off area. as you can probably hear the sound of the airboat you can tell patro patrols are still vey active out here. we are still seeing some of these smaller groups of migrant showing up we saw today. police are still getting calls for suspected human smuggling throughout some of these smaller border towns among the u.s./mexico border. before alright jeff thanks so much. arthel: eric and jeff meanwhile u.s. immigration system cannot keep up with the growing backlog of migrant cases. according to actio's 8 million asylum-seekers and illegal migrants will be in limbo by october that's putting a lot of pressure on immigration judges. according to researchers at syracuse university each judge closed on average around 975 cases during the latest fiscal year. average caseload of 682 judges now on the bench have jumped to 4500 per judge. for more and thus we will bring in a former immigration judge

they are being released to. they're not being held and they're not being held accountable. stew for looking some of these statistics now in terms of crime in new york city, subway crime up 13% in february but new york city crime from a last of january 2 this past january is down by a smidge 2.5% murder down by 25%. rape down the shootings down, burglar down but as you point out transit crime up 46% and as the repeat offenders so often why isn't there more of a program to deal with the repeat offenders? to target that's exactly rudy giuliani did when he first became mayor of new york. why don't the state legislators impose criminal actions and legislation to deal specifically with those repeat offenders more strongly? >> first, let me tackle the crime statistics or do not believe what you're saying because those are not accurate. i will try that right now we had

budget hearings a couple weeks ago they admitted the crime stats are not exactly accurate. someone could commit a crime 15 times they would count as one crime. so don't believe those second again i forgive the judges discretion to decide this may be dangerous this person is a repeat offender we should not release them. that would help solve the problems with the judges have no discretion they must follow the script of this bail reform law. >> isn't that the purpose of a judge? a judthe judge is supposed to st there and judge isn't that a judge is a job to decide if someone is a violent or could be a danger to the community and should not be released? >> that is exactly what we are saying. lead to the judges do their job. they were put on the bench for a reason. they have the extremes they know it they are doing they know it to look for. let them use their discretion. let them do their job. this law does not allow them to

we do not have a boeing rep here but how can boeing allegedly and not fully cooperate with the ntsb? how is that even possible? >> it's absolutely inexcusable. the ceo has gone out repeatedly saying he's going to be fully cooperative and transparent. but honestly this is nothing new to us. just like the air crash boeing was not forthcoming at all. we should not be surprised about that. one thing i want to mention ntsb chair they weren't cooperating ntsb sat on this for two months. the moment they first knew they had an obligation to alert the public. as they rushed the plane back in service we still have unresolved questions. i have got to tell you it is concerning to me ntsb did not think it was important enough

and they sat on that information for two months until the senate asked. arthel: what would they do that? >> my assessment is the ntsb looked and read the cards and figured information is starting to leak out for but we do not t to be held holding the bag so to speak. we went to come out and rent out boeing and that is what they did. you have to also understand they hesitated. arthel: he said they hesitate about they hesitate? >> i think they hesitated because i thought maybe they are going to be able to do an investigation and have all of this of free time and sort everything out. meanwhile people are demanding answers in the planes are going flying again. they sat around and looked at it. i got to tell you ntsb and i've mentioned this before, ntsb did not investigate boeing manufacturing after the two fatal crashes. they did not investigate it. they told everybody they're theg to be fully cooperative and

transparent and that did not happen. we have a lot of questions about what's happening with our government agencies. arthel: we do not have ntsb rep here to answer any of these questions but i'm going to move on. i'm going to show a list of a boeing models involved in recent incidents. let's take a look at. 7:30 seven nine max. neat mid air blow out. boeing 777200 united flight loses a tire after take off on thursday they have boeing 737 max eight united flight's lights up the runway in houston after landing on friday. so how many airlines are currently using a boeing 737 max jets eight or nine? and are the airlines liable and responsible for the safety of their passengers? >> yes absolutely buried the united states a four airlines find them ask our southwest airlines, united, american and

alaska. there's over 1300 airplanes two thirds of the fleet are actually overseas. when the faa say they are closely monitoring the performance of the aircraft you have to remember two thirds of those airplanes, do not get reports on. this is concerning. again it is too early to tell me specific incidents it could be pilot error on the issue that the plane that slid off the runway. we do not know at this point. but one thing we do know it's critically important the operation the design of the plane, the manufacturing, all of it. quality et cetera. it just shows you the system is more fragile than we think. we have to make sure everyone is doing the job properly in the manufacturers, the operators and the regulators. so far we do not have ntsb are boeing rep here i just wanted very clear about that. and you know this very well if you book air travel through

the 22-year-old suspect began shooting and then took off while another officer fired back. a few hours later investigators found the suspect black nissan about a mile from the scene. then tracked on the suspect himself. the accused shooter is geronimo he is facing charges including attempted first-degree murder, evading arrest, used a gun during a dangerous felony and speeding for police also arrested four other people they found with him and charge them as accessories for all the suspects are now behind bars. local leaders say crime in the city is not slowing down. police records show memphis had 22 murders in the last few weeks. criminal stole about 900 cars just last month. >> the truth of the matter is perception is everything their perception is crime is running rapid in memphis. we have to take a different approach. but we have been doing the last
