99% of the bay area is now drought free. that's the th wve seen since 2020 improvement over last week where there was still some abnormally dry areas and clearly a significant difference over last year when they entire state was in some form of drought. so even though it the rain and the flooding has caused significant hardship. for some, the upside is the rest of us are exiting the trout condition. finally we've been asking over and over again, all right through with the drought. are we through with the drought, and then finally, some good news to be able to handle favorite question. i think exactly the check in with her up on the roof right now soaking up the sun before more rain moves into india. yeah it's absolutely beautiful out here. and you know what is wonderful is what you both just mentioned julian and larry. we've been waiting for years to see. the words we are drought free for most of the bay area. alright let me show you the drought monitor map. this is from october 1st at the start of the water year. look how bad the drought was. i mean, much of the state was in the extreme to

cookies myself as a girl scout in the eighties have always been the dough. see, does you know, it's like the sleeper cookie, but you've got to put them in some milk. let it marinate. scoop it out with a spoon. don't knock it till you try it. that's my favorite marinate. i like that the inside make them extra good. do you have a number one selling cookie? we know the raspberry rally the new one that everyone's trying to get their hands on. it sold out so what's the number two? i guess it's got to be thin mints, right? it is 10 minutes. you're absolutely right. the fan favorite by and large, it continues to be the number one. i think for decades now, for sure. so bree question here because i know the pandemic obviously was impactful and both of my daughters we used to take him around door to door and bring it to the newsroom and everything. but you kind of changed your approach, and i know that people can get them online now, but what's the recommended way to swiftly get these fantastic cookies? well,

the good the good news is our girl scout entrepreneurs are changing with the times and pivoting like all good small business owners so you can get them online. i love cookies .org and find one of our girl scouts digital pages where they have great videos. they talk about the goals for their troops and how they're trying to save and earn money for that you can. also through that same website. i love cookies .org. find a local troop where you can have a girl that lives nearby with a trusted adult. deliver them hand deliver them. that's great, too, because then you get to learn all about the goals that the girls have set for themselves and what they plan to do with the proceeds from the cookie sale. and then starting march 20th. you will see 12,000 plus girl scouts out and masks not only pulling the wagon around the neighborhood like larry described which i did myself, which i will be doing with my daughter as well but out in front of grocery stores and coffee shops, setting up their roots. and we have four million boxes of cookies in northern california that these girls are
4:45 pm
out there anxious to sell. what are they going for these days? there's $6 a box go to a great cause because i remember selling girl scout cookies and brie can you talk about you know where that money is going to go for the girls that are selling them because they do some great things with the proceeds. you know, the best part of my job is looking and listening and hearing from the girls about their big plans and dreams and goals and all the things that they do with this, so you're absolutely right. the great part of the proceeds of this is that it stays local, so some troops have trips planned. helps pay for girl scout campus. incredible learning experience. they reinvest that money and learning opportunities. chicken tin you to grow and have that personal growth opportunity. another um, benefit to that to the community as they invest in community service projects. so, for example, there are troops that gather together and put together here packets for

children and the children's hospitals or to invest in, uh certain environmental efforts to take care of the bay. so all of that really stays local, and, frankly, on top of being delicious. it's another way for our customers to give back. outside of that first. absolutely yeah. i can't believe everybody has been so restrained. we're going to dive in during the commercial break. brief. thanks so much. three ceo of girl scouts of northern california. go get your thin mints, everybody all right around to end of april. you gotta get them before they're gone. all right. that's it for the fourth four. thanks so much for joining us. we'll be right back. and umbrellas like roadside assistance quality matters. so
