tv   Cashin In  FOX News  October 17, 2015 8:30am-9:01am PDT

8:30 am
addiction this is the low tar version. >> visa. >> people are putting christmas on plastic. >> true. >> pretty ex-pen as he now. >> that's it for "forbes on fox." thanks for watching. keep here. we continue with eric bowling and "cashin' in." >> critics call it the dumbest answer at the democratic debate. before the candidates hit the stage i said my number one question would be do black lives matter or do all lives matter? guess what. cnn asked the question but i never expected the answers. here's bernie. >> let's put the question to senator sanders. >> black lives matter. we need to combat institutional racism from top to bottom. >> then it was o'malley. >> the point the black lives matter movement is making is a very, very le g-8 mat and serious point. black lives matter. >> if you were wondering hilly dodged the question but i have
8:31 am
to ask. what the hell are these people thinking. isn't the president supposed to believe all american lives matter? welcome to "cashin' in." our crew this week, wayne rogers, michelle fields, ron williams and jessica tarlov. the question was do blue cross lives matter or do all lives matter. were those the proper answers from people seeking to become the president? >> not at all. it's ridiculous that here in america, all lives matter has become politically incorrect. yes, there are lots of blacks suffering in america. there are lots of asians, caucasians, latinos, veterans, we need a president who will care about each and every one of the american people. and to work to try to make things better for them. not just saying these people matter, these people don't. >> what do you say, juan? shouldn't thaw say all lives matter? >> they should have. michelle, you are missing a huge movement about excessive use of
8:32 am
force by police against black people. that's what the black lives movement is about. we have seen huge protests around the country. we know what happened in ferguson. i could go on and on. in terms of the answer, my feeling is the black lives movement needs to get rid of the issue, draw a broader coalition together by saying, yes, all lives matter. we have to do something about excessive use of force by police. >> john and wayne? >> i think carly fiorina got it right. all individuals matter. we are a country of individuals. not racial tribes. the left is obsessed with collectivism. only groups matter. racial groups, gender, economic groups. i'm sorry. but to treat all people as a member of a particular tribe just because they happen to be the same race is racist, in my book. >> jessica, you could go both ways r. you defending bernie sanders and martin o'malley.
8:33 am
>> the implication that bernie sanders or martin o'malley don't care about all people is ridiculous. >> then say it. >> o'malley did. >> of all the people who didn't say it, o'malley started this. remember the trouble he was in months ago? >> i remember it. martin o'malley is not the best candidate up there and we saw it in the debate. what i would say is juan is correct. of course all lives matter. the black lives matter movement is making a specific point that needs to be out there. they are not necessarily doing it in the most effective way. some of the tactics, i think, are completely wrong-headed. that doesn't mean they don't have a point. so just saying all lives matter or this is all about individuals. >> hang in there, john. i want to get wayne in here. really interesting stuff. go ahead. >> i don't understand what you mean when you say all lives matter doesn't matter. i don't get it. what do you mean all lives matter doesn't matter? all lives do matter.
8:34 am
>> i didn't say -- i'm sorry. i don't understand. >> what did you say. >> of course all lives matter. with the black lives matter, the point they are making is important. we should be talking about institutional racism in this country, the fact that it's harder to get ahead as a black person -- >> i'm sorry. >> why aren't they talking about -- >> interrupt your brunch. >> they should be talking about black on black crime. >> no one up there was talking about it. >> so, now bern any sanders cares. watch what happens at a bern ie sanders rally. watch how donald trump treated it. >> the world is a dangerous place. we need a tough, strong leader. it's not this guy. >> you're laughing, but -- >> it's a great video.
8:35 am
>> i don't know who they support. >> that's a great question. they are hurting some of the democratic candidates. i can't imagine they will support a republican. that would be news to me . >> what about michelle. is black lives matter putting the leading front running candidates on their heels? >> i think the problem is juan is talking about that. they are upset about police brutality and being targeted. if you listen to black lives matter that's not what it sounds like. listen to what they are saying. they feel like every problem is black community has is caused by white racism. i think that's turning off tons of people. >> that would turn off everybody. you're right. i agree with you on that point. >> that's their message. all the problems are caused by white people. >> oh, no. i don't think it goes that far. >> i don't think they are necessarily for democrats or
8:36 am
republicans. >> they made that clear. >> that's why they can walk into brumpbl and disrupt -- they want to put forth the idea that america is racist, founded on exploitation and theft and everything else. >> look what's happening. they are adding, feeding into this anti-come sentiment. it's crushing police morale. we have been warning this could and would happen. now even liberal chicago mayor rahm emanuel is agreeing with us. he said, quote, i met with officers from the tenth district and one office said explicitly when i'm driving by i have to think about whether i want to be on the up ins and what it means for my career. comes are pulling back. not doing their job, but if you have to wonder if i go ahead and frisk that person and it's on camera am i going to lose my job? that moment of hesitation could mean the difference between life and death. >> if you want to hold police accountable and responsible because i hold them on a
8:37 am
pedestal. i think most americans have tremendous respect for police. we expect them to do their job, not harass, intimidate, bully. not grab a guy like james blake who is standing, waiting for a car to throw thim to the ground. we can't use this to defend bad police behavior. >> stay on black lives matter. is it more dangerous for comes? >> i'm not sure they are. we have heightened tensions on both sides now. there was a big police chief summit that happened recently. they all get together. the big head honchos and they talk about policing tactics and what we need to do to improve. they are defensive of things they have been using like broken window policing which is something the black lives matter movement wants an end to but reduces crime across the nation. there will be disagreement there. i agree with juan. i think america is one of the most respected institutions and all of the polling shows people feel that way. >> do you think -- let me get wayne here. do you think that respect for
8:38 am
comes, the black lives movement seems to be spreading. >> it is spreading. there is no reason for it. the whole thing about black lives matter started as, you know, a rallying cry and then they made more out of it. it's just stupid, silly. all lives matter. every life matters. juan, you're panamaian, are you not? >> my dad is black, no question about it. i was born in bpanama. >> panamanian lives matter, too. >> thank you. you're getting soft, wayne. >> listen, i'm an american. >> the whole thing is ridiculous. >> american lives matter. frankly mayor rahm is right. these people are basically professional disruptors. the breakdown is police and social order nationwide. >> there are chants, pigs in a blanket, how do you want them,
8:39 am
fry them. >> oh. >> that's the best case you have, eric? >> no, no. >> get out of here. >> it goes on and on. here in new york they are saying how do you want comes? dead. >> oh, come on. >> black lives matter is going crazy saying they don't want more police and they try to stop the city council in new york. the black community needs to lead more so in many cases. >> panamanian lives matter as well. >> thank you. >> all lives matter for "cashin' in." coming up, the dond sald sag he needs secret service protection. did you see what happened this week? here at fidelity, we give you the most free research reports, customizable charts, powerful screening tools, and guaranteed 1-second trades. and at the center of it all

8:43 am
this week. maybe that's why the donald wants secret service protection. we showed you this video. people jumped on stage with bernie sanders and got in his face. wait, should the american people fight for the secret service to protect people running for president? >> yes, they should. just because a guy is saying i'm running for president and hasn't gotten into the race in full they should be protected of course. otherwise you will have people -- we have had people shot running for president. we have had presidents shot. somebody can shoot somebody. it doesn't matter if they are running for president or about to. yes, they should be protected. >> here is the reality. these are candidates over the last three cycles. 256 days before the election, john kerry had secret service protection. barack obama, 551 days before the election. mitt romney down there, 278
8:44 am
days. give me the next full screen. here's why it matters. 40,000 dollars per candidate per day. we are talking tens of millions of dollars. >> this is one exact reason we need to get money in politics to pay for these things. when it comes to trump this exemplifies what weal call cronyism. he's so rich but the taxpayer should pay for his security. if he's self-funding why not pay for his security? >> but if he does e to pay? frankly there are some people with zero bank accounts. >> i think the parties should pay. there needs to be money in politics. they are private citizens. when they are elected officials. >> that's not a bad option. the dnc and rnc take care of the cost of the secret service. >> i can get on board with that. i think taxpayers ought to pay if it is a front-runner and
8:45 am
there is a direct threat to the person's life. the argument trump was making is he said maybe this is partisan politics. that he has not been offered secret service protection. the department of homeland security said he hasn't put in a formal request yet. we haven't given it to him. with obama he put in a request. there was racist rhetoric. that's why we gave him secret service. donald trump had a direct threat to his life. we are talking about el chapo, the huge mexican cartel is going after him. >> it's true. el chapo said i will take trump out. >> i understand. i think donald trump should have secret service protection. obama got it so early because of the racially motivated threats. going against what jonathan said about putting more money in why not federally finance campaigns. make them three weeks or six months. we wouldn't have to do this dance for years ahead. the big boys like the koch brothers can put that into things that matter. >> you will make me finance
8:46 am
candidate that is i don't believe in, that i don't support? >> no. >> you will make all americans finance bernie sanders campaign or lynn dan la ruche if he's still running? >> they shouldn't get secret service unless there is a direct threat to their life. >> there are probably direct threats to every single candidate's life. >> right. >> sometimes even a talk show host gets -- >> i was about to say. sometimes i feel pretty lonely walking the streets. but presidential lives matter. i would err on the side of caution. i don't think you want people hurt. a lot of the videos we saw bernie sanders on stage or protesters, that's minor stuff. we are talking about, as michelle was saying serious threats against their life. >> yes, use the secret service. that's the best defense against something stupid happening. who picks up the ocost?
8:47 am
i like jonathan's idea. let the rnc and dnc handle it. coming up, the gambling state not willing to roll the dice on fantasy sports. nevada banning them but some say that's a bad bet for everyone. we debate, you decide. my name is mark amann.

8:52 am
a gambling license. juan, you're a liberal. you live in fantasy land. what do you think? >> wait a second. hold on. this is pure gambling. i don't see why there is confusion. this has always been gambling. las vegas, nevada is right. this should be regulated. >> more regulations like a liberal. what do you say, john? >> gambling, oh, gambling. >> ooh. >> i don't know. >> it's a disease. >> in a free country with free choice you have the freedom to use your mind rationally or not. whether eric is using drugs, gambling or undertaking risky business ventures as long as you aren't impacting other people it should be legal and it is morally legal, gambling included. >> before we do that, fox sports is an investor in draft kings. we want to make it clear. you leave it to the state, nevada says, it's gambling. other states it isn't. we'll let you do it, go forward. >> they got away with it because
8:53 am
of an exception. they said people won according to skill, not chance. this is about control. they want more control over this. they didn't have regulations and now they want to have controlle of it. >> i say it doesn't matter. the people will gamble anyway whether the law is the gaming law. look at all of the gambling that goes on outside of the law for god's sake. it's stupid. >> let me say quickly -- >> you're debating something that doesn't happen. >> the problem is there was cheating going on. there was inside trading. you have regulation -- >> it's not about -- >> that's not why they are shutting the site down. they are shutting it the down because it could be competitive to vegas. >> right. >> i have two dimes on the patriots away this weekend. do you want a piece of that action? >> i know nothing you said and i didn't know about the 107-year cubs thing. i'm not the right person for
8:54 am
that. we are moving more toward internet-based everything. this will be an issue going forward. i think it's good we are talking. i'm not sure whether i'm for more regulation or letting it be. >> i'm sure you are. you love regulation. >> what about the idea that since it's 9/11, the big, big thing that goes on in 9/11, hey, we don't want that competition. >> i can't imagine there is competition in nevada. totally on the up and up. this is a perfect example. >> cronyism. >> it's highly regulated. really it's not legal at all. if it's legal it's free so no regulation. there should be none. >> no cronyism. we want free gambling. we want everybody to have the ability to walk into a gambling establishment and risk your hard earned money. do what you want to do with it. >> amen. i agree with you completely. they are picking winners and
8:55 am
losers now. they are upset they don't have control over fantasy sports. casinos see it as a competition. that's happening. >> you can't have some people cheating. >> after the sports scandal broke, more people went and signed up. if you feel it's fair don't play the game. >> all right. hey, wayne, we had fun this week. >> yes. >> that's a good way to leave it. we go from fantasy to reality. how hollywood may have predicted that 107-year curse will be broken in a couple of weeks. >> let me talk to you about retirement. you seem knowledgeable, professional. would you trust me as your financial advisor? i would. i would indeed. well, let's be clear here. i'm actually a dj. picks on fox news.com. many of you know i'm from chicago. i used to ride by schwinn to wrigley field and sneak in or we'd stand there waiting for ernie banks to hit a homerun over the ivy line wall. we'd scramble to grab the ball. over the years i never saw a world series game played at wrigley ever. in fact, the cubs haven't won a world series since 1908. do the math. that's over a century. the cubs take on the new york mets in the national league championship series tonight. i'm hesitant to say they are a team of destiny. however, 26 years ago in 1989 the film "back to the future 2" starring a young michael j. fox predicted that this year, 26 years into the future, the cubs would win the 2015 world series. >> wait a minute. the cubs win the world series? who would have thought? 100-1 shot. i wish i could go back to the beginning of the season, put money on the cubs. >> well, being a cubs fan has been bittersweet.
9:00 am
give me love here. don't hate me. it's destiny. just ask marty mcfly. have a great weekend. everybody. go cubbies. >> i'm bob massi. for 32 years, i've been practicing law and living in las vegas. i help people with all sorts of real-estate problems, from trying to save their homes to closing major deals. eight years ago, 6,000 people a month moved here, looking for employment and affordable homes. little did anyone know that we would become ground zero for the american real-estate crisis. now, it's a different story. the american dream is back. we're gonna meet real people who faced the same problems as millions across america, and we'll dive deep into a city on the rebound because las vegas was a microcosm of america, and now vegas is back.
