>> three-quarters of a mile santa rosa and 2.5 in novato where the thickest fog is. i was blinded by the smile on joey this morning. 57 and spotty around the bay and 69 and sunny at noon and mid-70's through 4:00 and mid-60 and breezy so have a coat. 7:00, inland, we sawing for over the north and we will hang out in the low 80's and my 80's at 4:00 but dropping into the low 70's at 7:00 and along the coast limited sunshine to limited stars because of the stubborn clouds and mid-60's. we need our sunglasses so a look at the bay bridge, the metering lights were turned on and it is busy as we pull in from the east bay so the drive from the maze to san francisco is going do take 15 minutes. we have an accident working and this is going to be southbound along 680 at fremont, a lane is blocked and a hit-and-run accident and to the north near the sunol grade 84 is slow and

30 miles per hour approaching 80 and moving along 680 with a 80 over the altamont pass more than 45 minutes gets you from tracy to dublin. >> we start with developing news, the california firefighting community is mourning the loss of a pilots would plane crashed while fighting a firefighter. this picture shows the moments after the crash near yosemite national park and our reporter is at hollister air. >> he is veteran with 15 to 20 years of experience living in the bay area. he was the only one in the airplane. he is not identified until the family can be notified. we are told the pilot of the air tanker number 81 leaves a wife and children. he was sent to wildfire burning at route 140 leading into

yosemite. several witnesses it smashing into a canyon wall. >> it starts rolling. it clipped the side. it fell down. it exploded. you can see in the picture the entire area where the plane hit a huge black cloud of smoke from the gasoline and you can see where the plane fell through and the white smoke is going all the way down the mountain. >> the crews found the wreckage hours after the crash confirming the death of the pilot. all of the 23 air tankers are grounded for inspection until today l is no indication what caused the crash and the investigation is in the hand of the ntsb and the investigation will begin this morning. we will have continuing coverage of the yosemite fire on air and online with reporting continuing on twitter@abcnews

orange october lives on, the giants celebrate the win with shall pain shower in the locker room. next, a trip to the national league championship series against the cardinals and the giants' third trip in five years, last night they finished off game four of the national league division series doing it in agonizing fashion in front of the home crowd. this is a sensational smash and hits the wall and robbed the extra bases. in the 7th, bryce harper rushes this home run and tied the game at two and bottom half of the inning, the giants took the lied on a wild pitch and bases were loaded, and in the 9th, that is a winner! the giants beat the nationals 3-2 taking the series 3-1.

fremont and inland mid-80's to 90 in antioch and livermore. that is warmer-than-average. tonight, everyone is cooler but santa rosa is 48 and deeper penetration of the marine layer and the clouds so tomorrow is going to be one of the cool of the days in the forecast. high pressure is losing the grip but it is strong enough to keep the moisture and it is staying to the south the storm track is to the north the next couple of days leading to the fact we will have high pressure after the cooling trend tomorrow and thursday and look how much cooler it will be, we are back to average but for cooler than average along the coast and warm with a possible threat high fire danger saturday and sunday. monday it is going attorney warm again and then it is close enough to be sharply cooler on tuesday and most of the rain is in the north bay north if we get any next week.

in fremont, this accident is blocking one lane possibly at the exit on the parkway so helpfully it is moving afternoon the freeway. in the southbound direction you can see the grade is not too bad. as we fly over the peninsula, 280, 101, at top speed and to sfo if you have a flight to catch, traffic is at 65 miles per hour on 101 and 280 moving along decently but we are seeing slowing the closer we are to 380 and this is the drive in sfo into san francisco where you will find northbound and southbound traffic. if you are headed in the northbound direction from there to third it is 10 minutes and we are under a fog advisory for the golden gate bridge so proceed with caution. thank you. wait until you see this next story at 6:30, the big cat that

it would go to yosemite if they needed a second air tanker. an officer confirmed the pilot of the air tanker 81 was a veteran pilot who lived in the bay area with 15- to 20-years of experience and the only one in the plane. he was sent to the wildfire leading into yosemite and several dozen hopes were evacuated. the air franker he piloted crashed into a canyon wall and horrified visitors and locals and fire helpers. >> you and see the we parts of plane rolling off the mountain. all of the pilots would fly tankers contract pilots would work for a private military contractor based out of virginia. all of the 23 air tankers will
