kelly and mark have special access with the winners right after they receive their awards. that's all. starting at 7 a.m, right after abc seven mornings. the oscars night also brought hundreds of protesters to the streets. marchers took over hollywood boulevard, just blocks away from the dolby theater to peacefully protest the current humanitarian crisis in gaza. the dozens blocked off traffic with palestinian flags demanding an end to the israeli israel-hamas israel-hamas war. that protest also spilled onto the red carpet and award stage. several attendees, including best song winners billie eilish and finneas, were pins for gaza in the east bay. a uc berkeley professor is vowing to remain in his campus office until university officials take action against anti-semitism on campus. he says recent violent events prompted the sit in action on abc seven news reporter cornell

bernard has more from the cal campus. >> i'm just sitting in my office with a light on in the window, professor ron hassner leaving a light on in his uc berkeley office, a signal to the campus that he's here. >> 24 over seven hassner staging a sleep in protest to help prevent violence between students, i decided to engage in a very quiet, non-aggressive, peaceful form of protest. >> i dragged a mattress into my office. >> this political science professor says he is making the small office his temporary home, teaching all classes on zoom until the university takes steps to address anti-semites on campus. he says many students have faced harassment. >> they're facing, bullies who are anti-semitic. in addition to being anti-israel. >> well, last month, the university condemned a demonstration by activists who surrounded zellerbach hall, where a pro-israel advocate was speaking on monday. jewish students are planning a march to, quote, liberate the gate, where activists have blocked

tulips, night markets and more, san francisco's is welcoming in the spring, ready for a comeback . >> chinatown is still alive and kicking and we're raring to go. >> foot traffic taking over grant avenue for the chinatown night market, designed to help businesses still struggling post-pandemic, bringing more young people uh- enjoy it and spend money. tane chan is the owner of the walk shop and she's grateful the market is back. >> this is the most wonderful event that could happen to chinatown. >> this just one of the night markets set to return to the city. the popular sunset market is expected to once again take over several blocks of the neighborhood this summer, and the bhangra and beats night market will get the party started in may. after drawing thousands downtown in its inaugural year. meanwhile, this weekend, people piled into oracle park for the giants fan fest and from the stadium to the

streets, san francisco's arbor day drawing in families for the fair. the weekend wrapping up at the golden gate bandshell, bringing back another season of more than 100 free concerts. i'm thankful for this beautiful space to have music here. tara campbell, abc seven news. >> i love hearing that music. an early burst of spring is making it a mustard march in wine country. yellow and gold mustard plants are in full bloom all over the napa and sonoma region. besides the pretty landscapes, they provide a helpful purpose. they protect the world famous vineyards. mustard contains high levels of biofuel agents, which suppress the growth of worms that can damage vines. i love the fun facts. tonight yeah, i'll say though, i haven't really been outside much because i've been glued to the oscars. so what is going on outside? >> it was nice and dry until just a couple hours ago, and now it's raining right here in san francisco. the wet weather

started up in the north bay and this is a look at live doppler seven. you can see it's a line of showers and rain and occasionally a little bit of a downpour is moving right through the central part of the bay area right now, sweeping down from the north bay. so the peninsula, south bay, east bay will some will get some of this rainfall as well. it's a level one storm on the exclusive abc seven storm impact scale. so overnight more periods of rain and showers. highest totals in the north bay. occasional wind gusts. here's the forecast animation starting at midnight. notice by about 4:00 tomorrow morning. this storm will be just about over, but wet areas on the pavement will be left for morning commuters and then tomorrow evening and overnight tomorrow night, another little weak storm moves through. and that will be our last rainfall for a while, leaving rainfall totals generally ranging from about a quarter of an inch in the south bay to nearly half an inch or more around the bay shoreline, and certainly well over a half inch over much of the north bay. overnight, low temperatures will be generally in the low to mid 40s up in the north bay, a little bit chillier with lots of mid to upper 30s there. then tomorrow's highs uh- upper 50s at the coast, mainly upper 50s across the entire north bay and
