continue to cut through the wreckage and carry it away piece by piece, officials racing to fully reopen the port say the process could take months. >> every time someone goes in

the water, they are taking a risk. every time we move a piece of the structure, the situation could become even more dangerous. we have to move fast, but we cannot be careless. >> meanwhile, the owner of the cargo ship that hit the bridge is denying responsibility for the crash. the company filed a lawsuit seeking to limit its liability, saying the crash was not due to any fault or neglect of its own. >> in philadelphia, a truck hit an overhead bridge, shutting down a busy part of i-95. the northbound section of the highway is expected to remain closed for several days while they do emergency repairs there. authorities in atlanta are searching for a possible motive after an suv rammed into the gate at the fbi's office there, they say the driver was trying to follow an authorized vehicle. he was sent for a medical evaluation. a robot checked the vehicle for weapons, but none were found. >> a vacation nightmare for americans on a cruise in africa. they say they were abandoned

after a side trip got delayed. this morning, a group of tourists is scrambling to catch up with their cruise ship after being marooned on an island in west africa. >> the harbor master tried to call the ship. the captain refused the call. >> eight passengers, including six americans, were left without money, medication or luggage. after a local tour was delayed getting back to the ship, they say the tour operator alerted the crew of the norwegian cruise ship about the delay. >> you were like, a hard time is getting really short. and they were like, no problem, we can get you back within an hour, one of the stranded couples tells abc affiliate wpde that the ship was still docked when they got back, but even with a coast guard escort back to the ship, they say the cruise captain refused to let them board norwegian crews, saying while this is a very unfortunate situation, guests are responsible for ensuring they return to the ship at the published time. >> the bottom line was they were hours late. the ship was ready to go, the ship was already

possibly moving any operation at that point. to get these passengers back on the ship would have caused tremendous delays, and safety would have been a major concern. >> the group is now on a trek to reboard the boat, first traveling to gambia. >> the next stop on the itinerary, only to find out the ship was skipping the port due to low tides. today they're trying to make it 200 miles to senegal, and if they get to senegal, they hope to make it back on board for the second half of their trip. >> breaking overnight, extensive storm damage is being reported north of tulsa, oklahoma. witnesses say several homes were leveled in barnsdale after a possible tornado there. no injuries were reported, though the same storm system dropped hail in the saint louis area. let's check your tuesday forecast >> good morning. we are looking for the threat for severe weather today and tonight. high risk across ohio and into the ohio valley with the risk for damaging winds, large hail, and

>> we are back with some walks on the wild side here. the cost a washington state pilot his license. investigators say michael mason allowed passengers to take walks on the wing of his vintage plane while it was in flight. the faa pulled his license, calling him reckless. >> boeing's mechanical mishaps may cost united airlines pilots some paychecks. the airline wants them to take unpaid time off next month and possibly into the fall, because it's receiving fewer planes. boeing has reduced 737 production to focus on safety after january's door plug incident. a panel of experts is urging the faa to drop its requirement that pilots and air traffic controllers disclose their talk therapy sessions. they say the rule discourages workers from seeking care and acknowledging emotional troubles. it comes as the industry faces staffing shortages. >> we turn now to california and a rescue straight out of a hollywood thriller. a heart

stopping rescue caught on camera . don't let go, man. don't let go, okay? this hiker seen clinging desperately to the side of a 100 foot cliff in northern california after authorities say he tumbled down the rock face right hand through. >> there you go. >> helicopter teams using night vision to find the man barely visible as he dangles nearly 50ft above the crashing waves of the san francisco bay. rescuers, fearing he could slip at any moment. >> the rescuer afterwards speaking with him, said that that was one of the most precarious rescues because of how how the victim was grabbing on and how quickly they were to let him go. >> after more than half an hour, the exhausted hiker is hoisted to safety. i got you, brother. his hands and feet scraped up, but otherwise. okay. officials say these rescues happened more often than you might think. >> unfortunately, we lose probably 1 to 2 people per year falling off these cliffs. >> in february, another man was rescued along the treacherous california coastline. crews
