who they say took off running down international boulevard. when the man reached 34th 34th avenue, the oakland police joined the chase and tased him. but the man kept going. >> i saw this man walking backwards like this, saying shoot me, shoot me, shoot me. and the police were out here, none of the police say anything. they were just gathered together. >> reporter: by the time the chase reached 33rd. oakland police tried a second time tase the man. that's when they say he charged at them. >> at that point other officers on scene who were there to protect the officer who had the taser, discharges their firearms, striking the suspect and falls to the ground. >> reporter: the man died instantly. b.a.r.t. worries about the public perception. >> it's unfortunate the following day we're talking

about another tragic shooting involving b.a.r.t. police officers. >> reporter: yesterday b.a.r.t. leadership announced the creation of a citizens oversight submission in response to the january 2009 shooting death of oscar grant by b.a.r.t. police. the board member says this is the type of incident the commission will look into. the community will have a meeting on thursday to talk about the neighborhood watch program. in oakland, lisa amin gulezian lease, abc-7 news. >> alan: the meeting is thursday at 6:30 p.m. at st. elizabeth elementary school in the cafeteria. berkeley police revealed a man who was shot to death last night survived another shooting two years ago. several people called 9-1-1 to report a shooting near russell street in south berkeley. the police found a wounded man slumped of the steering wheel of a red mercedes.

they tried to revive marcus mosley before pronouncing him dade at the scene. he was shot two years ago over a perception of disrespect quote. so far so good for the repair job on the b.p. oil well in the gulf of mexico. the cap has been holding for the past 48 hours. but officials want to monitor the situation for one more day. as you can see in this now familiar picture from the bottom of the gulf of mexico, the oil has been shut off. we have this live report. >> as you can see no more oil is hemorrhaging into the gulf, but it is possible that crude could once again flow into the water as the fix moves forward. with the 48-hour testing period over, b.p. cautiously declared the well cap was not a failure. >> there's no evidence that we lack integrity in the well. >> reporter: there is talk about

an end not just to the leak but to the well itself, which has polluted the gulf. the halt to the oil flow may only be temporary. the cap will be connected to pipes sending oil to surface. that may result in relieve something crude back into the water, but nowhere near the rates of the past three months. the pressure measured at 67700 poundses per square itch, the theory is that pressure dropped considerably. >> the worst is over. the well is 100% closed in now. >> scientists and engineers say the well is showing no obvious signs of leaks. b.p. will continue to monitor it for the next 24 hours as a precaution. meeting with local fisherman the governor warned the oil may

commissioner. clovis beat mike fitzgerald by a mere 1% of the vote. he will face dave jones and voter turnout was at 33%. that's just slightly higher than the all-time low set during the 2009 primary at 28%. tonight, a major east bay artery to the bay bridge will be closed while caltrans crews perform maintenance. three lanes of westbound interstate 580 headed toward the bridge will be closed as well as one eastbound lane that connects to interstate 80. the lanes will be closed from 12:30 a.m. to 7:30 in the morning. workers will be replacing old and damaged crash bay barriers.

>> alan: mexico's bloody drug war appears to have taken on a new dimension with the first car bombing launched by a drug cartel. at least three people died when the bomb went off in juarez, which is right across the border from el paso, texas. a street gang lured police to the scene by dressing a bound and wounded man in a police uniform, then calling in a report of an officer shot. the bomb went off once help arrived. the dead in the attack included a doctor who rushed to the scene to help. nato says a command dough raid foiled a planned terrorist attack on a conference in kabul. hillary clinton was expected to attend the meeting. nato says international and afghan commandos acting on intelligence captured a taliban bomb-making expert. officials aren't giving deal tails of the plot or how advanced the planning one. several, quote enemies of the

you can see the low clouds and fog moving in over san francisco. highs today antioch the winner 97. 95 concord. 92 fairfield. san rafael, 77 today. 72 in oakland. 66, san francisco. gilroy 93. of course, temperatures slowly starting to come done a bit, witch 95 in antioch. 61 in san francisco as the low clouds and fog moving through the bay area. 76 in san jose. the low clouds and fog will spread inland tonight. another warm day inlean tomorrow, and then we all begin to cool down as we head into monday tuesday, wednesday, and all of next week. you can see the crow clouds -- low clouds and fog sitting near the coach, and this is pulling the fog bank off the coast. near the coast warm to hot. inland today, and all the low cloudiness and fog will push back in towards the day and out towards the delta tonight. antioch will still be warm
