♪ >> steve: we talked about it yesterday. everybody around the world talked about it yesterday. did you see it? well, if you were in the path, you probably did. i was actually on an airplane traveling back to be here on the curvey couch. and as it turns out, your hometown was pretty much ground zero for a great moment of totality. my daughter sally and her husband alley -- they were in the highland park area. it looks like the sun right there. that is actually the corona around the sun. the moon is dead center. that is the moment of totality. and the lights just went out and sally and aly both said it was very emotional thing. >> lawrence: i decided to go by the intrepid. >> steve: the aircraft carrier. >> lawrence: guy down and look at it. i'm looking an hour before that happened. i'm looking at what happened in dallas and texas. a cool experience. i got see this for myself.

it's a total different view here versus what was happening. >> steve: it was just kind of dim. >> ainsley: we were anchoring outnumbered will. >> steve: veranda. >> ainsley: we all had our glasses we were prepared and ready then i ran home and changed, put this picnic basket together for all the kids. the school let the girls out early yesterday. so several of us went out there. you saw electiony. our assistant who was in the picture on the right. >> steve: she assistant with snacks. >> lawrence: you are so southern. i love it. a full blown picnic. >> ainsley: my birthday one year. what great gift. we used it. we went to the park. and we saw it. the park was packed. we went behind the museum. >> brian: what did you see though, ainsley? it didn't get like texas it wasn't like arkansas. >> ainsley: you didn't see that you saw what looked like what do you call it a slice of the moon?

>> steve: janice dean little rock, arkansas talked to viewers of all ages. >> lawrence: saw the natural reaction from the animals. >> janice: you witnessed animal behavior during the eclipse what happened here. >> i noticed a lot of our animals actually came inside like it was the end of their day here like when we are feeding them. one of our horses was running around. hey, where was our dinner at? it was pretty fun. >> ainsley: that is so funny. check in with our senior meteorologist life from arkansas following the big eclipse. we were talking about dallas. i saw video of the giraffes and zebras and ostriches squeaking and squawking they did run for cover. it did effect these animals. >> janice: listen, if you were in dallas, texas, nature fireworks with severe storms. that was a hard thing to warn people about. people were outside wanting to

see the eclipse and there was severe weather in the area. here in little rock we are at the old state capital overlooking downtown little rock. it is pouring rain. we escaped the rain during the total solar eclipse. we were in that path of totality here in little rock. you mentioned the animals. i got to be at the little rock zoo and i got talk to one of the veterinarians who spoke about the be a malice' reaction. here at the little rock zoo we were curious do see if the animals reacted. what was the consensus? >> for the most part a lot of our animals didn't really care. we did see some behavior we weren't expecting. upper elephants did do some trumpeting. >> janice: i heard. >> pretty loud. i think a lot of people heard that patrolling. natural behavior they do in the wild. basically they go in a single file line and then they kind of walk around the perimeter and kind of make sure everything is safe. so we did see our chimps could that which is not something we

expected at all. other animals were laying around, taking a little snooze, which you know, it got dark. they thought it was nap time. >> janice: like some weather anchors. >> absolutely. i would say like so the set native americans, too. someveterinarians, too. >> janice: there you have it. we talked to the animals and they reacted at the little rock zoo. it was really great experience. a couple years ago, seven years ago i was in greenville, south carolina we saw a total solar eclipse there. this is my second total solar eclipse. if you look ahead 20 years, the next one i think it's 2045, it's happening again here in little rock. so they gave me an invitation to come back and i will accept that. and we will -- maybe we will be live with "fox & friends" when i'm 74. i hope -- [laughter] >> brian: maybe governor huckabee will take you out to dinner? >> janice: i would hope so. he has to do it. his daughter told him yesterday

manslaughter earlier this year and each of them could face up to 15 years in prison. they would be the first parents in the u.s. to be held criminally responsible for a mass shooting per pet yalted by their child. their son, ethan, is currently serving a life sentence without parole. we have a live report coming up on this story. country music singer morgan wallen flashing a grin in his new mugshot after he was arrested for hurling that chair off the roof of a nashville bar over the weekend. his exdenying rumors that his outburst was set off by the news of her recent elopement. fellow country star john rich offering a bit of advice for mr. i hope have people help him find a new approach for life while new court date is set for may 3rd. mayor muriel bowser tout ago brand new 24/7 surveillance

involves around allegations surrounding the village's embattled mayor henyard. there are reports henyard spent large amounts on trips and security detail. the village is more than $7 million in debt. and the mayor is facing multiple complaints and lawsuits from former employees who say they were wrongfully fired. one of them says henyard terminated her after she accused a village trustee of sexually assaulting her during a work trip. henyard is defiant. >> y'all should be ashamed of y'all isself. y'all are black. y'all are black and signatures up here and being and attacking on a black woman that's in power. >> you out of order. you out of order. you out of order. attorney? into all of these accusations. >> as a lawyer and former federal prosecutor and mayor, i bring expertise in leading investigations of this kind and understand the complex challenges of governing. i commit to you that i will follow the facts where they lead without bias and reserve comments from this night forward until the work is complete. >> lightfoot's role will be capped at $30,000. the village trustee at that time say they will check in and reassess her role. lawrence, ainsley, steve and brian. >> steve: thank you very much. keep in mind, this particular mayor was recalled in 2022. they had a vote to recall but then the illinois appellate court ruled the votes for the recall were not valid. and so she was able to keep her job. but, you know, with the village of dalton, $7 million in debt, and these allegations of lavish

personal spending, the people are steamed. it's just unusual that they would hire lori lightfoot who has got, you know, a lot of people love her in that neighborhood, apparently. >> brian: who does? >> steve: well, brian, she received a standing ovation from the residents when she was approved by the board. but there are a lot of people who say she was not a good mayor for chicago. >> lawrence: because they didn't have to live in chicago with all the crimes and the businesses leaving. this mayor right here has a million dollars security detail. there's a 2 million deficit. and by the way, guys, this is town. this is not a city. a town. she has a million dollars security detail? they owe almost half a million for the street paving service. 400,000 for the trim tree trimming service. >> ainsley: but they don't have the money. >> lawrence: they don't have the money. they found the money for her million dollars security detail. ainsley, as you noted before we were on camera, she has a hair and makeup team that the city pays for.

>> ainsley: she a mayor taxpayer dollars. >> brian: i'm totally against hair and makeup. not personally. i will say this. she also -- she also locked the doors before she -- they had the open hearing. also facing shower. sexual harassmentand retaliatio. what is she doing good. >> ainsley: three different people suing her. one of them accusing her was the former director of building permits and licenses. only ones who knows how to give these permits and licenses. the mayor, she says, asked her to do things that were unethical. said she was withholding building permits and licenses to people who didn't donate to her campaign or to people that she didn't like. and williams, this lady who is suing her, said she complained and was moved to the water department before eventually being fired. the person with the sexual harassment, retaliation complaint, that person says she is accusing the mayor of firing her after claiming she was sexually assaulted during a work trip in las vegas last year. this mayor is denying all the

accusations. >> lawrence: lightfoot is not even -- she is the wrong person to do this because do you all remember the employees that used to work for her and how they were bee rated and they said it was a hostile working environment. so now you are going to bring in the mayor that had the same type of leadership to investigate? now, it's true, she used to be a federal prosecutor and all that. >> ainsley: she is being hired to investigated mismanagement of funds in a county or a village that doesn't have any money, yet, she is getting paid $400 an hour. >> steve: until they hit 30,000 bucks and then say okay, lori, what do you have? listen, one of the people who live in the village. >> ainsley: is that how the investigation works. run outs of the 30,000? what do you have? >> brian: like musical chairs. when the music stops. >> lawrence: unbelievable. >> steve: sherri briton who lives in the village so far we don't have any idea what the mayor is spending the dough on. here she is on our friday show.

>> it's the transparency. we don't know how our money is being spent. we can't -- we are about $7 million deficit because the board of trustees who handle the money, they haven't received any of their documentation. we can only assume that it's at 7 million and growing. and this was in september 2023. we have been going through this for three years. we reached out to our attorney general, raúl. our states attorney kim foxx. the governor, i mean, everyone. and no one is really doing anything. no one is even saying well, we know that you guys are in distress. it's just she is making a fool of us. she is embarrassing. and it's all on video. it's not like this stuff is being done behind closed doors. i mean, it's for the world see. she is a nut.

>> lawrence: if this mayor career doesn't work out she will be a great model. you see all the photos of her posing for everything. >> brian: great villain on the apprentice. >> steve: in the month of march she, the mayor of this town, this village, actually said she would veto the resolution passed by the board to investigate her. so, so far, she has been able to skate. but, yesterday, apparently the board said, you know what? we are going to veto her veto. so, game on, lori lightfoot to the rescue. >> lawrence: i just love how she tried to shame the black residents because they should support her being a terrible mayor not have the proper water, not have the proper streets being fixed just because she is a black mayor. these people are insane. >> brian: i had no idea the move before you are fired is to go to the water department. make your own call is the mayor being wrong headed and are we being too tough on her?

[chanting] >> brian: do you believe this? death to america. fox news correspondent benjamin hall joins us now. that was michigan celebrating he will quds today iranian security forces. your reaction? >> remarkable. i traveled around the world. i have been to somome of the communities around the middle east that believe in this. there they stand up and they shout death to america and death to israel. to hear it come from inside michigan is frankly remarkable. this day the al quds day is in fact banned in berlin here they were celebrating it inside michigan. the concern, the worry is there is a growing move in some of these communities toward jihadi like movements. the kind of rhetoric coming out

these communities has said there is a concern here that these voices are becoming louder. not a lot is being done to hold them back. so i think it is really concerning right now that this is the rhetoric we are hearing anti-israel also holding america, these communities holding america to account for what is happening in gaza. and so the concern right now is this could escalate. eyes have to be kept on it. >> brian: so from your perspective are you surprised when people chant death to america in a u.s. state in a city on camera? there is no reaction from the white house, no concern from the state department? no words from the fbi? >> you know, i look back to england' and you look over the last 10 years. groups over here. groups in the u.k. that were saying something like this. and behind the scenes and raising money and pushing money towards some of these groups that were the pushing this kind of islamic talk. and in the u.k., they shut them down pretty quickly. if you crossed a line you said things which were inciting hatred you were shut down. i am surprised what i am hearing

at the moment i do hope the government is watching closely and if that line is crossed, that you would hope that some action is taken. >> brian: fundamentally this day only happens in gaza. only war there because of what happened on october 7th. and if there is no october 7th. if hamas doesn't do what they did on october 7th. there is no war in gaza and they hide behind civilians and hide in hospitals and schools that seems to be lost on people analyzing what is happening in this war. it's not lost on someone you spoke to that was a victim of hamas on october 7th. cuff tell us about it. how it relates to your special. >> that's right. there is a special i have been working on for the last month or so back in israel. speaking to the community and some of the people caught up in the october 7 a tacks. i can say that those are communities totally lost at the moment and they cannot move forward at the moment until those hostages are released. i sat down, for example, in episode one which came out today. i speak to a 21-year-old israeli girl who was taken by hamas on october 7th. in the music festival. she was taken inside the

tunnels. she was badly injured. shot in both her legs. one of her foot almost removed. she was held for 53 days inside gaza. we tell her story and we talk about what it was like for her being a prison of hamas. also as you see on screen at the moment we spoke to this woman who who lost her entire family. her nieces, her nephews and brother and mother. they were all killed that day. i spoke to them and talk about how it is like. also what the future looks like. i can tell you that's one of the things i wanted to evaluate what the future looks like. what the relationship between israel and gaza looks like at the moment. it's very hard talking to some of these people and seeing what they rent through. >> brian: we have a soundbite from your special from mya. >> one grabbed my hair. grabbeds me and pulled me back so everyone could see my face. and cheering like allah akbar. everyone is screaming, everyone happy. it was horrible.

>> brian: wow. and she was reliving it as she was speaking to you. >> yeah. she was held up. she was paraded inside gaza. she was tortured by some of these people by both a doctor there as well as a teacher there. and, you know, it sheds a light. it reminds us why the conflict began. reminds us of all of those people and taken hostage on october 7th. i think that's the message that everyone in israel wants to remind people hamas did exist and they want to do everything they can to get rid of the threat to israel. again, coming back to what we heard at the beginning, to hear this rhetoric in the u.s., in michigan, is taking it to another level right now. >> brian: i agree, benjamin, i'm as concerned as you are. stream benjamin's special benjamin hall series on fox nation. they would rather hide by civilians than surrender. meanwhile, one of the stars of sitcom blackish makes these wild claims about a possible trump 2024 victory. >> he will punish everybody that didn't vote for him.

>> lawrence: so the p parents of ethan crumbley sentenced today. convicted of manslaughter after their son shot and killed four students and injured six others and a teacher in november 2021. todd piro has the story. >> todd: the sentencing hearing for james and jennifer crumbly scheduled for 9:00 this morning. this is the first time american parents will be held criminally responsible for a shooting carried out by their child. both found guilty earlier this year on four counts of involuntary manslaughter. prosecutors say the parents gave their then 15-year-old son access to a gun and ignored warnings about his mental health. they say the crumblies have shown a, quote: chilling lack of remorse. the parents did stand trial
