their fair share by raising the corporate tax rate to 28% and the corporate minimum tax to 21%. white house spokesman andrew bates tells fox last year house republicans' budget plan raised cost for seniors on medicare. raised emergency costs and costs of college helping rich tax cheats take advantage of every other american. president biden will stress to the country whose side he is on. house speaker mike johnson already issuing a rebuttal to that coming message. >> america is at a breaking point. >> joe biden is touting bidenomics. >> bidenomics is working. >> 78% of voters view the economy negatively. >> and that the president is to blame. >> jacqui: former president trump also says is he going to be fact-checking biden's claims. he posted i'm pleased to inform you that tomorrow night he will be doing a live play by play of crooked joe biden's state of the union address. i will correct and rapid response any and all inaccurate

statements. biden will try to highlight his achievements the last three years, getting the economy back on its feet. creating jobs after the pandemic. targeting to voter constituencies whose support he needs to win in 2024 and concerned about the economy. is he going to focus on efforts to drive down prescription drug prices and crack down on junk fees and things like that. we do certainly expect him to make the usual push he has been doing lately urging congress to pass ukraine aid, israel aid, support for taiwan in the indo-pacific and, of course, efforts to secure the border. is he definitely going to be hitting republicans for not passing the senate negotiated bill. but it's going to be a very delegate balancing act to pitch a positive message about a second term all while having the stamina and vigor at 81 years old to convince voters that he's right for the job, guys. >> steve: that's right. jachecklehim like marjorie tayle

meanwhile, at the u.s. southern border, concerns about gangs are rising as court documents reveal the brother of the suspect accused of murdering laken riley has ties to a notorious venezuelan street gang. >> brian: it gets worse. griff jenkins is live in eagle pass. hey, griff. >> griff: good morning, guys. and there's an undoubtable spring surge across the border from coast to coast. 35,000 encounters in just the past five days. let's begin. sebastian inlet in melbourne, florida, where you were just showing that body cam footage you see the authorities apprehending 24 haitian migrants. they arrested two smugglers. there is of grave concern because of the crisis. haiti is on the brink of collapse as armed gangs are emptying prisons there calling for the president to resign. the telltale sign about this boat was it's a fishing boat with no fishing poles. now, let's go 2500 miles all the way out to ha consume barks california, where we have shown

you day after day, hundreds upon hundreds of chinese migrants streaming across open portions of that border. the daily mail reporting they spoke to chinese migrants who said the chinese smugglers on the mexican side, known as snake heads are assisting mexican cartels in bringing them across. no signs of that strong any time soon. california's governor also not putting up any of the razor wire like you see here behind me. now, finally, you mentioned laken riley in athens. the brother of the alleged murderer of laken riley. his name is diego ibarra. he was arrested on the same day for presenting a fake green card. authorities now believe he may have tithes to the victorious venezuelan gang tren de aragua. is the most violent gang coming out of there. it stands for train of aragua one of the states of venezuela. they were born out of a violent prison. they had ties, you remember, to the new york cop beating case that we have shown in times

square. those believed to be members of this gang. the overall concern that's really being highlighted right now is that this gang, tren de aragua, or tda as it's known, may be trying to establish themselves much like we have seen ms-13. now, finally, back out here, in eagle pass, this is one of the main areas, venezuelan migrants, particularly come to this part of texas and so border patrol officials here are starting to really pay attention to the tattoos that are on some of these venezuelan migrants, particularly the single adult males crossing to see if they might have any ties to the dangerous gang, not a positive development. >> meanwhile, we will see what they do about this surge because it's showing no signs of slowing down, guys? >> brian: i understand they also wear bulls jackets even though they are not nba fans. they wear bulls jackets. this guy in particular doing go ibarra accused of trying to bite a border patrol agent. they took pictures of his tattoos at the time, too. i mean, if you get a tattoo and

you wear a bulls jacket and we know about it, they are basically saying i dare you to get rid of me or arrest me. >> griff: well, that's right. and in that case, you mentioned, brian, is very important when diego came across another individual there was a biting of an agent. the other individual was arrested diego ibarra wasn't. again, it highlights the sanctuary city problems that people like diego and his brother were not removed. it will be interesting to see, particularly in the state of the union tonight, will the president mention these sanctuary cities and these cases where we have seen time and time again that a tragic murder or incident of violence did not have to happen but for they were protected by local sanctuary jurisdictions. >> ainsley: cartels are telling which cities to go to which ones are sanctuary cities, right? >> griff: absolutely, ainsley. people don't talk enough about that the cartels are facilitating it the ones that

get across tell the ones that want to come behind them how to do it putting on social media places like that cut in the wall known as a san judas breakout in jacumba. that's on tiktok. and people come and follow the routes and others were successful before them. >> lawrence: the president has an opportunity -- thanks, griff. steve thank you, griff. >> lawrence: the president has an opportunity during his speech to call out the democratic sanctuary cities, sanctuary states and say start working with ice. do it right now. i'm telling you, it's a bad policy, american people are being killed. they are attacking our cops. end it right now brightening brian change a word on that. demand. is he indicating that they should. he sells i demand as president of the united states to pull off that policy. >> ainsley: isn't it interesting that we are seeing and about cities changing their policies? conservative policies. >> brian: big story today. >> just go back to the summer of 2020 and how things started to change. well, you know what? here we are in the spring, almost the spring of 2024, and things are changing the other way. let's start here in new york city. last week there was a train conductor on one of the subways and what he did was he had the audacity to stick his head out the window to see if everybody was in the train and somebody had a blade and slashed his throat. that's one of the stories that the governor of new york told yesterday as she dispatched a thousand national guards and also cops down to the subway. >> there you see the national guard. they have got guns. they look scary. they will not be able to arrest anybody. they will do some bag checks. but the whole idea is just to make it look like essentially all hands on deck. we have got some cops. don't try anything stupid. >> ainsley: the mayor put out --

sent additional 1,000 city police officers into the subway in february after this uptick in january with assaults and thefts. look, people in new york, they are cared to take the subway. >> lawrence: experiment failed in all the liberal cities. same thing in san francisco. prop e and f. e would encourage residents as well as city leaders to work with law enforcement. and f would suggest that there needs to be drug testing for people. >> ainsley: i love that. >> lawrence: for people to get welfare. the democrats and progressives are freaking out. san francisco chronicle saying can you no longer call yourself a progressive city if you are gonna have these law and order measures. again, the progressives don't want to end the experiment after this death, poverty and destruction. >> brian: do you see what is going on? d.c. says we are changing and be tougher on crime. governor sends the national guard down to the subway where subway crime is up 20%. in oregon they are saying you know you can do any drugs you want in the middle of the street at any moment? turns out it was a bad move.

who would have thought this experiment would have gone awry. they are pulling back on that? what's going on in our country you had your chance for four years. you thought if i'm easier on criminals, it will make it better for everyone. turns out that criminals laughed in your face, committed five times the crime, you don't put them in jail. and even on long island we'll discuss this, they found body parts linked to four people who put the body parts and they let them out with ankle monitors. you can hack -- you can kill somebody, hack up their body, and still go home the same day. >> steve: because, brian, they were only charged with having essentially having things that could kill people. >> brian: an arm. arm without a license. >> lawrence: aaron'sly, only reason why they are doing this election time. all of the sudden they are backing away from this major reset. this is coming from the white house telling all of these -- remember, he was just meeting with the mayors, meeting with these governors. we got to turn this around before election or it's going to be a landslide victory.

>> steve: well, regarding the election, you are right. the problem is the super progressives are being essentially primaried by people in their own party who say the crazy wacky super left stuff where people can hack people up and get out of jail free, that's not working. so now in san francisco, to the point about the chronicle saying it's no longer progressive is the people who were super ultra progressive are now being replaced on the democratic council by moderates. can you believe moderates? >> ainsley: that is why this election is so important. are you better off? is our country better off under joe biden? no. look at crime. now they are walking back all of those progressive policies because they see what is happening. and democrats who thought those policies were great are now starting to want the moderates, too. our country is not better off. we live in a very scary time. just ask precious laken riley's parents. they thought their daughter was safe at uga. uga is a great school. they thought she was safe.

loss. >> lawrence: tithe turn. i agree with you, brian, you don't give the arsonist credit. >> brian: for putting out the fire. >> lawrence: putting out the fire they started. all of these city councils, all of these liberal cities supported the summer of love. justice reform. more rights for the criminals. attack on cops. defund the police. >> ainsley: how about joe biden? open borders. day one. you know, executive orders. 90 different -- he rolled back 90 of donald trump's policies when it comes to border. you do all these stories on squatters. can you live in someone's home. not pay for it, and you get to stay and the resident has to keep paying the person who owns it has to keep paying the bills. >> steve: here's the thing. ultimately the big progressive towns we are talking about, particularly in california and new york, they are still going to elect democrats. but the question now is are you going to elect the democrat with the agenda who is so far to the left it's out of touch with reality or now more moderates and keep in mind. it was just three days ago, two

days ago, kyrsten sinema said compromise is a dirty word in washington, d.c. i'm out of here. so the moderate is dwindling. >> lawrence: speaking of capitol hill, happening today the house is expected to hear testimony on the federal government's weaponization of the banking system. >> ainsley: hillary vaughn is live on capitol hill with a preview. >> lawmakers are trying to protect americans from being flagged as a homegrown violent extremist just because of who they vote for. who they pray to. or where they shop after the financial crimes department at the treasury admitted they did ask banks to snoop on americans' transactions as part of their investigation into january 6th. that included political terms and transactions like trump, maga, biden, or kamala. large purchases from dick's cabela's or brass pro and purchases of any religious books. today the house will hear from witnesses who are warning congress that this is dangerous. one of those experts joined "fox & friends first" earlier.

>> there is systemic risk in the industries. risk policies. >> hate and intolerance policies that are dotted throughout the financial industries. and federal regulators have pervasive authority over these banks. the fact that the federal government can abuse these kinds of policies to push people out of the financial marketplace because of their views and their religious convictions is a real problem. >> a treasury official told lawmakers that all of this is voluntary by banks to look into their customers' purchases and turn over transactions. they say there's limits to what banks can turn over and that customers combined bank activity has to meet a certain threshold before they would be flagged. the treasury secretary says she is doing an investigation looking into all of this, we are still waiting for the results of that investigation and whether or not they ultimately decide to stop this. back to you guys. >> steve: going to be slow day on capitol hill, right, hillary? >> yeah. not much going on around here. >> steve: between that and the 9:00 show, something tonight. thank you very much.

live report. >> lawrence: absolutely. >> brian: go over to carley who is somewhere safe and far away. >> carley: good morning to you guys. got some more news to get to here. update on two murders that took place nearly 40 years ago. a virginia man is in custody and being held without bond after police say they connected him to two cold case murders through d.n.a. evidence. the first killing happened in 1986. the victim is jacqueline ladder of stafford county. the second murder occurred in 1989 another woman vanished while visiting family in falls church. florida police finding themselves in the middle of a brawl involving more than 50 people. police were called to break up a fight between a large group of people. things escalated after they made an arrest. one deputy was pushed and another was punched. but neither were seriously hurt. arizona prosecutors that are investigating trump's 2020 election case have reportedly issued subpoenas to those tied to his campaign. this is a sign that the state

attorney general is neerlg a decision about whether to bring criminal charges. kansas city chiefs fans who attended one of the coldest games in nfl history are facing possible amputation from frost bite? after watching the game in negative 4-degree temperatures, the director of a burn center saying, quote: the patients who had their frost bite injuries along with the chief's game they are just getting to the point now. we are starting to discuss their amputations that might be necessary. oh my gosh. that is crazy. and check out this wild video of an avalanche in the french alps. that is huge. a mountain guy capturing the incredible footage as a mountain of cascading snow cascades down near near a group of skiers. thankfully those skiers were out of reach. social media is outraged over a photo showing the cost of a meal from five guys. one person ordered a bacon

"wall street journal" opinion columnist jason rice says bidenomics are to blame for all of this. jason, i want to go to this clip from yesterday because i know a lot of people want to talk about the shoes. they want to talk about the mugshot. but, for some black voters, it's real simple. let's talk to this guy from allen, texas. watch. >> i love to hear donald trump talk every time he gets on stage. you know, as a black republican from the inner city i can tell

you i like donald trump but it has nothing to do with tennis shoes or indictments. the majority of black men across america we do have conservative values. we do have businesses and we want to raise our kids without the undue influence of democrat policies so that's what he stands for and we are going to stand with him. >> lawrence: jason, it sounds pretty simple to me. >> i think it's -- i think it's very simple. you see it's really a function of what trump's economy prior to covid was doing for the working class in this country. and it's just that a lot of nonwhite voters are overrepresented in the working class, whether they are black voters or hispanic voters. but they saw themselves doing much better than they had been doing under obama. and they see themselves today as not doing as well under president biden. and i think it really is that simple. what we saw prior to the pandemic under donald trump is rising wages. we saw lower inflation. we saw lower poverty rates. low unemployment rates.

and i think that the working class misses that. and black and hispanics miss that and this is worrisome for democrats because these are nonwhite voters that their party typically can count on. you know, typically black votes around 90% for democrats. and right now, trump is winning close to one in four of those black voters. and is he losing the hispanic vote outright. so, if you are the white house, you are very, very concerned about these polls. >> lawrence: jason, i want to go back to that polling when it comes to black voters. because, you know, it's 28% for donald trump right now. and you got 66 for biden. and when some people see these polls they say 28%? that's not that much. but, when you are comparing it to 4% prior, i mean, that's a big jump. this is marathon, not a sprint, right? >> you are right. and we are 8 months out. that could change. and, perhaps, one of these court cases or two of these court cases could go against trump and that could change voter behavior. this is not a done deal yet.

but these numbers are worrisome if you are a democrat for the reason you just stated. the party usually looks at black voters and thinks well, they will vote democrat or they will stay home. this poll shows that some of them are jumping to donald trump. and that is what is scary for them. and, again, i think it's really just the function that these folks were doing better under donald trump's policies. and the left, particularly the left wing media can't get their head around that that is the reality. your paycheck was going further. if you weren't, you know, you were talking about the prices of fast food burgers just now. that is something working class voters understand. it's in their face every day. higher gas prices, higher food prices. and they have -- under donald trump they were not as concerned about that. >> lawrence: the former president has made it very clear that he's going to go to all of these major cities and offer them a choice. and i think that's been lacking from the republican party for far too long. we'll be following it, jason. thank you so much for joining

transgender athletes participating in women's sports at county facilities is illegal. bruce blakeman signed the order and is filing that lawsuit against letitia james. great to see you, mr. executive. so, are you surprised letitia james came after you to cease and desist and is that why you took action? >> yeah. i am surprised because you would have thought that the attorney general would be supporting me and protecting women from biological males who are injecting themselves into all female leagues and teams and women are a protected class under federal law. and that's why i brought the federal action. because, when she sent me the cease and desist order threatening me with legal action, i had my lawyers research it, and my lawyers came to the conclusion that she is violating federal law and that what we're doing is appropriate classifications are allowed under federal law. and women and girls are a protected group under federal law. transgender people are not a

protected class under federal law. so, you have a protected class. we're trying to protect them from biological males who are bigger, stronger, faster, they are robbing women of fair competition. they are creating unsafe environments and, quite frankly, we don't want biological males in girl's locker rooms. >> brian: showing some of this horrendous video where a girl tries to drive the lane and gets hit by someone who claims to be a many would. this is what she says. the law is perfectly clear, you cannot discriminate against a person because of their gender identity or expression. we have no room for hate or bigotry in new york. your response? >> well, that's just name-calling. first of all, nassau county is a very accepting place. we welcome all laugh styles, every race, religion, ethnic group. basically, protecting women. and that's something that should be applauded not denigrated. think about it. women have been fighting for decades for fair competition in

sports. and transgender, biological males can play against men. they can play in co-ed leagues. and they can play in transgender leagues if they like. there is plenty of outlets for transgenders to play. i didn't ban because there is no come at the timive vantage and safety and security issue. transgender athletes are welcome to compete in nassau county not just against little girls and all female teams. >> brian: what's the reaction? where is this suffolk county executive? upstate new york, everybody thinks of new york as this liberal place but not if you go around the whole state are you surprised other county executives have haven't joined you? >> well, i'm hoping that they will because i think, again, this is not only a fairness issue but it's a safety issue for women. and as i said, women have been fighting for fairness for decades. title ix was enacted by the federal government to protect

republican primary for the state's house 14th district beating incumbent george cleveland by 95 votes. and wyatt gable joins us right now. wyatt, congratulations. how did you do it? >> thanks for having me. just a lot of hard work. a lot of doors knocked. a lot of phone calls made. and a lot of people that were helping me out and i really appreciate it. >> steve: you bet. i understand that the germ of the idea came to you during covid and the lockdown and how you, as a kid, felt like government was stripping away your rights. and so you reached out to this guy. this guy who would eventually be your opponent. did you hear back from him? >> i remember i was sitting in microeconomics class and i wrote him an email and never heard anything back. i remember how i felt and i didn't want anyone to feel the way i felt not being left out. that's where i got the idea and here we are now.

>> steve: here we are now. what was your platform? >> big three things focusing on education like simple things, home economics, shop, carpentry, so students prepare. the chinese communist party owns thousands of acres in north carolina. so use imminent domain to buy that all back. and just smart spending. you know, we spend way too much money federal government and state government. so we need to rein that in to lower our taxes. >> steve: clearly, you are a new generation. generational change for the 14th district there in north carolina. and when you look at people who vote, 18 to 29-year-olds, and you are in that demographic generally don't vote. but, if they do vote, they vote for a democrat. so you tried to change that, right? >> yeah. absolutely. i feel if people my age and in that age range can see me, someone who is 21 and younger be a part of the g.o.p. and the republican party, maybe i can help encourage them to feel the same way only, you know, run for

offers themselves but hopefully can join the g.o.p. and the conservative side. >> steve: absolutely. i understand because you are in a pretty red district, you're pretty confident you probably are going to win in november, right? >> we're very confident. we have got a lot of republicans around here and a lot of independents that vote republican as well. so we are very confident. but we are going to put in the work just like we did for the primary. >> steve: you're going to have to split your time between the legislature and your classroom. because you are currently a junior at east carolina university. is there any way you could get extra credit for being in the house of representatives? >> i don't know. i will be sure to ask because everything helps, that's for sure. but, you know, i think the school is going to be very flexible and help me out a lot because i'm there to help them as well because i love to be able to help grow my university but getting a degree and representing my district are the two most important things. >> steve: that's right. you want to talk to the guy who is in charge of the district, he is over there in the history class. wyatt, congratulations.
