hour paycheck to investigate who some people are calling the worst mayor in america. dolton illinois mayor tiffany henyard is facing a laundry list of misconduct accusations. they include accusations that she spent a million dollars on taxpayer funds on trips, hair and makeup team and personal security. she wants is also accused of mishandling funds and facing allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation. despite marrying into the same family, princess kate and meghan mark reportedly quote don't click as royals. that's according to the author of a new book about king charles relationship with his mother. brian says he had no idea and is he shocked. ingrid telling fox news digital, kate, harry and prince william reportedly a close knit trio and meghan came into the mix and disrupted. kate wanted to like meghan but it didn't work out that way, end quote. north dakota attorney and former

>> brian: biden has already canceled $146 billion worth of student loan debt. i guess we are all paying it for 4 million americans. >> lawrence: peter doocy is live at the white house. the president, the supreme court said no, biden is still saying yes, peter trying to get some of these folks back with giveaways $146 billion in student debt canceled for 4 million americans to date. the plan is, what he was talking about this week is cancel 10 to $20,000 of interest for more than 25 million more borrowers. that now has jamie dimon telling j.p. morgan investors he thinks 8% interest rates could be on the horizon along with higher inflation. he is not sold on the soft landing for the economy and this is why. he says it is important to note that the economy is being fueled by large amounts of government deficit spending and past

stimulus. this may lead to stickier inflation and higher rates than markets expect. but this loan forgiveness is a key contrast president biden plans to keep making as the next election gets closer and closer. >> tens of millions of people's debt was literally about to get canceled but then some of my republican friends and elected officials and special interest sued us and the supreme court blocked us. but that didn't. the supreme court says. is he telling the supreme court no i'm going to do my own thing. it also shows his laziness. instead of working for the votes. going out there and talking with the american people, figuring out how to make life better, he is just going to buy the votes. the thing is. >> steve: we are paying for it. >> we are paying for it. but the supreme court is probably going to strike this down again. already two court challenges to that and it probably won't happen before the election. >> steve: the last program was with the heroes program. which was essentially for national responders during a time of emergency. this one, apparently the new approach, they have had a bunch of lawyers figure out how this is bullet-proof when it comes to the supreme court. they are going to use the higher education act instead. >> brian: a lot of democrats aren't happy with this. jared golden came out of maine said i oppose the president's first student debt forgiveness plan supreme court. and then jon tester, desperate to try to prove himself a

moderate even though he is not in montana. democrats said i made it clear president biden opposed to blanket loan cancellations that forces taxpayers to pick up the tab while failing to fix the root causes of the problem. which is how expensive private college is and why do we subsidize with federal funds if you are going to charge $90,000 a year at tufts or harvard or dartmouth? >> lawrence: see the problem is, ainsley, is, they can't go after the universities because that's where their activists are. you can't go after the presidents. you can't go after the students. you have to seal the deal. you can't tackle the real problem in higher education because those are the democrats' foot soldiers. >> ainsley: who wants to pay $90,000 a year? who can afford that the average american cannot. there are a lot of colleges. my college was not that -- not as expensive as that. and i went to a state school. and some of these states if you get a's and b's there are scholarships and call them different things depending on the state. can you go a lot cheaper.

schumer and elizabeth warren said all you have to do is flick of a pen he can forgive $50,000. but pelosi, she said in the past that biden doesn't have the authority to do, this to forgive the student loan. she said he doesn't have the power. he can postpone, can he delay. but he can't forgive debt. only congress can do that. >> brian: he also wants -- wants to make community college free. it's not free because they get paid. you have to pay the maintenance people, the professors, the researchers, the administrators. >> ainsley: trying to buy votes. >> brian: other people are paying for it. do they understand how the economy works? >> steve: right. the problem is you pump all these billions of dollars back into the economy, that's how he wound up with run away inflation. remember that? we don't want that. so, biden is going okay, how much more do i pump into the economy because last time we put a ton in, the inflation rate went up to 9%. november is coming. i can't do that. >> ainsley: when do you catch a break, steve? you put three kids through college. you probably paid for your own college. now you have to pay for everyone

else's college? >> lawrence: grandchildren. >> steve: that is why a lot of people who didn't go to college feel like they are ripped off. it's wealth redistribution. why do i have to pay for somebody ee's student loans. we should point out these are federally backed student loans. they are not state grants. >> ainsley: military, they risk their lives. they say i will fight for this country if you give me free college. >> lawrence: seems to be a fundamental misunderstanding of the american people. it brings us to our next talking point which is a lot of americans disagree with the former president's personality in some ways. everyone that i talked to say, look, things were better off. 56% of americans said that in gallup. well, this question was posed to the acting labor secretary, she didn't agree with it. she laughed. watch. >> i say it's unfortunate that some people try to peddle a story for, you know, of nostalgia for something that just wasn't true. i say that i mean, look at the numbers.

right? the numbers don't lie. you know, the last president kept talking about an infrastructure week that never materialized. president biden has delivered on an infrastructure decade where we are seeing projects, you know, shovels hit the ground in communities all across the country. and it's just, you know, it's irresponsible to suggest anything else. i don't know what to say. to dearborn as america's jihad capital and talked a little bit about how almost immediately after the attacks of october the 7th, people there were -- some people there were celebrating the horrific events that day in rallies and marches. and then fast-forward to the michigan primary, how many people voted uncommitted when it came to the line on joe biden and the democrats simply because they did not like the fact that he stood, joe biden does, with israel to the exclusion of the palestinians. >> brian: don't worry. not much longer. >> steve: here is a.o.c. she was on tv last night on late night where she was talking about how those uncommitted votes actually have a purpose. watch. >> the upside of the uncommitted movement, which is that these are folks that could have easily given way to cynicism and walked away from this process entirely. and what they're doing, instead,

is using the primary to send a message and say this is important to me, to the president. this is important to me. i'm going to engage in our democratic process. i am going to show up. i am going to vote. i am going to say what's important to me. but i also know and i do believe that many in the uncommitted campaign believe this. i also know and understand the threat of a donald trump presidency. >> lawrence: yeah. but they want to destroy the country in the process. they hate the country in the process. >> steve: why are they in this country. >> lawrence: why does the president want their votes. why do you want those people that chant death to america to vote for you? i don't understand why is there no answer from the president and the white house press secretary about the people that are in the middle of the street calling for the destruction of the country and israel? wipe them out. they have made it very clear. this is not semantics or we have to assume what they think. we now have video of what they have been saying all summer long. >> ainsley: to do the right thing can be costly. and, to your point, it could cost him votes if he doesn't

support, this if he just stands with israel. that is what the majority of the country wants him to do. this is not israel's fault what happened on october 7th. there was a cease-fire the day before. then you have hamas that comes in and steals these hostages. human beings, babies, women, not to mention the ones that they killed. put them in ovens and, you know, cut off limbs and all kinds of things that are so horrific. then they took these hostages there are 133 still being held captive. it's been six months now. what do you expect israel to do? they have to fight back. i would think we would fight back if this happened to us. we need a president that stands with him. they are our ally. >> steve: we are their best ally. >> brian: used to be. right now we have the cia director burns over there and they are proposing. he brought up a proposal. 900 prisoners, palestinian prisoners for 40 israeli hostages. at least 100 have life sentences with blood on their hands.

new york county which is manhattan. what it found was 61% of those people polled think that donald trump is guilty of these crimes. secondly, in 2020, new york city voted by 76% to 23% for joe biden. so, obviously, getting a fair jury panel is impossible. now, all of this court said was let's try to pick a jury and see if it we can get 12 people that can be fair and impartial but i worry that many, because of the high profile nature of this case, are going to want to be on this jury and aren't going to be honest with the court during jury selection. very concerning. >> brian: absolutely. it's a city of activist. i don't know if anybody noticed stop our roads every day. accused donald trump lying about 24 business records. 12 ledger extensions, 11 invoices and 11 checks. the source is michael cohen. he has got some truth problems. meanwhile, let's talk about what is happening on another court case. the doj is refusing to hand over joe biden's audio recordings of

his conversations with robert hur. remember, robert hur said that joe biden was a little bit too old and too sympathetic to be prosecuted. so far merrick garland faces contempt charges if he doesn't hand over these tapes. they are both staring each other down. garland says it's going to be used for political purposes. i don't want to take parted. what are your thoughts? >> yeah, this is a legitimate oversight function of the congress. remember, a judge just said: are you kidding me, when doj wouldn't turn over certain records and testimony from a couple prosecutors in the hunter biden case as well. so, you know, the doj, i guess, will put peter navarro in prison. will convicted steve bannon and try to put him in prison for the same thing. but, when it comes to them turning over documents or cooperating with congress. they say that they are above the law. it's kind of gross. >> brian: how does it play out? what would the next step be? >> you are right. it's a standoff. but ultimately, you know, they have to refer these contempt

for getting out of little rock. i will tell you that we have rain showers in the area. edge of rain shield here that could bring the potential for severe storms across texas, as well as louisiana. we could potentially see some severe weather. looks like we have a severe thunderstorm warning in effect in the lubbock area. you can see the overview of the severe weather for the next couple of days across the gulf coast in towards the southeast. and the ohio river valley. so that's a system we're going to have to watch. it's going to travel up towards the northeast over the next few days but i am concerned with tornadoes for parts of texas and louisiana not only that large hail and damaging winds. so, folks that are traveling from their total solar eclipse experience. just beware and check with your local weather forecast. all right. we are at the old state capital here in little rock. a beautiful museum. and i'm -- this is just a wonderful place to go. it's my first time in little rock. and i will be returning for sure with my family.
